I’ll be up to learn VF5 (maybe VF4) when Tech Romancer is up for games. Dalton, Ga needs to become one. Any other stray Dalton players make yourself known. No reason to hide when Dalton Top Team has 8+ serious players and always welcome more players to beat up on.
Any game can be boring watching Youtubes, actually being there is hype.
I wasn’t comparing Virtua Fighter to Tekken. In the post you were responding to, I even said I wasn’t qualified to make the comparison. I simply said that Virtua Fighter, by its own merits, does not look that interesting to me. I could be completely wrong, but this is pretty much a first impression. And “ugly” was more of a response to the character models than anything. Is that an old one or the most recent? All I’m saying is that as of right now, it doesn’t look that good to me.
I wish Dark Horse (Sammy) would tell me whenever he meets up with you all; He and the other two people we spar with down here are all decent at Tekken; but he does not play VF.
Yes, we need to create a scene down here like the Atlanta players, because it is simply too far and expensive to go down there and participate in their activities most of the time.
I apologize. Yes, I can see how Tekken attracts more people, I can see how others can find it more fun to play. I’m a Tekken player; I understand its merits.
I’m just asking more people to give the game a chance.
Branh0913, I would agree with your post except for your movement explanation; Tekken used to be much more movement heavy and intricate, but with T5 they have dumbed down this element considerably. I want T4’s system back.
I just saw what you wrote earlier about me calling it ugly and edited my post to reflect what I meant. I’m not going to say something like “Virtua Fighter sucks” without having tried it or anything. I suppose it deserves a chance, but I don’t see myself picking it up unless it’s at a pretty low price.
the one thing i miss from T4 are the stages, one of the only fighting games i can remember with 3D stages that actually had obstacles and hills and stuff, instead of a big square arena.
BUT…i do not miss the d+1 spam! it was just too good, i beat people i had no business beating by smart use of that move, it stopped everything.
T5 high and low crushes was a blessing and a curse. Mainly hop kick bothered me, low crush, launcher, and silly fast. But yeah, as branh said, its all about getting in their heads and sizing them up to bait out punishable stuff. Mindgames=Fun for me
I sure hope Larry considers a T6 machine when he gets his arcade up and going. I can’t believe there isn’t a place to play that game in Georgia to my knowledge…:shake:
He should although sometimes he just shows up unexpectedly. I think we’ll get some games going next week on Friday or something. Just let us know if you can come. Since Junior’s house isn’t big enough if you guys come we’ll meet up at Time-Out at Walnut Square Mall and hook up a TV/PS3. Just have to remember to throw in VF5, so it’s play or watch, lol.
well guys I finished my final draft of my undergraduate research report on wind energy on thursday… One week of classes and then a week of finals left. I’m not going to be able to make it to waba this weekend though I need to make a presentation for said research and get started on studying for finals. Fun… May 1st/2ns/3rd, my last chance for games in Ga for some time, so around then… what’s good?
It’s weird how no one ever quits Marvel. Something keeps drawing people back to this game. After Underground closed down, I considered myself through with Marvel. But at Final Round, I still couldn’t help but to play some Marvel casuals. I believe SFIV will be much the same. People can’t seem to get enough of this game. Anyway I’m down for some low tier casuals. I’m rusty as hell in Marvel, but I still have to play some casuals in that game.
If anyone want to play me in some 3s and ST casuals at ICIV get at me. Too bad there is no more ST tournaments, and HDremix has replaced everything for the most part. I’m going to have to do a Dogface number and purchase the PCB myself, and start lugging around the setup just to challenge people.
i would say gg’s juan and neto but i lost my edge and i need it back. i dont know what time everyone is goings to metals but im going for sure with my lady. poker for the win and im looking forward to matches in whatever also.lets get on some monopoly.lol
any side bets on who is gonna win this sf4 world tourny??i got $20 on the korean champ.
oh jeeze now that I know ICIV is just one day and only $10 entry fee I might be coming. I do have a important/hard final on monday so I might be there with some crap to study but we’ll see
Will probably be the last Georgia event I make it to for some time but I’m looking forward to seeing familiar faces.
Poongko won’t win. He’s out of his league in a world tournament; he’s all flash. Knowing some great links isn’t going to help one really good Korean player match up against the rest of the world’s greatest players (in their specific regions).
He needs more competition that is as good as him to compete with the rest of the world’s best regional players.
