Ga Thread (Home of the don't get punched in the face stratagy!)

good games indeed

I’ve really just got one thing to say…Fuck everyone who has a stick (keep reading), but doesn’t have an excuse for not using it and letting it sit there to collect dust.

There are needy people out here who need sticks.

That is all.

I bought a stick yesterday. More people need to play Virtua Fighter.

Thats such a ridiculous statement. You say “…but doesn’t have an excuse for not using it,”; who determines what constitutes an 'excuse"?

Me:annoy:

Take it as literal as you can. If you are sitting at home, letting your precious joystick rot in the corner of your room, and you look at it every day, but don’t decide to get your lazy ass up and try to do anything to that stick, I am talking to you.

I agree do something about it…

You should buy everyone who is needy a new stick so that no one will be without and no one shall want for anything!

Get to work

I fixed my issue and got a ps3 stick on the way (fuck yeah) so I’m gravy now. Metal Mike, long time no speak, how you doin? I’ve been sick as hell for a bit and so have the peeps in my house so I’ve kinda been quarantined

You disappeared for a bit. I’ve been training as much as I can. Been busy as hell with work though.

Look up stuff for Fates and Melty Blood > Paying attention in class.

yjdk

Attention:

Metalmike, Marty and I played Fate Unlimited Codes and Melty Blood last night and decided that we want to start playing some more obscure (or at least less played) games. Not as much as staples like SF4 or ST or 3S, of course, but just as a fun diversion that we could hopefully get competative at in the future. Would anyone be willing to start playing these games with us? Metalmike can post what games that I didn’t mention that he is interested in.

Your juice doesn’t kill?

No his juice doesn’t kill. You should know juice drinker lol

hey i was thinking about something on the ATL arcade scene. most games last around 5 mins so if a coinop is going non stop at 50 cents a pop, then in an hr it makes about 6 bucks. so on packed nights (like weekends, friday and sat) in peak hrs, an arcade with about 6 good cabinets will only make 36 dollars… is an arcade really a feasible thing… does anyone see how it can support itself and maybe make a profit?

yo MPR, I need your help setting up GGPO and st

I personally already play all of those doujin fighters, so that sounds cool.

I was chatting with Cool Breeze the other day and he gave me some past examples where you fellows tried games like those and ended up dropping them in a relatively short amount of time. So why bother, if you guys are just probably going to get bored again and go back to the best-game-EVA SF4? I hear no-one even signed up for the Arcana Heart tourney at ICIV…

Uh, well I dont know about metalmike or marty, but I never tried these games, let alone dropped them. So, yeah, that doesn’t really apply.

Re: obscure games
Akatsuki Blitzkampf. Fucking do it.

Arcana Heart 1 is beyond dead. You’re about 2 years late on that one. It was played in it’s little pockets in the US after the console release. But Arcana Heart 2 was released shortly after the American US release, effectively killing the game. Examu pretty much sealed it’s fate in America with it’s expensive expansion packs and a shitty home part of Arcana Heart 2. Meaning most Americans won’t play the game which is arcade perfect at all. And Arcana Heart 1 became a Kira, Kumai, and the other K girl fest, even after Arcana Heart Full was released.

Doujin games don’t have very long shelf lives in general. Probably because they are about 90% execution, and 10% mind games. So not a lot of thought goes into making them. Plus their distribution is already handled poorly outside of Japan so only real enthusist really get into them.
