Just like ATL Tekken champs will forever be claimed by ATL, no matter where they are.
<3
Either way, current address Augustians (oh god lol) held it down in SF4 regardless:
1: Raph (AUG FOR LYFE SON)
2: Jay (Augusta)
3: Kiyo (Augusta)
4: JTO (ATL)
5: Me-RED-ATL (ATL)
5: Don Kim (Augusta)
7: Rashid (Savannah)
7: June (ATL)
9: Omnislash(ATL)
9: MPR (ATL)
9: RogZombie[DJ Homme] (Augusta)
I seriously need to brush up on my Rufus matchups, I only lost to Jay from his hella ambiguous dive kick crossups, and the JESUS KICK! FUck that move!
About 70 people turned out for SF4 quite suprisingly, which was hell to run on 2 TVs for the majority of the tournament. Eddie and I managed to get it finished by like 1215, and even got most of the top 8 recorded.
Hope to see ATL in Augusta next month for the May 16 tourney. remember, 300-150-50 split guaranteed pot. Lets keep this scene alive.
Hmm either enough people didn’t bring equipment or there were too many other games going on. Mag has been trimming the roster, but probably need to be trimmed a little more.
As much as I like Alpha 3 it shouldn’t be there. Personally the only games that be officially at the tourney are MVC2, SFIV, 3s, and SC. Tekken is dead until BR comes out, may as well let it RIP. I don’t think anyone in GA really cares about those other games. CVS2 is dead as well (and I love that game). Probably shouldn’t be an official game as well. I’m guessing brawl/melee is a necessary evil though.
I didn’t see it (alpha3) there. There were a ton of smash tvs but there always are. Third strike was run on one tv and guilty gear was run on that same tv after it was done. They didn’t run CvS2 either.
Tech: No arcana heart that I saw either… Was disappointed I didn’t see you there!
A lot of fun guys, back to serious study time for finals. Mike, Ernesto was telling me to come by on Saturday so I think I’ll try to do that. I’ve got to move out of tech on Saturday but that should be done by like 12.
oh okay. Well Smash seems to be the menace here. Maybe Impact Clash should be 2 days. 1 day for Smash stuff and one day for everything else. Can’t see a reason to drop smash since I’m sure it generates so much revenue for Impact Clash. Some maybe Friday can be an all Smash tourney and Saturday can be everything else from here on out. that would be a better idea.
too bad I never got to meet you Kara Palm, perhaps when/if you return to ATL.
yeah that was hella fun for my 1st atl tourney. im going to attend the augusta tourney so anyone interested in riding hit me up. i probably get a room so if u planning on ridin plan on staying fri-sat. nice meeting u guys yesterday. hella cool people.:wgrin:
I really wanted to come see you; I reviewed a bunch of stuff and got my Dizzy into shape just for you. :nunchuck: But I could not get away from handling the cleaning out of my apartment that day. Plus DG, Shiki and the rest of my crew couldn’t come so that just nailed the coffin for me.
I will see you again, though, be ready for dangerous oki game.
You couldn’t of said it any better, lol. Yeah, I am going to trim it down to only six games next time. The main thing is getting setups there, well PS3 setups for SFIV. No one signed up for Arcana anyway. But I had a ton of fun listening to the several MCs we had on the commentary. I enjoyed the entire time and I cannot wait until I can set a date for the next one. Hopefully we can limit the amount of games that tie up the PS3s so we can use them for SFIV.
Yeah, it threw me off because at the end people were yelling “Augusta wins!” and “Atlanta is shut out!” They did mention that Raph was from Alabama but lived in Augusta for some time, but I just went with what they yelled at the end. My bad.
But it was pretty entertaining to watch. At times the commentary had it’s hilarious moment xD
I don’t see any point in trimming it down any further. We ran every other game in a very timely fashion. All the 2d fighters were done by 8 PM. We just need more setups for SFIV. That was the main issue.
Seems like not enough people have PS3s. Maybe it would be better to move it to the 360 since most people have that system anyway. I’m pretty sure they would easily have enough stations. Only a few peeps have PS3s anyway.
but if he keeps in PS3, then it should definitely not be run the same day as Brawl.
360 would be great but the fact is that PS3 is the standard since it is backwards compatible with most sticks. Unless we had very good realiable adapters for Playstation 3 to Xbox 360 that would be the only way I think it would be feasible to run it on Xbox 360.
Yeah, Ricky had bought two setups. One of which he left in his car so we were able to get that one, and then once Soul Calibur finished it’s round robin that one as well. The tournament ran like wonders once we had that many station. Next time I think it’s just a thing of me personally finding out who is coming and making sure I can accomdate for them to bring PS3s to help. Big man, Ricky, his cousin, Jason L, and I think one other person helped out quite a bit by bringing in their setups.
Yeah you are right. The main thing was the setups more than anything. Two tvs definitely wasn’t popping. I hope the lower entry fee didn’t drop incentive for people to bring equipment. Before any decision is made about the roster we will have a talk trust me. There’s just several events I have commited myself to other than Impact Clash that need to see the day of light. I am starting up a monthly tournament series at the World Congress Center called Atlanta Revival the first one will be May 30th. I am still finalizing the details with Eric V. so we can make sure it won’t conflict with this monthly he holds in Virgina.
GGs to people at Waba. I fucking suck at this game, I can’t wait until I get my stick (hopefully this weekend) so I can practice.
GGs to Marty and Mike tonight, I had a great time. Fatal Codes Unlimited (is that what its called? ) was really fun, as was MELTY BLOOD. This state needs more Melty Bood.
I’m actually surprised smash keeps getting invited back, especially with the way things turn out; Tourneys wind up taking forever for one reason or another, etc etc.
Realistically, if melee got dropped, I dont think anybody would really be bent over it. Most of us who usually show up to tourneys like IC (ones that arent smash only), play other games as well.
Brawl? I cant speak for them. I do know that most of them who show up at tourneys only play brawl (maybe melee also, but beyond that I dont think any of them play anything else).
-pauses for a sec-
I dunno, I feel like I got more to say, but I dunno how to say it without steppin on anybody’s toes or anything.
Like, we (smash altogether) appreciate constantly being invited back to these kinds of tourneys, inspite of what happens (be it our fault or the tourney’s fault. I personally know that alot of stuff that happens is usually our fault).
If melee and brawl got dropped from this, we realistically wouldnt be bent over it; we go because it’s there. If that happened, melee would probably still show up and play other games like always (heck, we’d probably bring a melee setup and chill anyway. We do it ALL the time). Brawl probably would just stay at waba since that’s their default option.

I dunno, I feel like I should give a better explanation since, to some degree, I’m in all parts of this.
