G.A.M.M.E. - Orlando, Florida - USA VS. JAPAN! $5000+ SF4, June 4-6 2010

I thought SBIV was pretty hype, but then again, Hevad tends to fan the Marvel fire lol.

funny thing is I have a surprise for Yipes, I am working on getting pringles in here lol - its no where near certain yet, but they want to be a sponsor lol. We joked around about getting mortons in there too lol.

if anyone of those puts in more ad dollars I’ll increase the marvel bonus pot. If the players find a home here for Marvel, i’m glad to do it.

while there was more hype (more EC in the house) it definitely wasn’t as big as evo’s showing (or at least didn’t seem so) especially with all the MMs in the rio and shit and japan coming in.

absolutely true.

We of course have the CS versions along with all the rest in the Bemani series (pop’n, dm/gf, club, etc)

However I am talking to that person who shall remain nameless to see if I can get his Empress cab…

wow im still dizzied from reading that monstrous first page

fiber optic stream

japan top 5 team

how in the nine hells this is not a sticky?

With that said, so why not japanese marvel players too lol

Open to all bud ^^ I hope they come and compete.

I asked for the Sticky, I was given a go ahead when we get closer to the date, SRK is doing right by us ^^

I’m in there…

please feel free to send us any emails to info@gpxgaming.net and we will always read and check emails and answer them everyday.

i think thats a pretty cool idea. the question is can the casual players come drink and watch. just give the pros a pass to play each other and i think it would be pretty straight.

Seven months can’t come soon enough!!!

Just saw that my name was added to the first page and it renewed my already absurd excitement for this!

Haha also we should get Kuroda out here for the 3s players

I had not thought of that…my thought was more to keep the place private to the outside world, only VIP passes would be allowed (VIP Passes and Pro-Player Access are 2 separate things).

Camera’s can be set up and streaming internally to screens outside in the hotel are possible, as is streaming online, although I was thinking of this area as a deflation location - if thats at all possible for the Pro’s to play other Pro’s without any pressure.

also, if we decide to implement this concept at GAMME Orlando the space we would utilize is the maid cafe area which is not large enough to house more then 150 at a time.

Also at the moment the “GXP Pro Player’s Club” would only be for the Fighter Community - have not decided on making it all encompassing for all genre’s like fighters, shooters, rhythm and tcg…that would not work, I could be wrong.

This would be pre-beta, I have some emails coming in with questions and comments and ideas to for this.

my ultimate goal for this is to have a relaxed location for the Pro’s who are 21 and over to play other Pro’s without the pressure of an audience watching relaxing in a casual setting, with our maids serving drinks for a small period of time as a VIP Gaming lounge…

What about having it so there’s velvet rope outside and regular people have to wait outside, keeping the maximum at like 100-125? This would probably defeat the purpose of “no audience”, but it would definitely up the VIP atmosphere.

That’s doable, our facility does not have a whole lot of Stanchion roping from what I understand, but thats easy enough.

What are they being roped off for? or rather why would they be waiting? to get inside? the concept for this room again is for 4 hours on Friday night and potentially 4 hours on Saturday night (Sat night is after party night so not so sure about this for a sat night).

I like the opinions coming it, keep em coming.

i don’t mind the idea of pros playing each other, but i’d like to be able to watch the matches atleast.

Y’know instead of having Empire Arcadia put together a team and the WC put together a team we should hold tryouts for the 5 players who get to take on Japan. I mean is it really going to be the best in the US if , for example, the EMP team consists of Marn, Justin, Joe, Sanford and Andre and the team is able to beat whatever team the WC puts together even if some WC players may be better than some players on te EMP team? What we should do is have small qualifying tournaments around the country for players who want to try out for the 5v5 team and then use the 5 best players from all around the country instead of having it be either the 5 best from the East Coast of the 5 best from the West Coast. That way its actually the best in the US.

I’m down for this…

As a matter of fact I would even be willing to run a qualifying tournament if other promoters around the US are interested in running them as well. Personally I think that this is the best way for us to Rep the US. Its better to have the best players in the US chosen by process of elimination than just to make a team of who we think would work best.

I have concerns about the US vs Japan 5v5, but more pertaining to the game played.

If we play Street Fighter 4 (Vanilla version!), I feel Japan will win for free due to us having moved over to Super SF4.

If we play Super4, I feel the US will win for free, because if no arcade release happens, I doubt the Japanese players will be playing Super seriously.

Thoughts?
