cant wait, this is only 1 hour away from me :lovin:
We have decided to make a change to our charitable donations scenario. Tournaments backed by Bonus pots will continue to issue 50% of all entries to Charity, those Tournaments that do not have Bonus pots associated will not be issuing donations - we will instead match the amount ourselves to give to charity.
We feel this makes it better for the players to earn a solid pot on the tourneys that do not have bonus pots, we’re taking into consideration the amount of travel people will make to compete and we don’t want them to get shafted from the large amount taken out for charity.
We will cover that end for those tournaments.
I will have Javi update the OP. I hope this makes everyone that have questions about this happy ^^
Thx
Thanks Javi!
Done ^^
Also making it official, we will only be focusing on Super Street Fighter IV for the event. I just finished sending to our webmaster the Tournament listings with scheduling and pot information for each. That will go live very soon.
We have also decided to make the Smash Brawl Pot 50/25/15/5/5 to satisfy the Brawl Community (I know its not really pertinent for SRK - but for posterity I post here first and then update everywhere else). Everything else will be 70/20/10.
HYPE.
I’ll be here.
Did you join just to say that? Props…
Hello,
I’m also coming to this event mainly for mvc2. I’d like to play some of florida’s best in some good money matches as well. I’d also like to play jeff for some good cash. Mixup, let’s play for some moolah too.
HYPE!!!
I cant even say how hyped I am for this. Everything about this event is insane. =D
deal, i prefer setting it up once everything is a lock in person.:china:
gonna be good.:smokin:
Hmm No mention of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom with the new version releasing in Jan…Im still in tho
Yes, we will be using TVC:UAS… Just like we said with Super Street Fighter, we don’t like to write it in till it’s actually released…
We all know what happened when tournaments announced Tekken 6 tournaments in June…
We will have the game for the con, along with everything else, funny enough we talked about this recently because we are looking at it to sit in the Smash Arena since all the Wii’s will already be in that setup.
I am going to be talking to Seth and Jeff about TvC - On another note.
I am going to take DoA4 out.
On another note again…lol - Little Rock Game Con was a great weekend, lots of work and great promotion, great kids in the Arkansas area, Sanford, Andre and Rahsaan made a lot of folks happy there.
oh…my…god…
and anime/music/manga?
only thing better would be to have some PUMP IT UP for the rhythm section.
mixup: puh-lease. you’re gonna get tops in the regular and low tier tournament
We’re huge Rythm/Bemani gamers as much as fighters… We will have Pump (NX2) and possibly Pro among the other 7 dancing box machines… (ITG2 r, SN1&2, Extreme)
Florida is one of the only communities in America that actually has a thriving Pump scene so we jumped for it…
So while we had no power to charge laptops and phones and we had over 50+ hours of driving in the last mini-tour through DC, Ohio, St. Louis, Little Rock and Back to Maryland we had a lot of time to work on some topics I wanted to put out there on this forum, I might make a separate thread to get input on this sort of thing, but I want to make sure we have our own original ideas preserved, but I need some input to make sure its what you the players really want, as we continue to create a solid gaming, and competitive experience for our communities.
We are conceptualizing a “Pro-Players Club” the idea I had was based on a few scenarios which are based around some of the most consistent arguments:
- To play at a top level you need to practice against top level players
- Playing against top level players from different regions
- Top level players not necessarily wanting to play against “Casuals” “Randoms”
from these general debates was born the idea for the club.
What I would like to do at the event is separate 4 hours of event space for late night events - 10pm - 2am that would have an additional 16-24 setups for a variety of fighters where “Invited” Pro-Players at the show had more of a VIP feel for themselves to play privately against each other in casual play, create their own matches (foney or otherwise) or if need be have us administrate a VIP tourney for a separate pot.
The event space would have a bar setup and would of course require 21 and over for access into this space, the bar would be open and free for 1 hour and the remaining time would be a cash bar, we would have “Maids” in the area to serve the players drinks, this would coincide with our maid cafe.
We have not talked about streaming anything in this room or recording matches, although the obvious is plain to see that some great matches would occur here.
The idea was to make it more of a relaxed space for some of the Pro’s at GAMME to play without the interruption of casual players. it also allows a micro solution to the 3 debates listed above without the general need for a tournament - less pressure to perform.
a secondary concept would be to allow the 160 VIP badges we will have at the show access to this space as well as the Pro Players.
The Pro-Players granted acccess will be allowed in for free, the VIP’s have access as a part of their badges.
Those are the 2 scenarios for this “Pro Player’s Club” or simply “GXP’s Player’s Club” (GXP for GAMME, not GPX ^_~)
I would like to hear opinions from the community about this, again I might make a separate post to get more feedback - I am sure someone will try to copy the idea, but imitation is the best form of flattery ^^.
plz attend:lovin::lovin::lovin:
i predict low tier madness:wasted::wasted:
tell me yup yup
nx2 and pro!? GADLIKE. though I’ll probably have to play near the end of the day or frequent back and forth to hotel to shower lol. but PIU is TOO GOOD. beatmania too? ugh
mixup: I definitely plan to attend this. this so far looks like it could be the biggest tourney for marvel next year. I need to get some whippings from your omega red before this fo sho.
Making it the biggest was not the intention, but I love Marvel myself and hanging with Yipes, Sanford and others who play hype matches like Total at Season’s Beatings and even watching Andre play casuals with attendees who were asking him and Sanford questions this past weekend is a great thing.
It’s not on the list yet but a Low Tier tourney is also in the works to add to the schedule and I know that some of the best will be coming, so real hype for it is granted. Lots of folks from NYC are going to be at the tourney so they will be happy to get what NYC keeps alive.
I remember tossing around the Idea for CvS2 lol - it will be at the show, just not a major tourney for us. I figure if you guys want it, our tourney handlers can arrange for an impromptu tourney.
yeah, the only reason i said biggest is because the pot should draw the players in. and evo was the only reasonable tourney for marvel this year. sb4 was nowhere near as good for it. and next year evo won’t even allow Dreamcasts so yeah…looks like this might be it if all the players are as interested as the few so far.
who says evo won’t allow dreamcasts? don’t make statements like this if you don’t know anything about it please, if the nextgen system’s version still sucks, I’m sure they’ll use dreamcasts.
