*Starting Tournaments 10am on Friday (Thursday registration opens for all pre-reg @ 4pm, 8pm walk up registration opens)
This discussion is open among various channels of GAMME because the question is “how do we get our tournaments played while allowing the competitors to enjoy the events various programming”
The Event opens 4pm for opening ceremonies, so essentially only the tournaments would be running at this time.
*Beat the Champs - US & Japan Editions
pretty much what it says, we will have some of the players from each end to play, we have not determined what allows you to play them yet, but essentially I am thinking we will have a limit, but essentially beat the player and get a prize, I am thinking $100.
Some folks have suggested challengers should pay the players $10 to challenge them...Whats you guys opinion on this.
*Top Tier SSFIV Tournament
Pretty much what it sounds like, this would be a limited access tournament - the way we determine the players would come from the top 64 from the main SSFIV tournament. (not the top 1-64 players the top 64 people, from first down the list until we have 64 players - usually listing through the last 16 people tied at the top 49th spot.
These 64 would be allowed if they choose to compete in a separate tournament with its own registration against the Japanese players. I have not decided to put a pot on this yet as I am considering making this a $20 entry for the pot and will be signed up for at the event as well as we have not decided to do this yet.
This would address one of the fundamental issues we have which is bringing the Japanese players ourselves. If its a pure pot with no bonus then its the community on its own deciding and its pool of players would be the top that have played that weekend.
Also considered taking 1 seed to complete an 8 man seeding (7 coming from Japan) If we go forward with this concept, I will most likely seed the extra person from ECT this year. Yay John.
So we have a lot on the table of discussion with my teams to work out. We also have some new folks coming onto our teams that are getting into our discussions to work on these scenarios.
Trying to make everyone happy…very tough, but I definitely try.
