Future of Nintendo? Bright.. or Dark

Well, it’s what the majority want, haha. I think the Game Pad just needs a re-design. Then the multi Game Pad games can come, and they can sell the Game Pad by itself as well.

Nintendo’s done a lot of stupid shit with this system that deserve criticism, but the haters are hating in the wrong spot(with the exception of graphics), due to them not owning it.

@bboysanstorm‌ In light of Nintendo’s no lube rape yesterday, please change thread title to: Future of Nintendo ahhhh my eyes! can’t see that blinding light!

Yeah it wasn’t a “no lube rape.” It was a great presentation, but let’s be real.

Yoshi’s Wooly World looks promising even though I’d happily stick to LittleBigPlanet 3. It’s been a while I’m actually really excited to get back into LBP.

I’ve never been crazy over Kirby nor Zelda. I’m maybe an hour into Lorule on Link Between Worlds I don’t care to finish the game. But don’t even get me started on the lack of Starfox and F-Zero.

I bought a Wii solely for Smash, but when I got a PS3 the next year I couldn’t care less about anything on Wii. Afters these conferences, it looks like I’m going PS4/ 3DS this gen especially knowing that a couple of my college buds already have WiiUs for Smash.

Rape for the Nintendo fan. Their presentation had nothing for non-Nintendo fan other than Bayo 2 which I won’t be able to get.

As Hawkingbird said yes it was in the eyes of gamers like myself who still enjoy their first party stuff, but if not well you’re mostly left out in the cold. Par for the course :coffee:

It wasn’t rape, more like a high quality fuck session, but not rape.

I do think from a general response Nintendo showed themselves well to the media but the problem still lies in getting more fans and developers to give the Wii U a shot. Maybe the new games will push it (already had Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade Chronicles X and at least one version of Smash Bros 4 locked in my mind for purchase personally) but in general it is a good first step toward redemption and without a doubt the most entertaining of the presentations they have done in a long while.

someone start posting some dumb shit so i can see some wrath of Po :bgrin:

Sorry for not enough gunz.

Just curious…What kind of games is it that you play anyways?
All i ever saw from u was “zzzzz” and “e3 this year is shit” and “e3 sucked”, etc etc etc.
Now you directly or indirectly support the statement of Nintendo “raping” the competition?
Dosen’t that mean that e3 must have been quite good , atleast for nintendo?

It’s a good thing that Mario Maker level editor is coming out. Now maybe @Gnalvl can finally beat Super Mario Bros.

I suppose I shouldn’t have expected anything but an idiotic retort. My bad.

so they are releasing Zelda Wii U until 2015? by that time the console will be discontinued

You are a fucking idiot.

Fight, boys. Fight for my love amusement.

False. The console is gonna survive on Mario Kart 8 and Smash 4 for a good amount of time. Past 2015 is a mystery to me, by then it’ll depend on Zelda and (I guess) Splatoon and Devil’s Third.

How come no one was saying Sony should go 3rd party, and that ps3 was never gonna survive when ps3 was struggling?

Because of the strength of the PS2 (still one of the best selling game consoles of all time).
The Wii, while still a good seller in its own right, wasn’t seen in the same eschelon as, say, the DS (another of the best selling consoles). Then the Wii U came out and nobody bought it, shamefully enough. Nintendo was just shelling out sequels to existing properties, so it made it seem as though going 3rd party was a sound suggestion.

Yeah but niggas act like Nintendo is in capcoms situation. Again, Nintendo is fine and their only product is video games.

Sony is eh and they are an entertainment service as a whole. By that logic sony should’ve cancelled ps3 since it wasn’t selling and just make games for xbox and Nintendo. I doubt wii u is gonna sell mega numbers. But if in the end Nintendo profits then no one really lost. Same with other 2 consoles

Your point is arguably its own counterpoint: Microsoft and Sony have something to fall back on when/if their games divisions operate in a deficit. Nintendo cannot really go back to making hanafuda cards.

I understand that this is not exactly how their enterprises work, but even if you consider it an awful business practice, they definitely have the wiggle room to reallocate resources to at least sustain their product until the rough patches are over.

Not to mention that at its worst, PS3 still likely outsold the WiiU at its best (thus far), and it cost twice as much money (more so if you factor in a rough inflation calculation - according to this random site, $599 in 2006 dollars is roughly $682). The PS3s were selling on eBay for upwards of $1500 at one point, because people could not keep them on the shelves. Something else to consider is that that they were sold at a loss initially, as they used quite a bit of brand new technology (Cell, BD-Rom, etc).

Just to clarify: this is in no way meant to be me claiming that the WiiU is doomed. On the contrary, I believe that its life cycle is just starting, and that it will do well - particularly towards Q3 2015.
