3DS is still selling like crazy an has a good amount of games out and is coming within this year as for the wiiU right now its doing pretty bad but I think that nintendo needs to drop the price on that system and get back to marketing that damn thing I work at walmart an this lady thought that the wiiU was just a new controller for the wii also once Zelda WWHD,mario 3D world and smash U drops nintendo should be good
I don’t know if Nintendo will reach 9 million by next year but, history proves gamers go where the games go so once they start rolling out the quality titles Wii U will be just fine.
Get the fuck out of here with that shit. The Gamecube was actually a pretty damn good system, it could go blow for blow if not outdo the PS2 and was just short of the Xbox. Nintendo just fucked up like they did with the N64, in going for mini discs as the system’s main medium that held less then half of what the PS2 and Xbox were capable of holding with their straight DVD based medium. They also fucked up a bit with the controller and initially marketing the console’s color as purple.
And the N64 should go down as one of the best local multiplayer gaming devices in the history of the world, Goldeneye, Smash Bros., Perfect Dark, Bomberman, Mario Kart, WCW/WWE wrestling games, etc. The original Xbox had the Halo games and recent consoles have had some great multiplayer games and online features but when it comes to experiences with 4 people sharing a screen no system since has had that type of quality.
But the device itself was solid as fuck and could compete, Nintendo just screwed themselves with their choices. Hell, at this rate, you could probably call the Wii U the second Gamecube, because once again early decisions on the system’s looks and features are looking like they are screwing the system out the gate leaving Nintendo’s handheld market to carry the slack.
He isn’t exactly wrong so I don’t see what’s so funny.
Smash sells more than SF and will actually get people to buy a Wii U for it.
GT5 was a huge disappointment compared to earlier games in the series and they had to release about 3 different versions in order to fix all the problems that existed in vanilla.
FF14 1.0 was garbage. ARR is an improvement but it’s not doing anything groundbreaking. Just another themepark MMO. FF13 sucked and 12 and X-2 are divisive games. You have to go all the way back to X for the majority of fans to agree was the last time FF was any good. That was over a decade ago. Even then you’ll still find people who will argue IX was the last time FF was truly any good.
I’m one of those Smash isn’t a fighting game guys. I’ll leave it at that.
Mario Kart and GT are apple and oranges. One is a kart racer and the other is a driving sim. Leagues different from each other. Mario Kart Wii was a major disappointment too due to how much they dumb down the racing so it can work well motion controls and the removal of power drift was a huge blow for me.
heh, it’s funny that people forget that… Xbox and Gamecube were on a noticeably higher level than Ps2 in terms of the tech specs.
Smash–yep, I’d be tempted to get WiiU for that, but the real deal for me is Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101. It’s kind of annoying that they won’t be on any other system, so I have absolutely no choice but to get this system at some point soon.
sheeeit, Nintendo will be fine, I’m sure… though GC was the last time I cared to buy a system from them immediately. I don’t really get the Gamecube hate… at least in my opinion, that system was worth the price on launch day. The bizarre thing to me is that people loved that nearly VirtualBoy-level embarrassment known as “N64”.
…ok ok a VB comparison may be a bit extreme but that system was really unappealing to me in every possible way. Even the controller…it was seriously one of the worst controllers I’ve ever seen or tried to play with. Who’s the fool that designed that mess? It’s so bad it’s funny
N64 was trash, that shit was my second game console…
I hated every moment of it… while my brother who lived far away had MGS1, Street Fighter, and Crash Bandicoot, along with other great classics…
Gamecube was amazing, but nobody bought it, making gamecube games quite expensive for their age…
They are all worth no less than 20 dollars…
I think Nintendo is gonna blow up with the 3DS, especially when Pokemon gets released and they start improving shit like battery life when they start moving into different iterations of the 3DS…
WiiU… is looking quite floppy… only reason I want one is for Bayonetta 2… in other words, I’m getting one next year because I just don’t want one at all…
I enjoyed the GameCube a lot, and I’m not big on Nintendo. I wish I never sold mine, as the Capcom 5 games (which I have on PS2) look amazing, Cubivore was one of the coolest games to play, and Mario Sunshine is my favorite 3d Mario game. Metroid Prime was cool. Sega made the best F-Zero game of all time, and Super Monkey Ball was immensley fun and replayable.
Until that add Target add showed up, I didn’t realize how bad the WiiU was doing. I played it at a kiosk before it launched(didn’t know it was coming out) and thought the tablet controller was awesome and comfortable, but it wasn’t 'till I saw more of W101 and Bayo2 being exclusive that I started really looking at it. Sonic Xtreme is finally coming out and X looks fantastic as well. I’ll be picking up a WiiU eventually (wanted to when W101 drops, but not gonna happen. Priorities.), but with the replay value of the P* games, I think I’d be cool. If I go for the and squeeze every last drop out of just the P* games, the other systems will most likely have a list of exclusives that are cheap, as well as price drop or two making it worthwhile to pick up at the time.
I disagree. Metroid Prime is one of the greatest games ever made. It was made by Retro, but also by Nintendo. As for something that was developed by Nintendo exclusively, Skyward Sword was amazing, I consider it to be the second best Zelda game. Most people think the Mario Galaxy games are very good and better than Sunshine. So I dont think they’re on a downward slope from the 90s, I think they have ups and downs.
Wow… thats the first time ive ever heard anyone say they thought GC was better than N64. Not to say anything bad about GC though, I love that console too (In fact until 2009, I didnt own a current gen system because I felt like GC’s back catalog was superior to anything on 360/ps3 at the time) . For my money, N64 is the best console of all time. It lacked quantity and third party support, but it just nailed it in the exclusives.
I really hope the Wii U gets some next gen fighters, namely SF and KOF. But I doubt they will.
Agreed. Though I would say Gamecube is the second N64. N64 fucked up by not choosing disks, and thats why companies like Square left. If the N64 was a disk system, the gaming world would look very different today. In fact the Playstation was actually supposed to be a SNES add on that Nintendo backed out of, and Sony just went with it. If those companies didnt goto the PSX, the brand probably would have flopped and we might still have Nintendo and Sega(Maybe not, but it was PS2 that killed the Dreamcast, so I’m a bit optimistic) as the console makers.
idk man them Mario Kart wii sales numbers was pretty high I do know that Nintendo’s big system sellers can outsell COD or whatever random shooter thats out I just think the lack of games+price is whats getting people also alot of people are waiting on the PS4/xboxone atm.
