Funky House & oldschool Funk/Disco Music thread

This track is huge in the UK right now.

the DJ at the pub I work at doesn’t know what he’s doing. For one he doesn’t mix the tracks he plays, he uses a premixed CD he made at home so you cant even ask him for a song request, and he has no idea how to select tracks. When he plays one good song at least 80% of the women in the pub hit the dance floor, but then he follows that up with a shit generic techno/dance track and they all leave… He’s a nice guy though.

Fuck it, I want to start DJ’ing full time. I’ve been booked a few times this month but I need something consistent.

A mix I did a few months ago, a lot of funky house music (along with indie dance, progressive house, and tech house) that I think people will enjoy

Dont know much about the guy but this is really good. I tried to google him a lot of hip hop popped up, I’m slightly intrigued if he does stuff like this on the side.

It should be said: Now that I live in Chicago, there is NO house music scene. None. And if there is, it must be alive in the summer because it sure isn’t going on in the winter. Can’t really blame the city considering how cold it’s been here.

Anyway, not really house but this is the nicest track (and prettiest) video I’ve seen in a long time.

Also this…

As well as these…

Fucking love Todd Edwards. He cannot make a bad song.

Kind of ironic considering Chicago was the stomping grounds for that type of music, no?

NYC might have created house but Chicago gave it a home (see what I did there?)
