I might as ask this and get some recommendations as well.
What match ups in AE2012 where it is NOT a good idea to use FSE? From my limited perspective, certain rush down characters and most of the charge characters. The list of characters from the top of my head ( not complete in any way owing to my limited experience with FSE as I was always a Ultra 2 player )
Use Ultra 1
Ryu
Guile
Dhalsim
Use Ultra 2
Blanka
Bison
Ken
Cammy
Honda
Thoughts on this? Like I said, I could be miles off as I’ve only really begun exploring FSE properly with the release of AE2012.
Speak for yourself. I think based on where I was in my development I did fine. I saw my errors and when I’m healed I’ll move onto beating him… Because I can beat lud. I just have to be a better player… Not juri gets raped by chun.
It felt like I lost to the player, not the character
nah lud is a solid player though man. I’m working hard to beat him not chun. I believe chun isn’t that bad of a match up for juri, she can win it. She’s just annoying.
well speaking is easy don’t you think. Getting to work and then showing the juris what you did helps give them something they can work with. I don’t mind sharing with people, but it shouldn’t only just be ‘us’ doing all the talking. I’m gonna do my best as a juri player to post up my vids so you can all see how i play and maybe draw from it or avoid mistakes i make. To be frank to be a better player consist of working in the lab, talking about what you found (even if we all know it), match up questions, posting vids, going to majors and then meeting other juris and sharing ideas. Hell i picked up a lot from kail from nec and it really helped me fine tune a few things for my juri.
The Matches where I use U2(this might change due to the FSE buffs):
Akuma
Bison
Yun
Yang
Fei
Honda
Zangief
T.Hawk
Sagat(only if he’s reversal happy/ mashing)
in my short time here, i’ve created numerous threads, posted match videos, technology videos, given tips or advice to quite a few people, in the middle of doing more research on some 2012 stuff, and i also have that list of fuzzies that i proposed earlier in this thread (i’d just like to add more to it is all), so i’d hardly count that as saying one thing and doing another?
i’m doing whatever i can to help other juri’s, get more activity on the juri boards and what not. i’m not trying to pick an efight with you, i just think that self proclaiming yourself as one of the top juri’s and saying you don’t have time for the 'baby juri’s" is incredibly dicouraging for newer people to post on our board, let alone being super arrogant lol.
also regarding ultras, i use fse for everyone except grapplers, sakura and cammy. sakura and cammy will probably change, grapplers no.
^Pretty much took the words out of my mouth. Perhaps it’s time to stop being inactive and finally say it out in the open. It’s been bothering me for some time now.
I mean, come on.
>Toot your own horn, call other Juris weak and put yourself on a pedestal, possibly alienating new users.
>Wonder why the forum isn’t getting much activity or new guys trying to join
I mean, wtf? I agree with Skatan about the attitude of sharing too. Not just because he’s a fellow Chun. It’s not the 90s, being selfish with strats and tactics won’t get you anywhere.
I always have issues with Owen Wilson aka: Ken It’s that damn shorten that cleans my clock. Might just by my execution being really bad. Can’t find reliable punishes.
Chun’s pokes may be better in other matchups, but against Juri the only poke that she is allowed to use is c.hk, because Juri c.mk cleanly goes under her st.mp and st.hp. Also if Chun whiffs any poke other than st.mp then c.hk is pretty much free whiffpunish against her. Chun does have a good fireball, in other matchups, Juri can stop fireballs simply by straight jumping at far range or doing divekick on reaction at mid-range, she can also cancel them out for free with ex fireball and low fireball stops Chun from walking behind.
Hazanshu is dealt with by doing focus absorb, dash, cl.mp x pw on reaction. This can be done pretty much every time Chun decides to go for this move, you have around 25f to react to it. Canceling a normal into hazanshu is completely forbidden for Chun to do against anyone that knows the matchup because of what I wrote above. In comparision Juri f+mk is a much better special to have since you will actually be able to use it as an overhead instead of just a “wanna get closer”-move.
J.hp and Juri j.mp work in exactly the same way, as long as they are the ones hitting from beneath, they will beat pretty much anything else in the game air-to-air.
You’re talking to someone who has been playing Chun since ST, so don’t think I don’t know what I’m talking about “bro”.
We all have lives outside the game i’m sure. I’ve been working on a guide and at the most recent major talked with and gave advice to the juris. By no means am i that great of a juri player, I have knowledge that’s about it. We all do our part in some way or forum. My biggest issue is time. I don’t mean it to be rude but it’s just the truth. I’m glad you’re doing your best to help the juris on the board it should be the same case for all of us.
I was merely pointing out that they have similar tools as characters, I don’t question your knowledge on Chun dude I’ve seen u play u know that. Also don’t think I was coming across like a smart ass just because I use the word bro that’s just how I talk.
>=\ it’s gdlk far standing mk! Cr.mk is alright but it doesn’t reach as far and isn’t as versatile as far standing mk is at all. Bout the only thing it’s good for is extending combos. @Shinmaruku Juri takes a while to get used to. Try to figure out all her normals first. That’s always the best way to go first then work on simple combos and if you’d like to see some visual presentations there is always the replay channel in 2012 and youtube. I say look for weird neo, juicebox abel, good times (japanese player), and eish. They should give you an idea what kind of juri you wanna play. All four don’t even play her the same way. See what you like.
Weirdoneo. Has strong offense, and knows matchups and how to stay in. Defense is a little to mashy, but what can you do. He has strong knowledge on how to make the most of your damage.
Juicebox has strong matchup knowledge IMO. I see him doing smart things within the matchups like anti airing jaguar kick with c.mp and baiting chickenwings and rekka.
Yossan. Patient. Strong zoning game with purpose. I talked to genkibot about this. He finds an opening and exploits it. Realize juris strength is zoning and corner pressure.
Eish. Great fse. I love his fse. I think he’s really strong with her rushdown with this ultra. You can learn a lot from him.
