Having the edge against whom?
Nobody else reads these forums, and nobody watches vids that don’t include Japanese players.
It’s not like Daigo is reading this board, and top players can most likely find things on their own if they feel they need to learn a match up.
And if you feel some tech will be useless once it’s out in the open then, well, it’s most likely a gimmick and it would’ve worked once if it worked at all.
I’d be sharing everything I found if I had the skills to actually find tech on my own.
Jamp. Everyone has their own setups. Even if it’s basic…juris work so different from one another.
I play a juri that has a unique wake up. He sets up an amiguous j.mk/j.hp mix up followed up with sc.hp which further sets up a mix up of throw or invincible move.
It’s weird, but works.
With that said… Share the small things and explain why it works. For us and for your own understanding.
5-5 isn’t in anyones favor
Do you mean like… 5-5 results but Juri has the easier time or what?
Lol. It’s 50/50. But it’s in someone’s favor makes no sense. The idea is that it’s outside of the players hands and it’s the strengths of te characters.
imo 5-5 is better than 6-4. I’m not gonna say the match up is 6-4 in juri’s favor. It doesn’t work like that for juri. most of her good match ups are even.
If your opinion is that 5-5 is better than 6-4, then I recommend that you re-learn everything you know about mathematics.
5=5, Even numbers, thus same for both players
6>4, 6 is a larger number than 4, meaning that having a 6 in this case is advantageous
it would be the case if juri had a 6-4 match up. So doesn’t have any due to her character archetype. I could say juri has a 5.5 advantage against yun and yang because they have to work harder to win matches and juri can just lame them out, but it doesn’t mean that the same thing they used to abuse juri with still isn’t in play. If you wanna examine it closer that could be my opinion as a juri player. A yun and yang player may or may not agree. Heck even a juri player might not agree.
I still stand behind my comment. 6-4 Twins over Juri is bad. Twins and Juri a 5-5, i couldn’t be much happier with the math and it now in her favor because of their nerfs.
Juri does have her favourable matchups, Zangief is at least 6-4 in Juri’s favor for example, same with T.Hawk.
I also feel she has the advantage in a few others, but those two are indisputable.
I read up a lot of ppl saying the match up was 5-5 (gief and juri). I used to think that until recently. I don’t even have to stock a fireball to keep gief out. Same goes to t.hawk. I think it’s player skill for that match up. If a juri player has a good understanding of her anti air normals she’ll give those guys hell. Juri does well with characters that have to get in on her. Sorry Skatan those guys completely slipped my mind. I’m think i need some rest haha.
Those matchups are just keep hk fireball stocked at all times and release on reaction to jumps (don’t forget dashing up and doing lk/ex pw as a combo). Then use lk/mk/ex fireballs along with her zoning normals to keep them out of distance.
I’m pretty sure Hakan has a much tougher time against her than he does against regular fireball-zoners too.
I also feel she does well vs. Abel, Chun, Deejay, Dudley, E.Ryu and Gen.
Some other characters she might have a slight adv. against (like 5.5-4.5 in her favor) are Sagat, Dhalsim and Oni, but I need more experience in those matchups to really form a solid opinion about it.
What kind of attitude is that? Horrible.
Chun, Gen and Dhalsim are not in her favour as far as i can tell. Chun especially, how is a character that can do practically everything that Juri has but better in Juri’s favour?
Chun and Juri are very different characters, definitely not a “same character but better”-comparison between them.
Juri is just really good at limiting Chun’s options, the only time Chun really controlls the match is with super stocked.
They are different characters with very similar tools just that Chun’s are better. Chun has better and safer pokes, a slow fireball that can be used to walk behind, her reversal actually hits both sides, is faster and has more invincibility(lol unlike expinwheel), she has an airborn overhead she can combo off of and cancel off her godlike pokes (as opposed to forward medium kick), a neutral jump roundhouse with more range, a reliable fuzzy guard which is also a airborn juggle starter + its got better priority than Juri’ j.mp and leads into her Ultra 2 alot more reliably, an instant overhead that works on more characters than Juris J.Hp and thats about all i can think of right now bro.
You can rush chun down. You also can zone her. It’s not a horrible matchup.
Sim is favorable to sim because his keep away is better than your rush down except in fse.
i dunno man, lud made us look pretty damn free.
it’s sad but true. We’re soo split up from each other that the good juri players can’t take the baby juris under our wing and we’re busy trying to create tech for all of us to use, not to mention ourselves. Trust me i love the juri community and do my best to provide info for all of us.
modest, huh? isn’t the point of the board to discuss, share, give advice and receive criticism? so to say that the ‘better’ juri’s are too busy developing technology that’s either too much of a mind fuck for the lesser, or they’re just not good enough to utilize it is just poor form man. all that’s doing is discouraging the lesser players from posting on what’s already a pretty dead board if i’m honest.
