It cant, you take no damage.
A few matchups that are killing me: Bison, Adon and Honda.
Bison I find no way to escape or counter the pressure game, same goes for Adon.
Honda I manage the game better, but I’m still losing a lot.
I see thanks Kail for the info. I gotta learn that corner pressure that one of her strengths. I’ve been using blocks strings and ending with release low Fjin and if they block I use S.HK I heard it cancels it. >.< arghh PS3 underwater network >.<
Bro, use her teleport dash to escape the pressure in the corner.
Bison is somewhat difficult for me but, intend to throw his behind the corner and beat him up with some corner pressure and mix it up with grabs. But watch out for his mashing cr.lk like some Bison players do. Also, try to zone him as well to give you some room and punish his jump ins.
Adon well, zone him I guess I really don’t this match up as much always getting blow up sometimes I just be safe and wait for the opening to go in and beat him. I know J-tooth can be punish by cr.mp clean I’m not to sure on it.
Honda is just zone and keep him out.
I hope this helps I’m not the best but, hope it’s helps man
Don’t be afraid to cross-up Honda, make him lose his back charges. Abuse Sekku on him and he’ll eventually learn to stand up and lose his down charge.
Other than that, dive kicks seem to pretty consistently beat his headbutts. You can also jump back roundhouse or M fuhajin.
I’m still not sure which ultra is better vs Honda. I usually go for U2 simply because it beats headbutts and buttslams. U2 has made me come back a lot of times when Honda was trying to chip me for the kill. Every time I used U1 on Honda I regretted it. He seems to escape FSE pressure fairly easily with ex headbut, ex buttslam and orochi throw.
wtf Sekku combos don’t even work on Vega or what? during fse I mean.
Medium punch whiffs on crouching Vega alot, both standing and crouching versions.
quick question, i know the knowlegable way to deal wit dp characters is respect their wakeup but ive see in the matchup thread (akuma) that juri can stuff his dp wit j.faps. how is this done exactly? is there a way u supposed to jump in? whats the timing in when u should press j.faps? cause ive been in training mode with me playing akuma and recording juri doing a knockdown and do a j.faps on wakeup and i can dp her out of that everytime.I dont know if this is practical or im jus doing it wrong
Do like a back throw, walk forward and j.faps. It will take some time. Learn it. Your foot has to aim for his head. Because of the forward nature of dp it will move forward and whiff.
Also, fireball store will beat akuma dp.
Also, use fireballs as shields. I start a lot of my offense with mk fireball on wake up. The invincibility of the dp will run out and you’ll hit the fireball.
I am getting seriously walked on by Blanka players, it just isn’t… right
I can’t punish balls on block either, I can’t get the timing down on the dash forward to lk pinwheel. I can sit here and block his gimmicks/mixups all day, but I can’t punish anything. I’ll be looking for some vids of good Juri players fighting Blankas, but really I just can’t seem to wrap my head around this matchup. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a lot of Blanka experience so when one does show up I’m stumped, but it feels like I have to play this matchup differently than any other matchup in the game and it is highly aggravating.
Any tips/vids would be appreciated. It seems I’ve read through his matchup section on the front page dozens of times more than anyone else’s… sigh until I breakthrough though I’ll need to spend a while longer in training.
EDIT: As I say that, I’ve got the timing down on the lk senpusha punish now… hopefully this helps me a bit.
Well, if you can’t punish Blanka balls on block, try punishing them on reaction with cr.mp or jump back roundhouse. Or on anticipation with fuhajins.
cr.mk and senpusha beats Electricity. Sekku can counter hit his slide. Close st.lk will hit Blanka when he tries to hop to the other side, then you can dash under try to hit confirm a pinwheel.
Hmm… interesting, especially the close st.lk dash under (I love dash under shenanigans so I’m sure I’ll put that one to use)
Thank you for the thought provoking tips.
If he’s giving you tons of trouble, you gotta hit the lab and try to simulate stuff that blanka players are doing to you. That’s the best way to train yourself to react to thing such as blanka balls and when he rainbow rolls over you. Juri has to take all opportunities blanka gives her and shove it down his throat.
Ok, so according to my online stats, Rose and Yang are the 2 characters I have the most trouble with. I rarely win vs those 2 characters for some reason.
Rose - She just seems untouchable at times. With her godlike backdash and crazy ass footsies. I also find it hard to pressure her on wake up because of her EX spiral, ultra 2 and backdash.
Yang - I guess it’s mostly my lack of experience in this matchup. I don’t fight a lot of Yangs… But Yun seems easier for some reason.
I’d like to know how you guys approach these matchups.
I’m starting to understand shoto matchup for Juri little bit better after playing few matches online. Staying out of footise range and zone them and wait for a punish they I need to work on too lol. Chun li matchup is still boring me I gonna hit the lab and see what happens and Rose, match up is in the middle for me because I use to main her not anymore because she is boring as hell.
Hades, firstly I would probably keep your distance away from Rose because her footise is better and predicted the backdash to most Rose intend on doing that I think you can punish it with Ex pinwheel but, hit the lab and check it out. But, when Rose has no meter rush her down but beware of it AA also some setups and pressure in the corner best way in my opinion.
Yang zone him best way you can. I have no knowledge on the match up myself I heard from someone in Juri forum too zone him out.
Hope that helps man
Rose is on paper is easier than it is in reality. You can option select her with pinwheels on jumps or ground pressure. You can dive kick her fireballs. You win the zone war. You can j.hp her c.hp and at worse trade. When she has meter you can bait the ex spiral easily. You have to just be careful on spirals when to get in there. I suggest learning to spot sparks off of normals. Like c.mk xx spark. You can pinwheel through this. roses use it as a buffered special from a poke.
Train rose to block then you fuzzy guard
Pressure with fireballs in the corner. Your fireballs are slow and is tough to go through with spiral, especially ex mid.
You have a lot more pressure tools than she does. Use them. Get the kd and kill.
Ex spiral has invincibility frames on start up, but you can grab her out of her, from what i hear. Hk IA dive kick will make her respect you if she backdashes, you will catch her. Know your frame data for footsies, juri has only one 3 frame move, but you gotta get close to her, she won’t let you get close to her. if you feel she is up in your shit to much, ex pinwheel only if she’s tossing out too many meaty pokes. You can lk pinwheel after a soul spiral, but be aware of rose’s distance when she does it. This is because she can make it safe if she hits you with the tip. I’m pretty sure rose slides on you and then grabs you. That shit is hella unsafe and you can pretty much blow it up with a punish, it’s only safe if she spaces it out, but i see a lot of roses just throw it out there. The ideal place for juri to be in this match up is on the other side of the screen building meter in a fireball war. There is no real gen strat for her, only just make the most of your punishes.
For yang, zone him out and don’t let him get the life lead or put you in the corner. Do not jump in on him, he will punish the fuck outta you. If he has u2, be aware of how close he is to you before you stock fireball or let a fuhajin go. And if you can’t figure him out, he’ll be nerfed soon, so that match up will be one of juri’s easiest.
Damn you guys are good I’m still a noob at this match up knowledge.
for yang, just wait till AE ver 2012 patch. juri will probably go even with him or even win.
