Juri has no options when fighting Juri.
I understand what your saying. Basically, Yun pushes himself to a distance that dive kick will fall on C.strong hitbox. That’s understandable; however, about using U2. Would it be that far fetched to land j.strong, jump ex dive kick, U2? Yun is a jumpy character so if you spot one couldn’t you just let that rip?
Most solid Yun’s are doing dive kicks too low and close to reliably land j.MP on them unless done preemptively (good chance Juri’ll still whiff). However, if they’re doing dives from max height or regular jump-ins, I would try to make a read and punish with that combo. I don’t come across many Yun’s that do that though =\
Agreed. It is possible to fish for it, but most of the twin players i’ve fought are not jumping unless they are applying divekick pressure or trying for a meaty crossup.

Heh, I think Adon is a great secondary for any Juri player. He can fight Vs Mak, Fei and Yang more easily, and has mobility similar to Juri. Because a lot of Juri players are already looking to punish projectiles with Shikusen, that transfers right over to Adon’s air Jaguar Tooth, or EX Jaguar kick.
Fighting Adon with Juri really depends on how they are pressuring you. If they are doing a lot of Jaguar Tooth, hold a HK or MK fuhajin and space yourself so when you see them in the air, you can stuff it. You can also try for a fast j.MP or J.HK. If they are doing Jaguar kick, just n.j and HK on the way down and hopefully combo his recovery. Sometimes they will wise up and not come at you all the way, but you can Shikusen in the air and approach. If Adon is playing the s.HK and cr.mp game, charge LK and MK fuhajin outside of poking range and frustrate him until he goes to the air, then apply the counters for that approach.

What seems to be the matter with the match up?
I have a money match tonight. Not for big money or anything, mostly for bragging rights. Apparently hes a Oni/Abel player. Can someone confirm, there is no EX slash from oni that is safe from Ultra on reversal, right? Thats gonna be my ace in the hole mixed in with my rush down and the fact that he CANT fireball vs me ever.
vs Abel is a different story. I KIND of know the match up. I have reactions to beat his wheel kick, he probably wnot know about sc.mk beating throws. My fuzzy guard will eat him alive. I’m basing my win on the abel match up purely on my offense and my knowledge of fuzzy guards.
Tips, strategies? What about for feeling an opponent out?
Practice OSing throw for Abel too. Dont abuse the fuzzy guard, he could find out that he can air grab you but that’s also part of the mixup I guess. Abuse it then if he finds a way out start going low. Im not really sure what else. Just don’t let him get the pressure first.
Edit: when it comes to feeling out an Abel player I would say it’s all about looking at their wake up plan. Do they want to actually get out or hurry and go into their knockdown mixup aka roll or tornado throw that’s basically all he has.
Oni: too stop the ex slash just mash jab or short and go into a combo from there. I wouldnt recommend ultra’ing it’s still vulnerable but the invincibility is just all timing.

VS Oni, his FB recovery is pretty bad. You can focus through and hit him w/ a good combo especially if you have a FB stored. So you can beat his fireball normally w/ a divekick from farther away or put some hurt on him by focusing thru. Just got to pay attention to see if he starts to delay his FB. I dont remeber if his OH is punishable on block.
The ex slash if you time FSE activation at the right time, it moves Juri forward and the slash misses.
VS Abel, if he knows what to do He’ll take the set. Abel has answers for everything vs Juri if you come out on top it’ll be because you exploited his wake up, and because he doesnt know his options. Things to look for is if he cancels into CoD on block, badly spaced wheel kicks which are punishable, and badly spaced uncanceled sweeps. If he starts to wait for your close whiffed Fb stores and focusing thru you OH your in trouble.
For oni, as long as I block the Ex slash I can ultra him no problem as long as its on reversal timing. Thats not the issue. I prefer to just block the slashes because of this. If I want to punish him for using it I’m just going to c.hp xx pinwheel him.
I feel comfortable vs abel only because of my rush down ability. FSE in this match up all the way. I can keep an abel locked down quite quell. Its just when hes on top of me im really scared. .
Hmmn on Oni slash I dont know if I remember right but I think you can fse through all of them and recover in time to block the ex one.

Against Oni you will probably lose because you cant fuzzy him, against Abel you should win so long as you fuzzy him all the time.
If I was a betting man, I bet that Kail will say “I don’t agree” at least one time during the money match. Not sure what the over/under is on that tho.
lol. Heres a way to land a fuzzy on Oni. If you neutral jump his HK slash you make him block the back leg of your HK. This makes him face the other way and you can fuzzy HP him since its from behind.
edit: or maybe not I tried it again but its hard to time the block and then crouch at the end of the slash when recording so i dont know which one is right
I beat his Oni free. Rushed him down hard, through fireballs in the corner and pressured him after a blocked fireball. 2-0.
Had a hard time against Abel. Round 2 in match 3 I tried fuzzy guard. Blocked correctly so I pulled back on it. I hit him with it once because the crowd asked for it. Lol.
His Abel was free also. All in all I went 5-1 took the change home. He did better with Abel. I kept eating silly things like dash up ex tt. Don’t know why.
He didn’t know why his step kick mix up didn’t work on block. Didn’t tell him that juri puts Abel in a 50/50 also. He ate throws after blocked steps all day. Then when he threw I scmk him. I think that annoyed him.
It wasn’t recorded rather it was streamed and narrated by iloveujoe. (I’m mad my phone learned iloveujoe and corrected be lol). I giggled when he called my fuhajin traps purple rain. :3.
Was fun. Just glad I won because the guy was a trash talker and came through and called long island free (we are a little free) and tried to be big and he paid me little mind as I’m new to the scene. I must not be worth his time because I wasn’t around that long. -.-

Anyone got any advice for fighting Sakura? I checked the match up info on the first page but it only listed what you couldn’t do. Any clues on what works against her?
