Yeah, it’s nothing personal. I guess it kinda takes having to have done the balls themselves to have an eye for getting things 100% right. I don’t know if you were following, but I spent a good six weeks just getting the process down to drill this stuff. Anyway you weren’t off by much, but enough. The holes just weren’t 100% square to the balls, and as a result the tops would come out like gearshift knobs: seriously heavy to one side.
It’s okay. I’m going to hit a bunch of decking stores this weekend to pick up a bunch of composite wood samples and maybe if I make a pictorial of how to make the jig, later on someone else can take this up. It’s just an expensive hobby what with the bit costing $160 by itself. :x
Alright, I haven’t read the whole thread yet so i’m unsure if anyone’s made the joke.
Numbski your balls are absolutely amazing. So Smooth and Shiney. I would love to put one of your balls on top of my stick and then move it in various directions in order to illicit a response.
Ooooh, I think I have heard every variation of jokes about people liking my balls, me busting my balls, polishing my balls, etc etc etc that there is out there.
Of course, if you have something original to contribute, by all means…
A man goes to Spain and attends a bullfight. Afterwards he goes to a nearby restaurant and orders the specialty of the day.
The waiter brings him two very big balls on a plate, which the tourist eats with relish.
The next day he goes to the same restaurant again and orders the specialty of the day. Again he is brought two very big balls on a plate.
It tastes even better than the day before.
On the third and the fourth days he gets the same, but on the fifth day they bring him two very small balls on a big plate.
The man asks: "What gives?"
The waiter says: "Senor, the bullfighter doesn’t always win!
When you get going again Numbski let me know order some balls.
Hey, if you’re still making balls, do you have anything really light in the 35mm size, like aluminum or something? I’m looking for something substantially lighter than the traditional sanwa/seimitsu balltops. I like the spring response of the 30mm balltops due to their low weight, but they are just too small too play on. You got anything??
So far as what I’m selling, as it’s available, it will be posted in this thread. Right now I have two black torpedoes, but no pictures yet. I also have a single pink (potential buyer for that one already).
I’m intending to do more this week, so by the weekend I should have a decent selection. I’m also about to order some stone balls too!
I do have one in fact. I have a grey D20 with red lettering. I’ll ship there, but I can’t say I know how much it will be. :\ PM me your address and I’ll approximate from that. $15 for the top + that shipping.
On the fluorite stone balls, understand that my investment goes way up - like the materials are easily a factor of 2 more expensive and more. If the price of those is $35/ball is anyone interested? I don’t want to order and get these rolling, only to find out that the price is too steep.
