Well that makes me feel stupid.
I’ve been corrected. The balls that I’ve been calling Torpedo Metal to this point…well, aren’t. The correct name is “Meteor”. Torpedos have a a definitely, consistent blue metal finish to them, whereas Meteor has a weird multicolor effect. :\
Oh well, no harm, since I’m taking pictures of individual balls being sold, but still…makes me feel stoopid.
Well, they all weathered the weekend, so I’m shipping today! 
FYI, I have a couple of penny auctions ending around lunchtime today. Another ending this evening.

Chipper, I’m getting yours ready, should still go out today. zombie cpt - you’ll get a partial order shipped out, as I don’t want to do any more until the new bit comes in, which won’t be until after I return from Montreal, so rather than make you wait, I’m going to ship what I have. hexonyou, it might be tricky to fill your order (it came in last) but I’ll do what I can to get it done prior to leaving, if not, you’ll be at the top of the list upon returning.
Everyone’s tops went out today except for Chipper and heXonYou.
Inserts were acting funny on the wood tops, so I held off a day. Hex, man, it’s going to be after I get back from Montreal. Sorry.

hey numbski, if it means waiting till after you get back, just send me the woodtops as is and I can glue in the inserts myself assuming there’s no special trick to it. (I have some industrialish glues)
Oh there’s a trick to it. 
It’s called getting the hole drilled straight in, and getting the insert in straight. 
I have a wooden bat top here I made yesterday, but it’s not even close to being straight. I couldn’t sell it in good conscience. Looks pretty cool though. 
Actually, I switched wood inserts. These screw into a 3/8" hole. So no glue required. I’ll get yours out today. What happened is I was trying to thread them in with a flathead screwdriver that just plain wasn’t wide enough, and I was tearing up the insert. I’m not going to send out crap.
Oh, and I got the drill bit ordered. No one has accused me of making things up, but just in case anyone ever stops and says “Numbski is so full of it. Drill bits DO NOT cost that much!” I say to you, this:

Man numbski. You know, I would have picked that stick up if it weren’t for the fat hole on the side which I probably could have patched up pretty easily :P. ALso, I wasn’t quite as rich back then. Love the new paint job :).
