Yeah, I need to work on that. Right now, I just go for resets, since I cancel the OTG into pipe too early, so I get a ground bounce from the pipe. Although, I don’t think that would mess up a RFF.
As for Frank, will try that double picture thing.
Been seeing some people do some mixups/resets using a dash/roll/Rapid Slash with Spencer’s angled grapple. It work well with Frank?
I’m sure you could set up something. Maybe at level 3 for example you could do the following:
End with jumping QCF+H then standing H (call Spencer) and roll. Cancel to zombie. This way you either get the reset (and can combo off the Zombie toss) or the zombie keeps you safe on block. I have some ideas I can do with this I might make a video with when I get home.
Whoa, you don’t got those?! That is like, THE, reason to use Haggar/Spencer/Frank, and it’s a brilliant tool. Anti-air assist is definitely the way to go, you can go dropkick and assist (one or the other comes first), pipe, QCF+H and cancel the shoulder hit of the axe (while they are still grounded, though check to see if you get the hit with the axe, otherwise just pipe into fist), and go into rapid fire fist. If you don’t use the ground bounce, Frank can tag and get pics, more with lariat, that’s a level 5 from anywhere. Though resetting with that is mighty hot.
After any large of medium amount of hitstun RFF’s final shots flip out if they’re not airborne, so while they’re bouncing they’d flip.
Edit: Oh, you meant you don’t have the timing for the spencer aa assist to restand, not that you don’t use spencer restand. My bad.
For now here’s a video I made way back about basic combos to get Frank to level 5 using this team .
This was done before the H&H patch the follow-up I use doesn’t work anymore and there are more hits to RFF now. A simple follow up is call Haggar, snapshot, M Roundhouse then snapshot again.
So yeah, otging with Haggar and Spencer AA assist into a grounded rapid fire fist is annoying as hell. Labbed it for the first time ever.
Well, I got something basic for Haggar. cr.LM Pipe QCF+M S, MMH Pipe, Tag, Call Spencer and Pic, S, MMHS or knee, Call Haggar and Pic, Pic, Hyper. Works, DHC to Spencer for Stupid Damage, yay no wall bounce. Level 4. You can probably expand.
what hard tag setups does dante have that you know of? ive just recently started learning frank and have figured some setups using spiderman, but havent been able to figure any hard tag setups starting with dante yet.
i know his sky dance will sometimes give an extended groundbounce if you make the last hit whiff, but thats something ive always had trouble with setting up consistently since its very finnicky with the height restriction. if you know of any others i would appreciate the info.
The sky dance is the only one that I know of and especially since once you learn it you can even loop it a few times. Dante is mostly the best choice due to DHC from Million Dollars is a free level 5 (since you can call Jam Session and double snap), Jam Session is a godlike assist with two pictures and can even guarantee a level 4 off a Frank throw, his powerup super, and his piss easy double snap THC. Dante has a little bit of everything to help out Frank.
Got one for the list, Jill can setup a head height BLS with picture followup by DHCing off DP xx Machine Gun Super, 60+ hits off the right combo.
What’s the optimal combo for Frank point + missiles? I feel like there’s an assist timing to get picture, kneedrop, picture xx super but i haven’t found it yet. I can get two pictures, but the second is too high to get a super cancel.
Edit: Also what’s the trick for the Doom Air Photons into whiffed Survival Techniques? It’s not causing knockdown for me, tried DHCing early and late. DOUBLE EDIT: Never mind, got it, seems like they need to be bouncing above it instead of caught right in the middle?
Pretty late on the Jill one, I covered it about 2 months into Ultimate.
Comboing after a Somersault–> MGS is distance and amount of Character specific. On One character it crosses your opponent up and allows the DHC (On P1 side), but on one character on P2 side it doesn’t cross up.
task/trish/frank bnbs that are guaranteed level 5, no tac bullshit. there’s other variations but these build the most meter that i can find, and you can sub in stuff to lower/increase damage/increase meter gain.
Wow, I’ve been going back and forth between Frank teams. Hell, I might just pick this up today, this shit is awesome, and I love Taskmaster, and know a bit of Trish.
So, based on this video, and some brainstorming/labbing, I came up with a few nice combos for Taskmaster/Vergil/Frank, Taskmaster gets an extension into forward arrows from Rapid Slash, and the DHC to swords can lead to a lunar phase landing 100 hits, or better yet, corner sword loops, wall bounce, more lewps, kinda getting absurd at points (the phrase “unstoppable” comes up a lot). Vergil gets the meterless conversion off a rapid slash with Task arrows, very fast crossups and a few fun resets with cart, and can DHC from his air maximum Vergil into whiffed tools if the ground bounce on lunar phase is gone. And Frank can extend combos with Rapid Slash quite well, and allows you to zone quite well with Taskmaster or even pie and chainsaw zoning.
There are only a few problems I see with Vergil instead of Trish, and this is less a problem and more a lack of awesome stuff.
Taskmaster has unblockable setups with Vergil and Frank, but Frank’s assist is better for it (it’s more foolproof than Vergil’s, which depends on space), yet I have to use Vergil’s assist so that I can keep cart and convert the unblockable into a full combo (Sword loop silliness lets it kill anyone if you have the meter), but the better unblockable setup leaves me no way to convert off it, unless I spend extra meter or pop the kaioken.
Taskmaster loses his throw conversion if he grabs while Frank’s cart is mowing along. It’s a shame, because I plan on spamming the hell out of that assist.
The lack of Trish’s shield makes my incoming game slightly less terrifying. And Rapid Slash is less useful in neutral than peekaboo.
Trish Scythe super and Tasky’s unblockable probably have some scary tech together.
Pros to the Vergil team exist as well: More extension for Frank, Frank gets to level 5 off a Tasky bnb even if I used cart in neutral beforehand, I get s much better candidate for anchor/x-factor, Vergil has a few great combos for levelling Frank by himself in case Tasky dies, and the fact that I get Vergil on my team.
So, should I try Tab’s new team, or the similar team with Vergil? Well, I’m trying both, but opinions, people? Also, does anyone know a Trish combo that leads to a level 4 or 5 Frank that does not include X-factor? Something in case Tasky dies?
TACing into frank and then photo-> either super->boomerang->photo is the obvious one. if you hit them with a full air magic series you can actually do boomerang->shopping cart and get to almost level 4 + followup (i tested it and you get a kneedrop)
if you get them into the corner you can do the j.m divekick hopscotch combo, but at st.H relaunch portion call frank, canceled into round trip and do the boomerang relaunch for 4 levels.
