Frame Trapped 3 - Feedback and Discussion - Open Beta Live

@matt_ - we closed the github after our code base started to contain code that could be used to make cheats that would break the game if just put on a silver platter. That and it means Lullius and I can ensure a high standard for commits and code that gets merged into our builds.

@Enochrewt Can you email me with the details of your build and any logs or errors you get? It would help me log the issues with potential hardware, email is on the home view of FT.

@dancemasterglenn The Alpha involves the new multi threading for the hitbox viewer and the new hit box viewer features (Position boxes, Charge Indicator fixes and speed adjustment improvements) but it’s alpha due to it being with the injection process, we put the Injected code into the GAC with this build so it’s a new approach for us, hence the experimental alpha build.

I can’t get the game window to open up within frame trapped. I followed the instructions, and I have it setup but when I press the load SF4 button it opens outside the program. I guess windows 8.1 is not compatible?

@Habu - Once the game was running and windowed, did you hit “host game window” in FT?

@Xeolleth - Thanks for letting me know the changes in the alpha, if I have a chance I will try to test it out for you sometime soon. I also wanted to properly respond to continue our conversation about the points I brought up forever ago… life has been a bit too hectic for me to sit down and write a long post. :frowning: I hope that soon I can continue with the feedback and help with polishing things up!

You’re right it’s not yet compatible with Windows 8.x, as we don’t have a W8 bild machine yet it makes debugging those situations nigh impossible. We’re trying to work it out though.

No worries dude, look forward to the feedback.

This shit really helps me.
Is there some kind of option to just play the sound cues while I’m training instead of playing back the whole combo?

Basically the sound cues are all I need to get more consistent with my combos.

I had this originally but people expected it to work outside of training which lead to a botched attempt at separating the two parts. I’ll work on adding it back in!

Thanks a lot, man.

In the mean time you can use windows sound recorder to record the audio cues. I made a loop of an FADC combo that I have trouble with and play it in between matches to help me get the timing in my head.

did anyone found the way of making the game work normally when you activate the hitboxes ?

@stormdetonation - can you make a video or something showing what you did, with your cue recording? If I’m understanding you and @ArtVandelay I think I’d also like to see this alternate option for sound cues get back into the program somehow…

Essentially, what makes what you guys are talking about different from the playing back a combo with audio cues as it is currently implemented in FT?

The difference is that I am able to play while the combo audio is running.
Right now the only reason why I need the dummy to play a combo back in training room, is to see if the combo I made actually works.
After that I want to be able to make the audio cues loop with 2 seconds of buffer in between, 99 times or more so I can just go to training room and grind it out to build that muscle memory.

I don’t know about a video, but I can give you directions…

  1. enter your combo into FT3 and make sure it works. Since the FADC timing in my combo was the part giving me trouble, I entered a simple 3 link, cancel, FADC combo and had it repeat 20 times. With my bar set to infinite, FT could get a 99 hit combo by FADCing it over and over.
  2. make sure to click the icons for the cues you want to record.
  3. click the allow input button in FT3 so that it is off. You don’t want any game audio in your recording.
  4. open sound recorder (it’s part of windows, but any audio recording software should work)
  5. hit record in your recording software, then click play in FT3. Remember to stop your recording promptly after FT finishes so the gap at the end of the loop isn’t as long.

Here’s an example audio file I made for Juri’s cr.lk>st.lp>fs.mpxxmk pinwheel FADC. The pause between cues is the delay you need after FADCing while she’s dashing.

It’s really difficult for me to get it to work on windows 8. I assume its works alright with windows 7? I can’t get the Combo trainer to work anymore.

I’m on windows 7, and since installing frame trapped sfiv no longer loads. I get a black screen after the nvidia logo shown, and the game seems to freeze. any ideas?

Try restarting Steam and make sure SSFIV.exe isn’t running first. It can be a sync issue with Steam.

Is there a place where you can download the older versions of Frame trapped? I used to be able to view the hitboxes while being in fullscreen mode, but after the 3.3 patch I’m forced to run it windowed or it crashes.

That is something we’re actively working on fixing. Re: the old installers - they can be found here though run the clean up utility if you have any trouble with new installation changes, make sure you remove all the new stuff before installing an older version.

Nope, doesn’t work. I actually can’t load sfiv at all, even without frame trapped running.

It just stops at a black screen.

Safe to say it’s an issue with Steam then mate, nothing to do with FT. However - have you tried rebooting your PC? Logging out of Steam? Verifying your Ultra Street Fighter 4 game cache? All these can help these issues. Give us more info to see if we can help.

I did all those things, sfiv still will not load
