Is it possible to use frame trapped without steam?
I already own the game on my console and i don’t want to buy the game again on steam just to be able to use the program.

No mate, it’s a PC version only and as the official version is on Steam, that is the only one we’ll support.
Hello, I’m here to report a minor bug.
When you turn off the HUD (in options), the colors of the hitboxes seem to turn black, which makes them hard to see.

edit
Positioning the HUD off-screen seems to be a solution, though.
Thanks for the report AND workaround! I’ll keep this in mind when updating to see if we can fix it.
@Angerus - I’m happy to say we’ve fixed this bug and it’ll be in the next patch. Once I’ve cleaned some other minor issues up and created the new installers / updaters I’ll post here again and you will get the automatic updates.
IIRC I informed you of that bug back in the beta a long time ago. I never checked if it was fixed, did it pop back up in a new version or something?
It was fixed but only on some hardware, we’ve completely reworked the draw calls for the hit-boxes now and even eliminated sticky boxes. A lot of improvements under the hood.
Ah cool stuff
Can someone help me with frametrapped?
I’m trying to get Ryu’s and Ken’s BnB combo’s down. Is it possible for me to record them and play them back with some kind of sound indicator so I would have kind of a rhythm game going on?
Started up the program and it all looks very technical and I don’t really know where to start.
@Xeolleth or anyone else that knows… is it possible to have a timeline hold a command and input others while holding? I’m trying to do some Juri Fuhajin combos, but I can’t figure this out.
I’ve tried entering 2 3 6 all at 1 frame then a kick for more (tried up to 200) then entering the next input, but it waits until the kick is released to continue. I also tried leaving the kick’s duration at 1f and entering the same kick in every line after to try to trick the game into thinking it was being held (since there shouldn’t be any frames left to release the button) but that didn’t work either.
I’m not sure how important this would be to other characters, but fuhajins and negative edge are a big part of Juri’s high damage combos.
Anyway, aside from this I love Frame Trapped. Thanks to you and all those that you’ve worked with for putting it together.
Yeah, enter the commands for the combos in the window at the bottom right. (to do that hit the + button, enter the input for that frame, then adjust the time it’s held if you need to, then hit the + again and enter the next input, etc, etc, etc…). Once you have the combo entered and working, click the little speaker icon on the lines that you want to hear the audio cue.
oops double post. Sorry bout that.
After a bit more tweaking I figured it out. Entering the kick to be held on every line worked, the problem was coming from me releasing it at the same time that another fireball was being stored causing the 2nd fireball to come out as an EX.
PLEASE make it so you can save several random or alternating inputs for the auto-reversal function.
Also to anyone struggling to get this function working. You have to have the keyboard 1 and 2 on the default settings, and you have to make sure you’re pressing the button on the keyboard corresponding with keyboard 1, not 2. I made this mistake too for the longest time.
You don’t need them on the default settings, but when you set the dummy you do need to set them to the corresponding controls. We’re planning on expanding on the auto reversal and make a “random reversal” option, as well as a “footsie trainer”.
Also - Announcing the latest patch update:
Version 3.3 is now available. Includes the latest Hitbox viewer perks, including charge indicators and slow motion improvements.
Stacks to add your favourite community collections to Frame Trapped for updated combos from * * the internet * *.
Director functions! Take control of the camera with your mouse and keyboard, set it to a static position or disabled the cinematics for all their raw glory.
Try staring it in Administrator mode.
That did the trick, thanks!
Edit: You can set ‘Player X Off’ to just play the audio.
If I enable player two in game, I can no longer play combos from player one, it will only play player two combos (though it will play the audio from player 1). This continues even after I have set the training mode back to ‘None’ from ‘Human’.
Also is this still on github somewhere? It seems the old repo is gone, and the website no longer has a link to it.
Hi,
I’m having trouble getting Frame Trapped 3.3 to work. I can lauch USF4 from within it just fine, but when I try and turn on hitboxes USF4 crashes out with something along the lines of “Game crashed with error id 255”. I know the error ID is 255 for sure, but I am at work and not in front of the machine. I’ve tried running Frame Trapped as an Administrator, and I’ve tried all manner of graphics settings from everything on max, to minimum settings. I was thinking I’d try some compatibility mode settings when I got home, but I’m at a loss as to what else to try.
I’d love to get this working and any help you can give me will be much appreciated. Thanks!
@Xeolleth - I noticed there’s an optional alpha build on the main site. What are the changes in that build?
