Hey guys, Dan says he can come play with us Friday (but not Saturday).
Any chance of gaming with anyone this Friday? If so please speak up early so no one misses out. That sort of hurt our attendance on Saturday I think since SRK was down and we couldn’t communicate in time.
Actually, I can do Saturday now, I just may show up a little late. I’m no longer headed to that bachelor party. How late do you guys usually play?
Also, how many of you are playing HDR? It’s my game of choice at the moment. I haven’t touched SFIV or BB in quite some time.
I may have to help Ryan unpack Sat. since he’s moving back, but I should be done by the time we would want to play. So ya I’m down for Sat. or Fri.

Chris - yeah perhaps Ken might be a little better for you after what I seen tonight. I am glad that you, Damdai, Fortis, and Arches all played tonight.
Like I said, I’m not sure it really showed but I did pick up on an important lesson tonight regarding my spacing/patience and I think in the long run I’ll make it shine. I tend to make progress slowly anyway. Been slowly improving at ST/HDR for like 5 or 6 years now and still improving from our games a few hours ago.
Also I hope the training with Harmon is paying off for him too. I will eagerly await to see how things go for him either August 29 or October 17. 
To everyone, on a side note I have changed the title of this thread. I guess no one is really feeling the Vega love like I was. Basically the Fort Wayne thread for the past 2 or 3 months has consisted of people from Decatur, Auburn, New Haven, Bloomington, Indianapolis, and the state of Ohio posting, but no one from Fort Wayne. Thank goodness Dan has started posting here to help change that.
I’m just wondering if the Fort Wayne crew is falling apart here online? I know we still gather at various places and play several weekends and that’s cool. Just seems like it’s impossible to get much of a conversation going on here, fighting game related or not.
I think if it’s ok with the Indianapolis folks I might just start migrating over towards their thread and perhaps in a sense it will become more of a “state of Indiana” thread. To me that seems like the best idea if they are ok with it. Any other suggestions? I just notice that the Indy thread is highly active including a healthy discussion of all sorts of fighting games and I guess that’s something I look for and expect when posting on a fighting game mega forum like this.
Cleveland was dead for about 3 years until after SB3 I started hosting game night – now Cle is still dead but we have 4 people getting together each week at least, haha. Welcome to my world!

Hey thanks, I have no idea what I’m doing against Sim, I just figure if I stay in his ass I can break him down. Phareed was really good, very nice guy too, talked to me for like 5 minutes after the match. Commentators at EVO = :tdown: apparently this year, I watched my match vid and heard “jesus” used over 9,000 times. I liked Ski-sonic somewhat though. Everyone’s riding s-kill for his banter but all he did was play-by-play. Pretty sure I saw Justin doing cr. jab x3 there sherlock.
I heard the livestream chat was horrible though, all kinds of racist horrible shit because people could sign in anonymously…not the smartest move.
Oh I know, it was just a shit-storm of cluster-fuck. I jumped for joy when I realized I could turn the chat off from the Evo2k.com/live link. The commentators were really hit or miss imo. There were some parts where I enjoyed their commentary, but then there were other parts (like the Guilty Gear/Soul Calibur 4/BB) parts where they didn’t know ANYTHING about the game, and the whole time was just about explaining the game engine, not giving any play-by play (which is something I’ve come to like). I think gootecks does really good SF4 Play by Play. Oh, I remember watching the 3rd Strike 2v2 part, and they were like “What is this? Noob strike? You just don’t do that shit at a high level!” -this was in responce to a missed super->a missed counter super-> into a successful counter-counter-super. But I did find it amusing to say the least. They certainly tried their best, but they could have gotten better commentators as well.
I did like Seth Kilian’s commentary though, he seemed like he was the only one who knew what they were talking about.
Dogface is always good at talking as well.

Adam - Dave and I were talking on the phone while watching your match and we were both shouting instructions to you but apparently you didn’t hear us cuz you didn’t do what either of us told you. About the commentators I liked Seth and Arturo. I think they give extra insight as to what’s going on more in-depth and even mentally sometimes. Arturo doesn’t have to say “salty” so much but it’s all good. :tup:
Spirit Juice did pretty decent commentary for GG, but he didn’t really talk that much because Evo asked him to hold back on his usual stream of profanity and good-natured shittalking. The other two guys definitely had no clue what they were talking about and on several occasions said things that were flat-out inaccurate. The best part was that you could tell Spirit Juice just wanted to tell them to shut up but he remained polite the whole time.
I didn’t care for the Jesus talk as well. I found it to be very rude. Also, I play BlazBlue but I’m terrible at the game. I play a very scrubby Jin.
