Brent-I have a PS3 slim as well if you want me to bring mine sometime. Saves a lot more power than the original ones too.:wgrin:
Ghetto Dave and FJ - good shit tonight. had a fun time again. i really am trying to improve at this game and get more into it. granted i may dick around some matches (Zangief jumping up headbutts) but i need a break like that from being serious to keep it fresh in my mind and entertain myself if nothing else. haha.
Martell - very nice. that would be a big help. you and FJ might have to be in contact somehow which will be hard, he doesn’t post here often. i know he has talked about bringing his as well sometimes. oh shoot, i forgot to see where i rank for online Vega players. next time if i remember.
hey i don’t know if you guys bothered to watch these videos. they were linked from the front page. Jeff Schaefer was a freaking king of Street Fighter during it’s glory days back through much of the SF2 series and SFA series. he occasionally posts videos on his youtube account and most often i find myself agreeing with him. this man speaks the truth!!! anyway yesterday he just came out with these 3 videos. 2 of them talk about his ideas for how Street Fighter games should ideally go (very interesting) and the 3rd video is him giving tips on how he became one of the top players and how folks today might approach the same goal. i love watching his vids. watching that last one about becoming a top player had me motivated in many things i did the rest of the night. take a look…

I like the tan.
Brent, you know I was on those Jeff Schaefer vids. They were good as always. Learned something/gained something new.
Esp. Since I broke mine, I’m trying to fix it, but the cost is starting to rise…
Edit: Also, I was at like 97% of the trials Plus all the other saves I’ve lost…it’s…heartbreaking… I have one last resort, and I know I can get it to work again, I just gotta be creative? and persistant.
yeah it’s sad but if Schaefer put up a 24 hour stream of just him talking about SF stuff i’d probably waste my days/nights away being glued to it.
um, ok gang here is a brief outlook at the possibilities for this weekend as of right now. apparently they are expecting weather of the worst kind (including freezing rain) so it may be too dangerous to be traveling places, especially for me driving 40 minutes.
also, Milan’s birthday is today so a big happy 27th birthday to Milan!:hitit: ok no, i would not really hit it. but anyway he will be hosting his birthday party at his home this Saturday and obviously is inviting those of us he knows, not including Josh (sorry man).
I already had figured as much when he had even mentioned it.
I wouldn’t be able to come even if I was invited (building up another sudden onset of problems + finals week).
Double post I know, but I just wanted to spectate out loud how interesting it is that I am the only Tekken player in the FW area, and yet when im posting im one of the most active people in the crew. lol. Cmon guys, we need to try and make this thread more active than DOAcentral here.
You may be in luck, sounds like things may still go down at my place on Sat, Josh.
i know none of you could make it but i figured someone might like to see the T3 results from tuesday : http://shoryuken.com/f21/indianapolis-we-do-play-games-i-promise-225521/index41.html#post9924170
thanks for trying to make it out Brent man, i got your number now so i’ll keep you in the loop for everything we got going on down here… and the next T3 will most definitely take place on a Saturday so that FW (and everyone else for that matter) will have a easier time coming
alright folks wish me luck today in the online Galaxy4Gamers Evo tournament. folks like Alex Valle, Vangief, and Wolfkrone are in this event. there are 16 parts to the bracket and they are playing down to the top 8. here are the two brackets put together that i must worry about for today.
so for anyone who doesn’t get it, in order to make top 8 (which is played on a different day) i must win bracket 16 and then defeat the winner of bracket 15. doubtful all this happens but oh well.
hey FJ and Mynd Dave, gg’s at HF last night. that was a true blast from the past. hopefully it doesn’t fully throw you off of your SSF4 tactics. just remember, go crazy with Ken on offense because you have much more freedom and the ability to bust out 100% damage at almost any time.
Haha HF is where its at! RoundHouse cancels make the world go 'round
Nice Brent, felt like I was watching an ST match.
cheeeeeyeah!!! THAT’S HOW YOU DO IT, BOOOOOOOOY!!! :woot:
Shoryuken - Evo Online Brackets!
winner of bracket 16 son! almighty Vega. how did you like the reverse lag tactics there? i couldn’t even think about teching a throw so i got creative (read: desperate) and noticed immediately he was having problem with laggy wall dive spam.
now onto the round of 16 next Saturday to get my ass kicked quickly i’m sure. 15 great SSF4 players + immortalbmw will enter the arena. only 1 will emerge as a winner of a free Evo weekend! bahahahahaha!!! BWO… BWO… BWO… BWO!!!
Very nice, congrats! I’ll try to catch ya on the stream when it’s on. Sorry I couldn’t make it out, lots of family events happening around this time of year. I’m on break starting next week until the end of the year, and though I can’t make it out on weekends (christmas time with both sides of the family), if people end up getting together during the week I might be able to play.
GGs to Crono37 today too! Playing you and Brent has helped me work on some of my worst matchups (Honda, Balrog, Blanka, Bison and Vega).
haha good shit brent
online lag fighter ftw
gooooooood shit brent man… like i said… you’re definitely more in the competitive mindset than the scrub fest you had to swim through (that guile was S.A.D. sad)… now that you’re up against the real comp you should be more adjusted… good luck
edit: actually i resend what i said about them being scrubs… you had German Luger in your pool… that’s 2 great Vega/Claw players in 1 bracket… dig… and then you personally had to beat Geoff the Hero who is a no joke Cammy… one i can’t even beat when he’s drunk i might add… and your first opponent "SupaYoYo’ wasn’t half bad either… infact the only person who was sadly skilled was the guile from the finals … but given this evidence it shows that you are even more prepared than what is seeable … like i said good luck stay vigilant

Martell: your phone’s not working, why?
Everyone: GG’s last night.
i stayed up all nite sifting thru all the recorded stuff to find the pinpoint… brent’s matches start around the 49 minute mark
I don’t play Turbo much but I still check out Shaeffers vids. I like the way he analyzes the game.
Spencer - thank you, i will check those out more closely.
Greg - thanks for finding that. even though i happen to know the connection was very laggy and made us look real scrubby, it was still hard to watch my match. hahaha. but i’m glad you went back and found it.
anyone who is curious about Galaxy4Gamers i have great news. it’s official, Indiana is totally allowed to play so go check it out and sign up for a free account. free until you want to compete on the site, of course. hehe. i got in contact with support from the site. basically what happened was when the laws of Indiana changed over they removed us from the banned state list but accidentally forgot to add us to the drop down menu of selectable states when you fill in the address and information on your account. it was an oversight but now it’s fixed… i checked it out. they just needed someone to make them aware. what would you guys do without me? haha i kid i kid. but seriously it’s interesting stuff. you can take on some top pros as well as a huge list of randoms. all types of skill levels i would assume. good experience and if you are fortunate you will win cash for this experience. it’s like online poker except this is Street Fighter, Blazblue, Tekken, Halo, COD, or whatever you want it to be.
