me personally i like one giant vid with different subsections. in the vid i would just edit in a table of contents at the front to refer to different sections and where they are located… if not in the vid, then in the description. clicking on multiple vids is a nuisance that i really dislike. so like if you were to make a vid on resets you could categorize them however you wnated and then quickly show them in a fast manner… if people wanted to review any specific reset they can just use rewind. also i prefer quick subs since i can just pause video and read if i want to… if not, the text just goaes away quickly and flies into the meat which is the video.
Here’s another mixup trick I never see anyone do, but you can use flight mode to auto-coreect you jumps. It’s not super fast or anything, but it catches people off guard, even more so with IM because he usually can’t do shit if he goes past you.
yeah i saw that in the vid you posted. its a trick thats well known… but not with ironman… and had you not posted it i wouldnt have ever thought to do it with IM…
in case your wondering… that is a staple of sentinel play. ie fly then crossup with s. you dont want to press anything cause you know that s will kill anything that you do… so thats when sent flys over you and crosses you up with it… and as a mixup he wont crossup… LOL gotta love all these big characters slow ass mixups that actually work
I didn’t realize that, I just did on accident a couple weeks ago and thought… cool. I was wondering if anybody could think of any ways to use in a reset or oki situation. Something like dash past when they tech and then hit them in the back. Maybe even anti-tech-roll Option select as if your in front 236SS will just give you a jS and if you they go past you get fly-autocorrect jS. I’ll probably be working on it my self.
Also, I just noticed, that I messed up in the video and the jS>2B didn’t combo…
This thread is really beginning to get me excited! On the c.H tech in my fights I really like going for tridash high/low’s instead of going for a full combo on the first go depending on the opponents life of course. I also use IAD to get the overhead because of how fast it can be, and still stay very very low to the ground.
Since I use Spencer on my team as well (Cap/Spencer/IronMan) I use his up grapple assist to force stand the opponent to make the resets even easier (also prevents them from trying to tech out of the way). With just the slightest of delays you can either continue the combo, or start a reset situation making them guess high or low.
I usually start it off with c.L, c.M, s.H, c.H + Spencer…
That way it’s easy to confirm if the combo hit, or if it didn’t hit I can use Cap assist instead (shield slash) to continue the blockstun only broken up, which gives me the option to throw if I want to as well.
I hadn’t thought of using the fly to autocorrect your direction, that could be extremely useful so I’ll have to start practicing that one.
As for the reset video…I prefer to keep my metabolism up high so I prefer lots of small meals over one large one lol.
Hmm, I might just do small vids, as those are easier for me, and then I can try to make a hub vid thingy (I don’t entirely know how).
Also, I will try to play using a reset oriented approach (when I can’t confirm the full death combo), and see how that goes. I use Jam Session, but what other assists let you end a combo with Smart Bombs>Repulsor/2C. There are mixups of otg smart bombs alone, but they are on the weak side.
Okay, the next video I’m going to be working on will be on hitconfirms. This is one of the most misunderstood things about IM, I hear about people approaching this wrong too often. If you have anything specific you want me to mention please let me know. Eventually, I’m gonna try and eventually tie the video’s together like Dime suggested.
Also, I was playing around with my team the other day (Viper/IM/Dante), and I came up with a few cool things.
Repulsor blast is really good with viper for things up and extending combo’s.
2)Viper’s Burn kick assists causes a soft knock down I believe, either way, it’s very easy to relaunch by doing L Smartbombs>BurnKick, makes 700~800k combos much more consistent to confirm into, and gives me ~600k off a corner throw.
Use the angled proton gun and then call Jam Session as soon as you can, it’s pretty solid at trapping people to force them into a mixup, nto perfect though.
Also, I’ve been experimenting with the repulsor blast assist. I apparently causes a soft knockdown, so I’ve been using it to get relaunches by batting people into it from the air. I don’t really know all the situations it would apply, but it’s boosted my viper BnB to the same place it would be, but now with one less EX move.
i havent played against a good deadpool with ironman… but one thing ive noticed is that he can have issues with dealing with 45 degree angle fireballs just like the rest of the cast… so maybe try superjump and smartbombs simply to get him to switch his patterns and let you get in easier.
your team kinda sucks for taking on lame though since you dont have long range assists other than ironman who is on point. an easier solution might just be to develop some doom game so you can use his beam assist. like my team of IM/arthur/doom can turn into IM/tron/doom or wolvie/ironman/doom etc etc most of the top players ive seen have multiple teams and i think its a good idea in general. another thing you could try with your current team is hold a1 and get tron on point… she works well with unibeam and you can call her boulder plus im to put a good amount of durability on the screen… though yeah its still going to be hard, i like her plus im better than im plus her when facing a good deadpool.
i think the problem is getting projectile advantage in the first place… for instance with arthur versus mags from full screen mags disruptor has the speed to knock arthur out of his startup most of the time… arthur gets projectile advantage on block… but in reality itts just not that easy to get reversal daggers/lances out consistently… so arthur can just jump straight up and fire h crossbow which will make disruptor wiff and hit mags plus give arthur projectile advantage for more lances and stuff. i dont know how IM would go about doing that against deadpool though since hes going to be jumping with m guns all day… but im only theory fighting here, i havent played against one so im just brainstorming. there are other theoretical ways but they are even more way out and id need to check them first before even attempting to mention them… bottom line though is deadpool is simply better than ironman at fullscreen so its something that has to be figured out. ive always seen speed>durability in this game unless its like a super.
