The fuck is this care bear shit!?! :wtf:
I also suggest all players make an effort to trim their pussy hair before a major. Also if you find yourself lactating during a tournament why not offer a cup of fresh warm milk to fellow competitors. This is what F.A.G is all about.
I wanna be the FLAG ENFORCER. If people aren’t polite and practice good sportsmanship, we’ll make them pay! Fuck these cocksuckers who can’t act civilized!!
Related if you guys care about PowerUp Bunkei’s Corner on USTREAM: Bunkei’s view on world events; not affiliated with AlphaISM Radio…
Except this isn’t about trying to ostracize a particular group. Other than maybe whiny jerks.
wondering how many of the people crying about morals and shit, have been on tournaments
i like how 99.9% of SRK members pose like they hard over the net to try to look cool for their useless net buddys, when the reality is that 99.9% of ya are nerds and herbs in real life that are incapable of fighting your way out of a wet paper bag…
btw, don’t get me wrong, i’m not insulting ya, i don’t consider the term nerd as anything derogatory or slanderous. i like nerds. i’d much rather hang with nerds than with jocks/hoodlums/roughnecks/etc any day of the week. since nerds aren’t troublemakers, unlike the jocks/hoodlums/roughnecks/meatheads/etc.
again don’t take offense cuz i aint offending ya but i’m glad that in real life you’re all harmless nerds that are only entertaining yourselves with delusions of badassness over the net, thats why i like ya, my fellow srk’ers cuz i know you won’t cause me to get into any trouble with law enforcement if we hang together in public. i thank god you’re nerds.
i’m glad everyone is nerdish here.,…since that means we can actually hang together and i won’t have to worry about la guardia gettin in my life.
sinceramente. yo no necesito la guardia otra vez en mi vida. entiendes?
thats all i ask of anyone i hang out with.
and thats ALL I CARE ABOUT when i’m chillin’ with the lot of ya in public.
STAYING FREE.
literally.
i don’t care about any tourney, having fun with peeps, or any of that bs, i just care about la guardia NOT having to roll up on fools and if they do, me NOT being there at the time.
as long as your actions while you are in my vicinity at some tournament don’t cause me to find myself locked up again…
then we cool bros.
pose all you want over the net, front all you want…just do me a favor and don’t pose in real life i.e. around me.
cuz i refuse to be anywhere near a venue if cops need 2 get called…if i think someone is gonna be a troublemaker,…i’m outi.
i’m ghost son. cuz if someone starts acting stupid to the point that 5-O has to roll up on niggas…i’m gonna be long gone before they roll up and even before any stupid shit goes down @ some stupid venue.
thats why i want tourneys to be a tad more diligent about enforcing certain rules of conduct…just to make sure people don’t start acting too stupid for their own good and the good of others at the venue.
~to all the lurkers out there in cyberspace:if you have ever lurked srk throughout srk’s history, ya gotta love all the talking shit on this site by all the nerds here who swear to you and themselves(only over the net, of course) that they can kick so much ass irl. i love how they try to convince you of that delusion/fiction/fantasy~
adorable aren’t they?
and thats called,
keeping it real.
keeping it in proper perspective
stay free srk
& stay fantasy srk’ers
nominate the shady tourney stuff thread for article people.
I joined Shoryuken in 2010 because I mainly kept to Capcom-Unity for most of my time before then.
You know, everybody is different. I have an SF buddy who is gay, and I jokingly call him regarding names all the time, because we have that level of understanding and friendship that we can give each other a hard time and we KNOW it’s a joke. But if some random person knocks on him for it at a tournament, yeah, then it’s not fair to him and I’ve got a problem.
IN OTHER NEWS (on FLAG) - The Logo will be up later today! I hope to be wearing a FLAG shirt at CEO this year (just to show some support to the community!), and maybe get one signed by a few pros to give out! No guarantees, but if I can get a few pros to sign it, then I could keep that to give out later on somewhere else to a good community member!
Anyway, finally, all I ask is that if you see somebody calling out bigoted termonology at a fellow player, just say, “Hey, man. That’s not cool.” Or, even if you don’t want to get into confrontation, just say to the player who received it, if they seem kind of bummed afterwards about it, “Hey. That scrub was free, wasn’t he?” It’s little things like these that make a big difference. That’s what FLAG is. Not some big organization. Just a commitment to little statements like these. And you’d be surprised how fast they add up.
laughs
Oh, how I enjoy seeing the delusions of other gamers~
As if this community is any better than the Smash Brothers community. You really -ARE- the same, when it matters.
It’s all just a huge bucket of crabs, guys. You try to climb higher, and the others just pull you back down.
(You know, if my one-liner telling someone to not be a raging dick gets deleted, why not the other instances of one-line vitriol in this thread? Just because it’s funny?)
That something that your buddy should be adressing not you…
QFT
So if someone calls out a scrub for being a scrub, will they get like a pretend ticket that says “You are being fined 5 Warbles for being unpolite, if you do not pay this fine in due time you will then be charged a fee of 10 Flaglets”? I can see someone playing a game, winning, and yelling “WHAT BITCH, WHAT!” and the deputies all get on their walkie talkies “CODE RED AT STATION 4 FOR MARVEL, CODE RED GUYS! I NEED BACKUP!”
no, think of it more as a super friendly club. Everyone in it agrees to be super friendly and it all kind of just spreads from there. Also anyone can be a member.
das mean guise you are mean guise
nothing wrong with friends calling friends scrubs.
just not strangers.
and i’d like to add on last thing.
i’m a nerd too, just not as nerdish as the rest of ya. i don’t wanna get you to think that i’m some type of roughneck.
cuz i’m not a roughneck, of course not. but i aint a pussy either.
i’m boricua, living in the projects,
in the most southern part of the south bronx where i’ve been livin for most my life, just trying to survive…you tell me if you think i’m a punk.
i didn’t think so.
just cuz i want more composure and less lunacy at a tourny doesn’t mean i’m not for competitive spirit.
i just wanna enjoy playing peeps once and a while…without trouble arising.
thats not asking for much, is it?
final post.
later fellas.
Its also important to note that the fighting game community its not like most of america where everyone’s a winnner…
this thread…
embarrassing.
OP is a giant flag
A lot of shit occurs that are within grey areas. If I had the influence as a player to move people around a bracket, should players embrace this activity? Maybe I’m some sort of Alpha male in the community, and can do this and get away with it. Maybe it’s just “playing to win”, bro. Should it be encouraged? Morals are not as much an issue here, it’s whether sportsmanship matters.
This thread really helps to prove the OP’s point in a way, lol.
Again, we don’t aim to ban trash talking or anything (or at least, myself and I think Banana Ken don’t). We’re tournament veterans, we know how shit goes. I’m just saying that there’s quite a bit of behavior that goes beyond normal healthy competition and into sexism, homophobia, or just plain creepiness. That’s going to be a huge barrier to professionalism, for the people who want that.
To pick just one example for now: Calling Burnyourbra a “black bitch” is problematic on multiple levels, due to the combination of race and sex involved. Using the word “black” in a phrase like that implies that you see blackness as a flaw in itself - think of a few years back in the NBA when Dan Issel got in huge trouble for calling a fan a “Mexican piece of shit”. And women who challenge men, or have power and aren’t afraid to exercise it, in any field have consistently been framed as a “bitch”…Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi are a couple of the more obvious current examples of women getting bashed for doing what men have been doing for centuries. The word carries its own historical baggage not unlike that of the n-word, if not on the same level.
