Filia Thread: My BFF And I Are Stuck Like Glue

The first part is a combo from dustloop that I somewhat modified by 1 hit or so. You can also start this combo off with upback IAD j.mk(1), j.rh just so you don’t go to the other side depending on where you are on the screen.

PART 1: iad j.lk, j.rh, c.lp, c.mp, s.fp, delayed j.mp(6), j.mk(2), iad j.mp(5 or 6), j.rh(restand), c.mk , s.fp, j.lp, j.lk, j.fp, air Gregor Samson

PART 2: After super you want to walk under and do c.lp so that you have them facing the corner. So……
c.lp , c.mp, s.rh, dash OTG c.lk, s.mp, s.mk, c.fp , spike, s.lk, s.mp, s.mk, c.fp, spike,( s.lp ,s.mp, s.mk, c.fp, spike)

I put this last part in parenthesis because there is more than one option. You can restand them by doing s.lp, s.lp , s.mp , c.mk, and either do c.fp, hairball xx super or s.rh, dp, xx super. You may also be able to get a tag out from the c.fp ground bounce. If you don’t use your OTG from part 2 you may be able to get a good juggle with Parasoul or somebody else.

So the combo into the mix-up I found for Cerebella works the exact same for Fillia with the added bonus that you can do iad j.lk-> j.hk, for a normal overhead with everything else still in tact too. So it’s actually better lol. Once I find a mix-up after a combo I’ll make a big post with all the stuff.

And for those who don’t know what I am talking about… the combo is:

Starter -> ground chain into s.hp -> sJC -> delayed j.lk->j.mp->j.mk(2)->adc j.mp-> restand j.hk -> land -> ground chain into s.hp -> delayed j.lp->j.lk->j.mp->whiff canceled j.mk or whiff canceled j.hp.

My friends playing Cerebella yesterday as making me so fucking salty. I need an assist lol. There needs to be an assist thread. I’mma go ahead and do that.

Any thoughts on what the most reliable restand string is? Having a ton of trouble with it so far, keeps seeming just off.

Look right above your post! The first air part of that combo works on everyone.

s.hp -> sJC -> delayed j.lk->j.mp->j.mk(2)->adc j.mp-> restand j.hk

derp thanks lol, had thread up and took my sweet ass time filling out quick reply

Yay so I have 4 mix-up against peacock now too! Its a bit harder at the end, but it’s exactly like fillia and Cerebella but with some exceptions.

Starter -> ground chain into s.hp -> sJC -> delayed j.lk->j.mp->j.mk(2)->adc j.mp-> restand j.hk -> land -> ground chain into s.hp -> j.lp->j.lk->j.mp->(hold forward) whiff canceled j.mk or H.HB XX gregor Samson

Whether or not you hold forward during the whiffed j.mk causes Fillia to change sides. Tight timing. Don’t delay the j.lp and wait for the j.mp to hit a few times.

Alright, I’m back. I’ve updated my original slapdash BnB to be optimized against all characters because fucking weight classes and hitboxes. I’m not gonna spam the notation in here because there’s too much of it but it’s on the video.

You are the hardest working hairdresser here. Thanks.

I just found out that you can cancel your air throw xx gregor samson in the corner and it will connect. You need to do it insanly fast though. Also I found out a few interesting resets here and there:
(corner only)IAD j.lk, j.hk xx MK air hairball (resets) j.hk
(corner) s.hp, j.mp xx lk/mk air hairball and then either: airthrow or j.lk, j.mk IAD j.lk into whatever or wait a bit before they land and then j.mk(1) IAD j.hp j.hk into stuff
(anywhere) cr.mp j.mp s.lpx1/x2, tick throw/assist/ high/low mixup

Hey guys, I have trouble using Filia’s launcher effectively. Any advice on getting my opponent in the air?

it has very limited range, learn what it is
limit the amount of hits that push you away before using it
2mk brings them a bit closer but i think it also scales
2mp is an alternative in some situations to 5hp as a launcher

Someone should already make a guide about her. The only things I see about Filia when checking around are normal fights and combo videos.

So I pretty much got raped by a Peacock/Double and during our fights I never managed to come up with a good strategy. Anyone got tips against them? I’m using Filia/Cerebella/Parasoul and only managed to be a bit successful with Filia (even if it was short lived).

I’ve probably played against Peacock/Double the most out of any match-up so far probably (and the guy I play against is pretty top notch at it too.)

In my experience, you just need to be really super fucking patient. IAD j.hp is your friend, but don’t spam it. just jumping forward and then seeing what he will do is really effective. If you iad too much, they will eventually teleport behind you and then you dash away from them in the process. also just walking forward or dashing on the ground.

The real key to this match-up is just patiently getting in. You will take chip damage, so you might as well just deal with it and not rush in blindly. Forcing them into the corner then baiting out the teleport is really actually quite easy Especially since it is reactable as long as you are on the ground with c.mk or something.

So like once again, just be super patient and you should be fine.

This is how go about it with Fillia. Hope it helps!

Does any of you have tips on how to run a solo Filia?

Just use j.hp

j.hp~IAD~j.hp. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over. You will win.

The funny thing is I’m being completely serious. That move is fucking broken lolololol.

J.hp is hardly broken, its loses out to quite a lot of stuff, namely j.hk from both valentine and Cerebella, anti-airs such as updo, Excellerbella, anti air grab, napalm pillar. Also IAD j.hp whiff’s on quite a few people close up and you’ll fly over them. that being said, its still really good.

Also be careful since a lot of your moves on the ground are negative on block and without a real true safe special to cancel into, it turns all your ground pressure into a guessing game where you can lose hard. Without an assist to cover your pressure, you have a really hard time staying in, unless you do, reset into reset in reset, etc etc, but that’s difficult to keep going. Also, without assists, against teams, your in-coming mix-up is limited at best.

All that being said, its still doable. Just super risky. You need to know your resets and you need to know how to get around a lot of character specific stuff. Fillia, as with all characters in this game, work better in a team. Just sayin.

This is it! It’s just super risky. With really no way to confirm off cr.LK, you have to have good luck on your side, or hope your opponent doesn’t know that cr.MK is punishable! Really, adding another member on your team isn’t the end of the world, and you might have more fun playing Filia with an assist! Plus, now you’ll have a character that you can dump all the meter you just build with all your amazing resets.

Resets,
Resets Everywhere.

Depends on who is best suited to assist her. Parasoul, maybe?
