Filia Thread: My BFF And I Are Stuck Like Glue

Do we have a safe blockstring put together yet? Seems like blocked mediums all still leave you open to get faced.

You mash out quarter circles. 236236236236236236 etc REALLY REALLY fast. if you do it fast enough you dash and instantly crouch over and over again. It looks like Fillia is spazing out lol. the best thing about it though is that it actually buffers that input so you can dash forward while buffering… or backwards, you can do it in either direction. I am not gonna lie, this is really hard to do… and its tiring. I can only do it consistently going left for a little but. you can also 632632632632, the reverse, but it doesn’t store inputs. It looks just as silly though.

I don’t think it is as fast normal wave dashing, but I plan on learning it to fake out people and stuff.

The safest blockstring is lp->lp->lk->mp. everything else she has is negative by a lot.

Can’t they crouch MP? Also, doesn’t this mean we can’t confirm off lows?! >=(

crouching mp is horrible on block same with crouching mk. You might be able to push them away with a long enough blockstring, but yeah. Even s.mk is negative on block with a -4. Whether or not that is punishable is a different question that needs to be answered on a character by character analysis.

I don’t think most things that start quickly enough reach far enough, I’ll see if I can try some out tonight. Do we have actual frame data available somewhere?

The way I think this game is going you better call an assist for a lot of your block strings. It doesn’t really seem like Marvel where you can create neutral or heavy frame advantaged strings that you can go into over and over and dash through advance guards during. I have strings with X-23 in Marvel 3 where pretty much without any assist I can stay in for a long period of time as long as I can figure when you’re going to advance guard. The strings don’t really seem as braindead without assist in this game so far.

Especially assists that lock down will help give you advantage to create longer strings.

That’s what I’m currently trying to get in my gameplan with my diamond drop assist.

DevilJin is right about that. Fillia’s pressure outside of jump-ins is naturally bad. SHE REALLY NEEDS A LOCKDOWN ASSIST or just something to let her continue pressure. I’ve played Fillia enough to know that she can get in by herself just fine, the problem is staying in.

It makes me sad, but I’ll have to learn someone else eventually. I’ve had too much fun with just her still.

I’m personally not using a lockdown assist. So far I’ve been doing great with the command grab and Parasoul’s bike assist.

Yeah anything that places a hit box on the opponent independent of your character is solid. Even if it’s one hit. With Valentine I should be using Painwheel’s c.MP more often when she’s alive but I get good mileage out of just going into Napalm Pillar after one of her normals or after throwing shuriken.

does anyone know of a good assist to help deal with zoning characters? i have way too much trouble with peacock and parasoul. parasoul especially, her jumping fierce beats everything i can do, and her bomb things lock me down completely. i was thinking of cerebellas charge move that has armor to help blow through projectiles and help me get in. what do you guys think?

right now im just running solo filia. im starting to realize she really needs a helpful assist

Well against zoning you can do stuff like super jump, lk/mk air hairball and then you’ll still have your airdash left. Usually you’ll be right above their head after the hairball if you did it right, meaning you can go for something like j.hk when falling to hit them. Stuff like that. I’m not good at explaining it.

jumping is hard enough when the parasoul has the bombs exploding all around you. if you do get off the ground and they are fast enough to react to it, they can either shut everything you can do in the air down with jumping fierce or do her anti air exploding sword thing. the only thing ive been able to do against a good parasoul so far is react fast enough to her fireball throwing with a gregor samson, but its risky

What about Parasoul’s absorb Egret or Bella’s reflector? Not sure how quickly they start up.

As far as being solo still don’t forget against Parasoul you can Ringlet or Hairball underneath her horizontal shots, I usually use Ringlet and short dashes to work her towards the corner. For Peacock I usually SJ forward while blocking in air, if they throw out the plane I just block, if they throw out horizontal shots I h.hairball on top of them. If they like to get spammy with item drop you can Ringlet for a knockdown then dash in while they recover.
