Also Servbot.
I got 45 for selling umvc3 and sf x tekken to gamestop.
And I’m fine with you not agreeing but talk to anyone outside of the FGC and ask them when they stopped going to arcades and you’ll get something along the lines of, “The games got too complicated” or “the crowds got too aggressive”. Sorry if you don’t like it but it’s not untrue.
Umm, wow no. That’s such a weird position to take, its hard to believe you’re not just messing with people.
Arcades died because the less serious people played more and more console as console games got better, and then the serious players gave up because you might as well be at home if you’re playing alone (insert masturbation pun here)
None really come to mind, but admittedly, SFIV is pretty slow. I won’t be picking up SFxT, because from what I’ve seen and heard it’s pretty unbalanced, buggy, and even slower than SFIV. At least SFIV is functional.
If people are going to complain about Ultimate and SFXT because of being charged for add-on content, then they should also complain about the various iterations of SF2, 3, 4, Alpha, etc. I don’t see why people only started to hate Capcom for their recent DLC practice when they’ve been doing this type of thing since SF2.
I’ve seen people completely turn away from SFXT solely because of the DLC pricing, when I feel like companies are doing things that are much worse. Take Blazblue for example; Blazblue CS was $40, with three additional characters that were $8 each, making the whole game ~$64 total. The new CS Extend is also $40, and only includes one new character (sure, the three that were DLC in the previous game are included, but if you cared about the game you would’ve payed for them prior to this game’s release) and a balance patch that should’ve been free since CS overwent a major balance patch in the form of an update. The $40 price tag is too much for a slightly tweaked version of CS with only one new character.
And since it’s a disc release, you’ll need to buy a copy of Extend if you want to play online since CS is outdated. This is what I don’t like the most. SFXT’s non-disc based update alleviates that, so whether or not you buy the DLC, you’ll still be able to play online.
While I’m not too happy with the SFXT DLC not only being on the disc, but completed, in the long run Capcom’s choice to release the characters later this year is smart. If we had all the characters right now, the game’s lifespan will greatly reduce, and we’ll have nothing else to look forward to from this game. For people that are complaining about the price, $20 for 12 new characters is also very reasonable compared to some past prices. SSF4AE’s update was $15 for 4 characters, and like I mentioned earlier, the combined price for CS’s three DLC characters added up to $24, and Extend which is $40 for technically one character.
Well there was no forums to say “HEY APLHA 2 AND 3 ARE THE SAME SHIT SCREW CA$HCROOKS AND THEIR RETARDED UPDATES!” the only way you would see anything like that is if the game magazines wrote a article about it back in the day. But I do find it funny that Capcom is the only company to get flack for updates of any kind, free or paid. While other companies get “SO HYPED” and “THROWING MY MONEY AT THE SCREEN” comments. 30 different iterations of GG, 40 different blazblues, a thousand KOFs but all still get love like it the first brand new title in the series.
People have selective memories.
do you even know the amount of people who hated that csii was an update patch for cs instead of a new disc? or that they hated that the csii characters were dlc instead of disc released?
you probably dont go around of sites dedicated to bb, if you believe that there is not shitstorm when people talk about if bbcsex should be a free update or a disc release
also i would love to see you runing a bussines if you are so dumb to believe that csex should be a free update, seriously, one of the reasons of why bbcsex is on disc, its because the market still prefers a new disc over an online patch, and not only on japan, this is true to this side of the ocean too
many people passed on the dlc chars because they preferd to wait for the disc release
seriously
anyone talking abou this sjould be free, or this should be an update its a fucking idiot who doesnt know what they are talking about
for sfxt, bb, or whatever
MvC3: because it feels like shit to get comboed for 30 seconds only to get reset into another 30 second long combo.
SFxTK: because 10 second long Bnbs get boring after a while.
I’m sure there are worse fighting games that I haven’t played yet but I can’t really rate those since I didn’t give them a chance, so I’ll rate the FG’s I already played. MvC2 was a mess. Very unbalanced game.
MvC3 is only a mess because of X-factor. Should of used TvC’s baroque instead. Still I continue to play UmvC3 but mostly for fun since the game is way too random and its all about them combo’s not so much the mind games.
SFxT is probably the worst of them all that I have played. Gems don’t really feel necessary to me. Broken Hugo. And I just don’t like team battles where if you lose 1 character you lose the whole match. Also the constant timeouts are annoying.
lol i have never heard anyone say that.
online play killed the arcades mostly
Hugo isn’t broken; he’s just good. Why is it that people don’t want grapplers to be good?
thanks for correcting me, but that was just a typo. I’m not even aware of the names of american publishers (don’t live in america).
it’s fun to beat that cheap faggot who spams throws
im still hearing how mvc3 is random, what does that mean?
me neither
SFIV, it’s way too slow and has an array of other design choices that I don’t like, the character models don’t appeal to me either, ST all day over it.
You’re entitled to your opinion if you really think disc-based updates are more ethical than a DLC update. But I’d rather not be forced to waste my money on buying several disc updates to keep up with one game, regardless of what the market wants. Capcom is trying to do a DLC update to avoid an expansion disc for SFXT, and in the end people are going to appreciate that more because they won’t have to buy a completely new disc for it, and their battle records and color swaps/costumes will be kept intact. When I bought Blazblue CS, the color DLC and battle records from CT didn’t carry over, so I wasted my money with that.
I’ve frequented Dustloop and other Blazblue communities more than you probably have, and I’ve never seen people complain about characters in CS being DLC nor did I ever see people complain about CS2 being a balance patch rather than an entirely new game. The only major problem I’ve seen regarding Blazblue was the fact that Xbox 360 players got jipped out of the release date of their DLC, but even then, nobody was saying “fuck DLC this should be a disc release”.
And of course the community won’t complain about Extend because it’s the only new content they’ll be getting since the CS2 update in May. But I talk to quite a few Blazblue players and they’re frankly sick of Extend because of how similar it is to the last game and how much new content it lacks.
And yes, I believe Extend shouldn’t have been an entirely new disc update, because it’s a balance update that was able to be implemented for free in the last game and one new character. The story mode isn’t even new. Arcsys should’ve just waited and developed a whole third new game entirely because those bolded elements shouldn’t warrant a disc release.
have you ever played sport games, if they dont have problems with that, dunno why some people here do, but hey, as you said some people like it, some dont
and for the record, i preffer dlc updates (so no, dont jump on making dumb assumptions), i would loved to have csex as an update instead of a disc, but unlike you, i know that from a bussines pov would have been a suicide,
and even when i theorically preffer dlc updates, unlike capcom i would preffer real dlc, because that way, they avoid the shitstorm that they are currently facing, i really dont care that they are on disc and finished, but i can understand why some feel that they are being robbed
and on the subject about dlc chars and bb, there are people who would preffer individual characters like they did, some think that they should sell them on packs packs of characters, hell i know a lot of people want to have a real disc to be able to carry it to their friends house or other meetings without the problems of downloading it again, and the issues of having to puting their accounts on other consoles, many TO’s preffer disc releases because it makes it easy than buying on multiple accounts the dlc chars
so no, im pretty sure that many would hate that sfxt is a “dlc update”, and they would be more than the people who would love it, you can count on that
lmao, the fact that at some point, people wanted me for a mod on dl, the fact that i was one of the 1st of dedicating a youtube channel for BB (not so active now, because work and rl, but hey), and that i have been member of dl for so long even before bb was even created, can tell you how active i have been for years, so no, i doubt that you have, specially because of this:
the amount of people who were unhappy were the majority
lol, lol, lol i love generalizations, i like how you say the community, a goup of your casual friends dont make the whole community
i know a lot of people that are more than happy with bbcsex, because its the most balanced so far, and all the characters are viable, but, i know that you are talking about casuals, who feel that the game lacks “content”, like lol story, and other single player modes, wich are meaningless in the long run
and again, i would love to see you trying to run a bussines, seriously, you wouldnt last enough to even make the game, seeing your train of thought
What you can take away from a3na is that many people really do hold that perspective where they don’t really look too far into the actual work done and only look at things like characters and modes added and then bitch about it costing too much because on the surface not much work was done.
I’d prefer physical copies (because I have no idea how I’ll be able to go back to play these old fighters, actually any game from this console gen, with patches if the server dies in 5/10 years or being able to select which version of the game to play) but I see the benefit of DLC and DL updates for consumers and developers.
