Okay listen man, funny thing about Marvel 3 is that how much health you have barely even matters, everyone dies in 1-2 combos regardless
If the only thing you can say bad about a character is that his health is bad that is not a bad character

I hate all the MKs, except the ones from like, SNES. Those were raw. But other than that, I love all FGs. I dont know about you but if I actually seriously take the time, practice, and focus on getting good at any FG, there’s no way i cant like it. I was aaallways a Tekk player. when my bro intro’d me to SF4, I hated it. I was like “man get the fuck outa here with this oldskool bullshit? Who the fuck plays lame ass SF??” But I found a character I liked and gave it a shot. As soon as I played my 1st online fight, I fucked this guy up, and I was hooked. Dude was pissed as fuck. Trolled me immediately. Still love it.
Ah, my apologies - I thought you were talking about monetary costs, not in-game costs.
I’m not against stock Assist Gems on moral grounds, but I do believe they are a stupid, stupid, stupid idea. They just do too much, even for their activation conditions and meter cost.
I think we all know what SFxT’s gem system is going to end up becoming in a few years: 5 or so gem set-ups used by 99% of the players (Ultimate Defense Lv3 definitely being one of the main gems used, with Chip Damage Boost Lv3 likely becoming popular specifically because Ultimate Defense and turtling in general will be popular), ending up making a game that is more restricting than giving players more freedom.
Of course, this’ll likely end up being banned at tournaments… which means we’ll have an online experience that in no way prepares you for a tournament. Granted, some might say the online games of today do you no better, but at least you are just playing the same game underwater.
SNES MK1 was notable in that you could NEVER throw the computer, no matter what.
Even in the fatality animation, you try to walk up and just throw him, and I am not kidding, he throws you instead… and then falls over dead.
hmmmmm u have a point, sir.
Were there any new sprites in Marvel that weren’t reused from an older game other than the new characters?
I’ll bite, Blazblue.
I wanted to like Blazblue so much. The game is gorgeous, there are a couple characters I like, I love the stages and move-sets. What’s the problem? The fucking gameplay. I hate how in every match against an experienced player, you’re basically being featured in a combo video.
Yeah, it’s online. Yeah, I’m obviously new to the game and I need to invest months of time in my character and learn the game, which brings me to my next point: I would have no problem investing said months of time in learning the game if there weren’t updates that change the characters so much to the point where you need to re-learn them again.
In no other fighting game I’ve played (Arcana, Third Strike, Guilty Gear, King of Fighters) have I had the issue of being locked into combo after combo after combo without even being able to move. It’s annoying as fuck.
"That’s why people love the game"
Cool, that’s why I don’t like it and no longer have the game.
That seems a little premature. Don’t you remember the CvS2/MvC2/3s years? And not to hate on CvS2 cause I love that game, but MvC2 and 3s lasted longer than CvS2 despite being older. Not saying SF4 won’t die soon, just that its a bit early to tell.
i dont get this question
amingo
ruby heart
cable
marow
were the new sprites for mvc2. Venom came in MvC1.
I mean did any other characters who already had fighting game sprites get updates to their look in Marvel 2.
not that i know of…just the new characters looked good while the old ones looked pretty bad…like sfalpha ryu being half the height of magneto XD
Nah, SF4 and SFxT are ass. No amount of diatribe on an internet forum is going to change that.
I DO LIKE UMVC3 THOUGH, IDGAF what the haters say about that game.
yo this gonna sound kind of petty but
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
-for killing much of the momentum Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars had when it was announced like, a few months after TvC UAS was released.
Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
-for being announced not even five months after MvC3 was released. Damn, Capcom. Even with the earthquake in Japan last year it would have been better to wait at least 9 months or so…but that would mean pushing back Street Fighter X Tekken, eh?
Street Fighter X Tekken
-for being such a fucking cock-tease and then turning out to be so…meh (and I’m being too fucking nice here). And these DLC on-disc shenanigans/no pair play on Xbox 360 problems are not helping in the least bit.
oh…and MEGA MAN
Skullgirls
-for no real reason at all. Just hating.
Tag-battle games (CVS, KOF, MVC)
It’s not that I hate these games on principle, but from a design perspective forcing a player to learn 2-3 characters to compete never sat right with me. I think it’s because I’m “older” and remember how much money it cost just to learn one character. I remember seeing XMVSF for the first time at 10-years-old and thinking, “this game is amazing looking, but I will never be good at it because my parents won’t give me enough money.” I remember waiting for the line to go away so I could just try the damn thing and always, ALWAYS, some 25-year-old would see 10-year-old me and decide to come in and show-off by by comboing me to death in 30 seconds. Fast forward five years and arcades were basically dead. As such, I directly associate this “that looks too intense so I won’t play it” mentality as a direct problem that scared away the non “FGC” players and thus, killed arcades.
Ever since then I have a chip on my shoulder about tag battles, even if I do enjoy them now more at home then I ever could at the arcade.
I don’t know if they are new sprites for mvc2 I think they’re unused sprites from other games
I’m okay with you not liking them, but trying to justify it by saying they killed arcades is retarded yo.
You forgot Son Son.
