I regret ever making this thread.
MvC3
cause it sucks
The Street Fighter IVs and Marvel 3. Cuz they are way more popular, successful, and their community overshadows the fighters I really like. Plus, it’s hip to hate on these 2 games, anyway.
I’m gonna be flame for this but Besides KoF13 and MIRA series, most other Kof games leave me baffle. Epcially Kof2002. The neutral game is very hard understand. Character desighn makes little sense as far as gameplay is cocern, and the technical aspect is just unsettling. (understand that I don’t like KoF games but still good fighter for its own rights)
SFxT
arcana hearts 3
aquapazzas
SFxT because of both marketing decisions and the game itself.
SFIV because I just didn’t like the tempo.
Also MK9, yes it’s very solid and I don’t mind playing it, but it just doesn’t do anything special for me, perhaps if I was a big fan of the Mortal Kombat series and characters who had been waiting however long for a Mortal Kombat game which didn’t suck I would have been more interested but as I’m not it’s just like “Yeah this is playable I guess, beat’s SFIV” and that was it.
Battle Fantasia for seemingly being great, but also seemingly being none-existant.
TvC for being the best thing Capcom has put out this gen, but stuck with ass netcode on the wii so no-one plays it.
Wartech Senko No Ronde 2 for not having been released over here and being stuck on a console with region locking, so no importing either unless you risk buying a japanese console.
Ok the last 3 were more game’s I’m pissed off at than games I have a genuine dislike for.
Nothing good can come of this thread.
Marvel because i don’t like watching the same herp derp wombo combo xfactor 3 comeback wesker over and over again
More a set of priniples than specific games (but they all match the same template); Universal airdash, extended combo games with way more engine elements than any sane game would need. There’s a whole ocean of them, and I hate them all.
another hate/dislike FG thread…BRILLIANT. ok ok let me try this just once " OK I HATE SF4,UMVC3,SFxTK BECAUSE I SUPPOSEDLY PLAY ALL THE OLD FIGHTERS FOR 10 YEARS AND PRETEND TO KNOW ALL THE COMBOS IN STUFF, AND THESE NEW GAMES ARE SO SCRUBBY AND I HAVE BEEN ON SRK FOR 8 YEARS SO NO SCRUB CAN TELL ME NOTHING" I hope I did it right.

I was not aware that SFIV, UMVC3 and SFxTK were the only fighting games out this gen, glad I don’t live in whatever forsaken parallel universe you are somehow posting across from.
Also over here Street Fighter was crossed with Tekken not whatever 2 word company TK stands for, game still sucks though.
MVC3/UMVC3 =
X-Factor, an strange absence of Megaman (more like Megaman X to be precise), a handful of character choices are strange (Why exactly was Akuma in this game, when Bison would have been a much more plausible choice for Capcom villians? Then there is Venom, Gene, and others…), and the TvC button layout/notations. The game also contributes to my bitterness toward Capcom and casual players (as in, players that had/wanted nothing to do with fighting games to begin with and probably play fighting game in general like… once or twice a year)
MK 4 through DC Universe =
I did not mind MK9 at all. And, I thought MK1/MK2 was the series best games, while MK3 was… decent but horribly unbalanced and not tournament worthy. The rest of the MK games were just rushed and hurried. Armaggeddon was just redundant and trashy as well, as Midway (at the time) basically copied in pasted everything from the two previous games. The fighting system did not do much to help.
SFIV series =
This is a strange case. I like it. But, I hate more so. Like the MVC3 series, this also contributes to my bitterness towards Capcom. The characters now seem to be stuck in absolute status quo. This is part of reason why I favor Alpha/SFIII series because there was quite a bit of interesting changes in the series. It also because, Capcom were still decent at the time too. I don’t really like SF IV as much… because I usually tend to favor fast paced game play. Ultra’s are probably one of the ideas that never stuck well with me. I don’t believe in rewards from getting beat up. The series in itself is also extremely overrated. I am not exactly a fan of the art work as well (hell, I DRAW BETTER THAN THAT)! The character choices overtime got weirder and weirder as well. I love the fact that several well known character made the cut… but then there just some choices that were outright ridiculous (E. Ryu and Super Saiyan 5 Akuma… I thought we were over the Evil Ryu nonsense from Alpha? And, we did not need another version of Akuma). Adding insult to injury, this is probably one of the most redundant examples of shoto clone usage, in spite of me not normally minding these things but this is… crazy. (Gouken IRONICALLY doesn’t fit into that category).
Licensed Fighting games =
I used to play these when I was like… 13 years old? But, then I got older, and now that I have extended my knowledge, exposing myself to tournament play, my friends (and partially my parents) motivating into playing actual fighting games… I now hate these games with a passion.
Arcana Heart =
It does not really matter how much I complain: SFIV, MVC3, and even Arcana Heart are still standard fighting games… but for many obvious reasons, I can’t really see myself playing this game. I’m sure a lot of people would understand. It is nothing personal nor am I trying to be mean, but…
Super Smash Bros. Brawl =
I LOVE Super Smash Bros. to death. Especially the first two games (Especially Melee. That game was the definition of “legit”). Brawl was made to be more casual friendly… a little TOO casual friendly. I like the idea of Subspace Emissary, among other things… what irritates me is that part of winning a match is luck based. Why would I be tripping when I am extremely close to finishing my opponent off with a Smash? Also, it seems to favor a lot of air play. The hit stun concept from Melee was also removed. I recall consistently losing motivation to play the game in favor the other Smash’s… This basically became yet another party game.
Capcom Fighting Generation =
This is the game that pretty much caused Ono to get a lot of… hatred. First of all… it felt like a another Mugen game. I DESPISE Mugen with a passion, as much as (perhaps more so than) licensed fighting games. Sprites were basically taken from other games causing it to look ugly and revolting. I never actually played the game. Hm. As a matter of fact, everything about the game was just WRONG.
KOF Maximum Impact (the first game) =
This is probably the only part of the series I hate. Now, KOFMI2 had everything fixed, but the first game on the other was terrible in my opinion. Some of the characters (especially the newer ones) were not as appealing too (oh, but how I love Lien Neville and her… “game play” style, in spite of her being low tier. In case anyone reading this didn’t realize… I tend to use a lot of female characters in spite of me being a male myself… my signature should tell you a few stories).
I digress. I really love and appreciate the KOF series in general, despite me initially growing up with SF. But, this is the one game I can not stand. I’d rather play KOF XII over… THIS. Seriously. The game is broken all to hell… even the OST causes my ears to bleed (English voice acting not withstanding). And, many of the newer characters in this particular series come across as stale or unappealing.
I guess that about wraps it up. I might come up with a few more games I might not like in the near future.
This whole thread is gonna get flamed sooooooooooooooooooo hard.
Just ignore the common answers, and look for the guy that makes a 15 page rant about how KOF Maximum Impact ruined his childhood.
Mortal Kombat vs DC.
I bought it last night for PS3 for $9.
You control your jump with the dpad and 3d Movement with Analog stick. Why couldn’t this be like tekken where everything is mapped to one stick? That is so stupid man.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl: It was alright for like a couple of weeks, but it started to become repetitive. It was all the same random shit the whole time, the game pretty much played itself. Didn’t help that it felt slower and more restrictive than Melee. I can’t figure out why people STILL play Brawl without mods.
MKvDC: Just plain awful. Doing anything just felt like trying to lift a brick wall.
SSF4: It was pretty fun to play for while, but while I played SSF4 I started delving into more games, particularly VSav and ST. When I first set my hands on ST, I just started wondering why I bothered to play SSF4. Why should anyone bother playing a game when it didn’t bother to truly set itself apart from its predecessors that I got way more of a thrill from and had much better online options through GGPO? Being butt ugly didn’t help either.
In after SF4, UMVC3, and SFXT.
I’m going to say MVC2. A game where you HAD to play a top-tier character+top assist to have a chance.
Rival Schools Project Justice : Not nearly as good as the original, felt slower and didn’t like the 3v3 format. Also lost its hype
Street Fighter HD remix : The game is just ugly in every way possible
Onimusha Blade Warriors: So much potential to only come across like a poor mans Super smash bros.
Tekken 3 (PAL): Felt criminal playing that shit in 50hz
MVC2, because there were only a certain number of characters you had to use. Also, it was too hard to get into, in my case.
