that’s why everyone loves every game equally or in proportion to popularity/knowledge, right

Your fanboy is showing bro
LOL@ Some guy saying “Pay to win” when Gems aren’t even that big of a deal.
youre telling me that MvC3 Hulk’s animation is better than the previous 2d one?
Or Iron Man?
Or Magneto?
I just cant agree to that
UMvC 3 - Its just one big gimmick. See who can gimmick who the most and win. Not to mention that in America, everyone makes their team out of the god/A+++ tier as if none of the other characters exist. Laughed real hard when Kusoru bodied everyone w/ bottom tier characters. Yeah, that put a smile on my face. I was hyped w/ MvC 3 came out and played it alot (Taskmaster/Deadpool/Chun-Li) but then UMvC 3 happened and well…yeah. Marvel vs Wesker 3 had a chance to be good but Capcom blew it w/ Ultimate Marvel vs Wesker 3. Friend got me a used copy for Christmas but it just collects dust. At least its fun to watch.
SFIV series: Too slow paced. I love Street Fighter Alpha and the Street Fighter III games. Street Fighter IV is just garbage to me. Its not fun to watch, and it runs into the same problem as Ultimate Marvel vs Wesker 3. Everyone plays the same eight or so characters (Rufus, Sagat, Cammy, Akuma, Seth, Viper, Fei Long, Balrog and the occasional Ryu.) so you see the exact combos over and over and over and over and over and over. When I did play it, I mained Cody and Dudley. And those are the only characters in that game that I like. After playing KoF XIII for a few days, I wish I had got that when it came out and completely dumped SFIV.
kof13 because i suck at it
Virtua Fighter cos it’s fucking boring.
While I don’t hate UMvC3, it is a load of dumb shit and I wish MvC2 was still at tournaments. It’s more fun to watch, IMO.
>Frank West and VJoe
>Bottom tier
Not sure if serious.
The purple ones are.
Frank West is multi-tier. If given a tier overall, I’d say upper-mid. He is REALLY good once he reaches level 4. Frank West is no joke even at level 2/3 though.
VJoe is decent.
Rocket Raccoon is pretty bad though, I think. Damage is okay, zoning is pretty good, mobility isn’t bad, health sucks though. (750K) **
If you are referring to me - I didn’t say it’s there yet. I didn’t even say it definitely will be. I said that there is a distinct possibility that it will be, and I want to wash my hands of ever contributing to something so against what fighting games are founded on: all of us having the same tools, and it all just being a matter of how we use those tools.
Mental abilities may separate us. Dexterity may separate us. Performance anxiety may separate us. Experience may separate us. The amount of cash we throw at a faceless company should never be a factor.
Yes but they come with a price so I’m “ok” with them.
The only fighting game I really dislike is Street Fighter x Tekken… And it’s because of the ugly-as-hell graphics. I’m such a shallow graphics whore.
Magneto was fucking ugly, man. I’m sorry, but it’s true; he was way too beefy and the desaturated purple looked crappy. And Hulk and Iron Man are also marked improvements; Hulk isn’t in his weird “Smart Hulk form”, while MvC3 Iron Man’s energy blasts look gorgeous and his launcher is awesome looking.
Doom, Storm, Strider, Captain America, Sentinel, Shuma, and Jill deserve your hate, since those ones actually look worse than their Marvel 2 versions (Although I still like Sentinel’s model).
Mags resembled the comics; MvC3 mags is way too soft, not nearly muscular enough
Hulk and IM BREATHED. Hulk also had multiple facial expressions. He just always looks dumb in 3.
I actually dont mind Doom, aside from his stick legs. Cap made the transition well (im pretty impressed by his shield in the viewer). Storm too. Sent looks pretty but his animations are so slow and clunky
SF4 - Slow. Also it feels like Capcom wanted to prove this song wrong

Wait, are you saying that you are okay with powerful gems being paid?
I hope I’m either misinterpreting or you mistyped, because that’s the textbook definition of pay-to-win.
The small price is worth it considering they BREAK THE GAME.
Lets be honest here, most of the people on this forum puff up or diss a game because that’s what their particular part of the culture tells them to.
SF4 and SFxT are uncool so people hate on them more. VS is trendy so everyone talks about it being one of their favorites. ‘Classic’ games like ST and MvC2 you’re not allowed to hate on at all (see piskooo’s post on page one, and he was very clearly joking. People still freaked out).
People legitimately like or dislike games, but all too many of them are just ‘killing in the name’ (visual aid to music reference below)

Edit: And yes Zach de la Rocha is a massive douche, I am aware of this fact.
I was talking about the stock Assist Gems -_-
the MK series, totally and utterly. Hell, any digitized fighting game, Pit Fighter, Clay Fighter, Street Fighter:The Movie, etc. I’m glad that style of fighter died out. The best one is definitely that bizarre Jackie Chan fighter from way back.
and then probably Virtua Fighter 1 for the Saturn, what a waste of a disc. I mean, it’s a game, and you can play it. But when there are a dozen other vastly superior fighting gems on the system, why bother?
I dislike any game other super street fighter II turbo because any other fighting game sucks, and my opinions are facts.
I choose to ignore the fact that game developers have to use trial and error to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
I choose to complain about a lack of fighters, and the lack of popularity of fighters, but if a new fighter with a new game engine emerges; I will complain.
Mortal Kombat sucks cause it isn’t Capcom/Street Fighter/ Hadoken-ville
Skull Girls is gonna suck…forever!
No other fighting game ever started out with a shitty first title…[cough] Street Fighter (1987) [cough]
KOF XIII sucks…just cause…
Rival Schools: United By Fate obviously sucks because there’s no jab, strong, fierce, short, forward, roundhouse, and even God knows that one cannot fight unless one uses punches/kicks with three levels of strength
Tekken might have great music, lots of characters, and different fighting styles, but it is in 3-D and everyone knows that we live in a flat earth 2-D world!
Virtue Fighter is just Diet -Tekken, so duh, no shit Sherlock, # circle jerk…
