SF4, SFxT. Because they’re bad.
SFxT and SSF4: AE because it’s the popular thing to do right now and I can’t formulate my own opinion.
But not in 4-5 years, because the games will magically become good by then.
just like CFJ right
Had the same experience as OP with MK9. I was stoked about it pre-release, was ready to play it to death, then I played it about a dozen times and had my mind changed. The characters felt clunky and disjointed, even once I was familiar with the characters it just felt like there was no flow. It reminded me of watching a poorly dubbed movie–something about the animations of the characters just didn’t feel like it ever comfortably matched up with my inputs. I’ve loved every other fighter in the current generation including Blazblue, SCV, and KOF XIII so I was surprised by my own disappointment.
I dislike people who think Aksys Games, a north American publisher, is the same as Arc System Works, a Japanese developer/publisher.
Thanks for clarifying.
I don’t like SF4/SFxT. There isn’t nearly enough crazy bull shit in those games for me. It’s just regular bull shit.
No it doesn’t. If that happens, everyone will come to GD and that place will be forever ruined.
The only things that actually matter are popularity and promotion.
ST and 3S and MvC2, while excellent games, are mainly considered the mainstays of the genre because those are the ones that happened to be at the end of their series, and so kept getting played.
In comparison, 2 years ago most people had never even heard of Vampire Savior, but because of people heavily promoted it, talked about how great it is, and posted videos, now its on everyone’s lists of favorites.
I should add, that all of those are great games, am in no way saying they don’t deserve the love… but rather that the love is totally arbitrary, as is the hate.
can’t lock threads before they’re created
I always laugh at people who bash visuals of newer fighting games but love games with crap visuals like MVC2.
The sprites in MvC2 had a million times more character than the models in MvC3
SG is pretty much the actual sequel to MvC2 IMO.
Not only does it refine MvC2 concepts, but it brings so much innovation to the genre in general.
Honestly, NGBC was pretty fun but it’s pretty dull in comparison to other SNK titles.
The characters and mechanics just feel really weak and low-tier to me.
Oh I thought of another one.
I hate hate hate HATE Samurai Shodown 5 and 6.
They took something I love and then took a massive shit all over it.
Fuck those guys.
Edit: And there should be an informal ban on bringing up skullgirls in non-skullgirls related discussions. Seriously guys we know it’s the Messiah already, you’ve only told us about 1.5 million times!
Nope. The community, much like the individual gamers themselves, can only put the big focus on a few titles at once. Sure, there are notable entry’s from other companies, but when it comes to Capcom? SFxT & UMVC3 consume the top spots.
Stick a fork in SFIV.
The internet sees SFxT as the new toy right now, but do you really think more people, across the planet, are playing more Marvel and SFxT? SFIV is still the most played fighter, it’s just not talked about as much.
There’s more to visuals than sprites. The stages of MvC2 are pure ass. The stages made the sprites look out of place IMO. Stages having nothing to do with neither of the franchises present was a disappointment.
