That Street Fighter vs Capcom is actually Capcom Fighting Jam you are thinking about correct?
in terms of fighting games i dislike, i pretty much hate all current fighting games cept SF4:AE 2012 which i play with friends, SCV, and VF5FS. the problem has more to do with “feel” than it does with balance or anything else so its very hard for me to explain why i dont like them other than just saying “i dont like it.”.
but if i had to explain anyway i’d probably just chalk it up to difference in fighting systems and animations and the way it all plays together.
Let me think for a second.
Tekken 2. Game just looks ugly imo, compared to the original. I dunno, just never liked it.
Marvel 2. Mostly because my execution isn’t good enough to learn Magneto, but also because the game in general is at a higher speed then I like.
Marvel 3. I enjoyed playing it, but honestly, so much love/hate in this game, especially since I never found a third character until UMvC3. I don’t hate UMvC3 as much though.
Blazblue. Rented this, hearing tons of good stuff. Ended up hating it. Overrated as hell. Felt like a crappy guilty gear, not to mention that at the moment, TvC somehow felt like a better game, and I wouldn’t of touched that **** for more than a few days if it wasn’t for my homie Alex.
KOF 99-01. Get rid of that striker stuff. Didn’t feel like a KOF game.
MKvDC. Holy shat, this piece of trash. Outside of the fact I can use Superman, I really don’t like this game.
Rise of the Robots. Worst fighter ever made. Period. No argument can be made.
KOF XII. Never played it. Don’t need to play it to know it has no characters.
I can’t put Skullgirls on this list, having never played it, but the pacing, roster size, and character design are making me worry. The game better be all it’s played up to be, or I’ll add it to this list. Guess I’ll play the demo, and find out. But all truth, I don’t have money/time for both Skullgirls and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, and I come from a 3D fighting background. If Skullgirls is PERFECT, I’ll have to find more money somewhere and get it, but if it’s too fast paced, or too random, I’ll stay with VF and ignore Skullgirls.
Arcana Heart 3
Because it had to go and die on me
lolwhat
if he changed it to ‘too much time’ from ‘too many hits’ it would be a pretty good complaint.
Capcom Fighting Evolution. A great idea sullied by Capcom’s legendary lazy. I expected at least a subpar purely-Capcom CvS2… and got a subpar MUGEN collection. No ‘survival’ team battles or tag team battles, which made the whole need to select two characters seem redundant. No ‘groove’ selections, which could have really given the game some sort of selling point - playing a Third Strike character in V.Sav mode or vice versa could have been incredible. Pathetic character roster - 23 compared to CvS2’s 48 and MvC2’s 56 - which might not have been so bad had there been more than 1 really new character (maybe 3 if you count getting to play as 2 of the bosses from Red Earth.) Why limit to 4 characters per series? They could have doubled the amount and it still would not have surpassed CvS2’s roster.
Vanilla Mortal Kombat 3. Mostly due to a lack of certain characters, but it just didn’t have the impact or atmosphere that MK2 had. UMK3 was definitely a better game with content, but I still hated the urban environments, most of the new cast, and especially the lack of Johnny Cage and Raiden. I mean, c’mon, Cage and Raiden were on the side art of MK1 and MK2 cabinets!
KOF’01. Aside from May Lee and Angel, I hated just about everything about this game. Just didn’t have the same feel as previous KOFs. It’s hard to explain, but just go from playing KOF2k to KOF’01 and you’ll likely notice it as well.
Justice League Task Force. I’m a huge DC fan, so I was extremely excited about this game back in the day. Man, what a disappointment.
Rise of the Robots. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst fighter ever (Hey there, Pit Fighter for SNES!), but it tries to be. One of the first games I bought with my own money back in the day - save money for a while just to buy this turd on day one.
Can’t this god awful thread just die already?
Well I see that you really like Darkstalkers.
DS is a very fast game whereas most of the more modern games are much slower (with the obvious exception of MvC3 but there are plenty of other reasons someone might dislike the game).
I dare someone to say they don’t like Darkstalkers. DARE. I’m really psyched for SkullGirls because it kinda looks like Darkstalkers with all it’s tri-jumps and air-dashes.
Plus, I’m so cool, I liked Darkstalkers when we only knew it as Night Warriors.
Nightwarriors of course being darkstalkers 2

I like all Fighters

I didn’t like Tekken, mainly because I was forced to play on pad in Tekken 5, and hated how much it hurts trying to move Kaz around with the pad. Plus watching the game in action is really boring too. The differences in each character when you actually play is huge, but the differences becomes subtle when you watch it. It takes a real trained and patient eye to really enjoy a Tekken match. Even though I personally don’t prefer Tekken, I still have respect for the game.
about to chime in with my opinion of which games i dislike and the reasons why

Don’t like Street Fighter. It’s boring as hell to me.
I don’t hate SF4 anymore because it gave me Skullgirls to play.
how?
If you’re asking Mr. X, he’s referencing that interview MikeZ gave the other day (and kind of common sense).
Mike directly said that you should thank SF4 for Skullgirls, they, and most of the other games since, never would have been published if it weren’t for how well SF4 sold.
