Part of me wants to believe the story that SBX never got properly tested because the only people who went to the location tests were yaoi fangirls who wanted to do shipping battles.
Videos from an old front page article we posted years ago.
DDND is one of those little gems that make you crack in laughter with all of its dumb shit.
As for SBX, it is a bummer that the game never got the chance due neither capcom or asw caring enough about it.
The game can be fun like HnK, but i canât blame anyone for not liking it. After all this game its fill with really dumb shit like wallstreet infinite and the ride me to the moon infinite.
I read somewhere that the director/creator? of the sb series would like to see another try for SBX, this time done properly.
What can i say, there are some poverty games that are really fun to play
Plus the freedom of stuff that you could do on GG was something that i loved. Plus the amazing soundtrack.
The engun system (assists) was really cool imo. It worked as a combo breaker, extended a specific super everyone had, and had several different versions (or if you were Motonari, had like 5/6 vs the usual 2). The combo breaker could be countered with your own engun as well, and if you hit with it, you were able to cancel out of pretty much any move. You also had to let the engun level up to get the best attacks/most use out of the assist that you could, and calling it preemptively had a wait period before they arrived, so you had to decide when you wanted it, IIRC.
Also, Hideyoshi just SPDâs you like 6+ times in the right combo. Donât fuck with these sideburns.
Well, vids at 30fps doesnât make the game justice, but yeah the sprites were very snkâish on that game. though from what i know, they implemented a new way to draw the sprites on the screen, but i donât remember the name of the procedure right now.
Every fighting game should have the âPerfectâ message pop-up the second that round ends, not after the characterâs winpose. I donât want my opponent to be able to skip it!
So since when did using the same combo/move over and over again mean youâre a scrub?
Whenever I get a new fighting game and try some BnB and basic pressure with a character people are saying I suck for using the same thing over and over.
I mean, if youâre falling for the same setup constantly doesnât that make you the terrible player?
Ok so on FB on the srk story about PM being dropped from VGBC streams I said " I dont see why PM players think it has a future" and that led to a little discussion and I thought of something.
Why dont the PM makers go to kickstarter and say they want to make their own game thats an evolution of PM? Then i bet they would get funded and then they could have their own tournament series and give back to their fans/players and make more money. Why do the PM makers have to live in the shadows of sakurai and nintendo when people love a game that theyve made? If players really like the gameplay then they should go to it and continue to support the PM makers for all the hard work theyve done. Plus if they really have to have nintendo characters in then on pc they can mod the skins to be nintendo characters in casual play.
God I messaged a friend who plays PM with my ideas and hes like âIt wont have Nintendo characters so I wont play it. Yeah sure like well removed Sakurai. My playing PM is fighting nintendo enough, and when Smash 5 comes out and its still slow then Im still gonna complain about it. Dont you play ST and 3rd Strike? Why dont you play SF4?â
He was more childish than that and sent me to some stupid youtube videos. God, Im glad I didnt get into Smash, the drama in that scene is too big and out of control. I think if you hate Sakurai you should be trying to get him removed from power so that Smash 4 becomes like you want it or 5 at least. This guy is like someone who doesnt vote but theyre the first one to complain about elected officials. PM is just a fan made game not a real Nintendo Smash game, Nintendo isnt going to listen to people who play that. PM to me is just dividing that community even more. At least ST and 3rd Strike are official SF Capcom games. It just seems like if youre gonna play PM over other games youre just being childish and you dont want anything really constructive done to make the real Smash games the way you want them to be.
I was thinking âwonder how GGPO-ass GGPO is doing, havenât played that in yearsâ googled it, my antivirus blocked something and the result in google said they disabled their site due to DDoS attacks.
Anyone know whatâs going on with that?
I havenât used GGPO in years, does it still actually function as a platform to play old arcade games online? I hear people mention something called Fightcade a lot these days but donât know why you wouldnât just go on GGPO.
Cause GGPO has been down on and off again too much lately, and then the ddos attacks happened. Plus FIghtcade doesnt require Port Forwarding, so its way more beginner friendly. So everyone is on Fightcade now.
@OrochiDemon Well project M is an unofficial mod of Brawl as we all know. I mean the project M scene is free to do tournaments at locals and shit. But majors with sponsors and stuff? Thatâs done. You canât take someone eles patented idea, mod it and profit off it. Now like you said if those devs behind project project M want to make their own game with their own characters, cool. If they want to step out of Sakuraiâs and Nintendoâs shadow theyâll have to indeed make their own game from scratch.
Yeah, I wanna go into the smash forum and post my idea, but Im just a little scared to do so after the conversation I had with my friend and he totally went juvenile on me. Im just glad I didnt get into Smash since its community is so divided and the creator of the games hates that its a fighting game.
@OrochiDemon Dude just post your idea. You canât be worried about if people say no. When youâre worried about the chance of people saying no. You miss out on the chance of people saying yes. Also I think Sakurai hates that Smash has become so competitive, not that people see it as a fighter. Itâs not what he invisioned for the game. And now he probably feels pressured to keep the series going when he wants to do other things.
