It’d still be MK though. I’m pretty sure for balancing they just pull frame data out of a hat.
Damn it… MKXL already? Kombat pack 2 hasn’t even come out yet.
By the way, why is Mortal Kombat section hidden from the forum menu? I didn’t even know this subsection actually exists until I found a link to it.

It’s a glitch that we’ve yet to address.
The weird part is that the MK subsection is not hidden for me. I can see it just under Tekken.
Yeah, it’s visible on the main forum page, but there are some menus where it doesn’t appear.
Yo there is a vote going on on TFC’s facebook right now for what game gets a $1000 pot bonus: 3S or SSBM. 3S is currently leading but let’s get some support for 3S! https://www.facebook.com/events/1660638077526142/permalink/1663407303915886/
LOL Mugen is on that list
No.
What about this, from 3 days ago?
Thinking about picking up a game for the Genesis. Are there any fighters that are a must have for that console? I definitely don’t want to get something that is inferior to the SNES port.
Eternal Champions. not sure if they are actually good though.
Sigh I spent an hour looking for an opponent in Vampire Savior on PS3. Only found one dude from Japan. I then go to play some third strike and within 2 minutes I find an opponent. After an hour I played about 8 different people. I think that kinda confirms that despite the demand for Darkstalkers from fans. There definitely isn’t enough to warrant a sequel. I think a reboot would be the only way to go for the series. But I gotta say I’m really enjoying third strike. Definitely gonna play more.
Anything that can be bad about a fighting game is wrong with this game. Awkward, clunky, cringeworthy fighting, gimmicks that are lazily thrown in, one of which literally being who can mash the buttons harder. There are generally braindead fights, and this godawful style, where the character models and stages are boring and ugly, the fighting itself looks hilariously bad, the sound design adds to the effect of it looking like two characters awkwardly slamming into each other like rag dolls, a try hard announcer, the game is all around extremely boring, it’s just so, so bad. The game is just a piece of garbage that was a cash grab selling on the title alone, I don’t see the appeal of it besides being a three year old who’s never played a fighting game before.
Best bet is to play on Fightcade and ask for matches on the Facebook Vampire Saviour group, since there arent a ton of people playing on Fightcade these days either.
Generally a poor assumption by Capcom to gauge interest by re-releasing an old game. They may as well have based SFV’s interest on the amount of people playing SF2HDR…
Oh yeah I’m aware of the FB Savior group. That’s where I get most matches from. But my experince yesterday just confirms what I had said. Because a game that is active or has a viable community. You should just be able to hop on and find people to play. Which was the case with Thrird Striek OE.
Since I’m not seeing an EVO lineup discussion thread, I’ll start the conversation here. The main lineup for this year goes:
-SFV
-UMvC3
-Tekken 7
-GGXrdR
-MKX
-KI
-Sm4sh
-Melee
-Pokken
The only game that really “disappeared” is Persona 4, which was basically replaced by Pokken. I don’t get why EVO hosts 2 Smash games. Melee is on a 2 generation old console, so I think it would be a pain in the ass to run. Even if you put out the “but they’re so different!” argument, couldn’t we say the same about CvS2, ST, 3S, VSav, MvC2, and King of Fighters? Why does the autistic Smash Taliban get 2 games when the OGs who have a passion for the games that built this community have to settle for side tournaments?
I think Melee players are like one whole army, big enough to take out ISIS, that MrWizard just can’t not consider (double negative intended.)
Why does the autistic Smash Taliban get 2 games when the OGs who have a passion for the games that built this community have to settle for side tournaments?
Because tons of people play and watch both games. The same can’t be said of the smaller communities for CVS2, ST, 3S, VSav, etc. You could argue that it’s kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy to not highlight those games and then say “well, no-one wants to watch these ones”, but realistically Melee/Smash4 will each draw many more participants and viewers no matter how you slice it. Don’t get why Pokken is in though, I only ever heard of that game getting largely ignored.
It would be nice if they had a slot in the EVO schedule for an “OG Event” of some kind. Just take an old-school game (maybe by random draw, pick a name out of a hat or something), give it a nice stage and elevate it to one of the major streams for a few hours. Cause my favourite event at Evo 2014 was the X-Mania 3 v 3 event. Granted, that was a pretty special occasion (20th anniversary of ST), but it’d be nice to see more…elaborate, let’s say, events for the classics.
