Fei Long Moveset/Attributes

LOL.

I was getting dunked on by Patrick Chewing:rofl:

You just gotta flame kick right as they touch you to utilize invincibility. It’s actually harder to DP a long ranged jump in, better if your flame kick can touch the meat of their body.

Lost me there. What do you exactly mean by ā€œthe meat of their bodyā€? Does that mean the flame has to touch a part of their body that’s not clothed?

Can you give a little brief description or example?

Basically hit his dp extremely late. Right before they touch you.

lol.

Basically, trying to DP outstretched limbs (like ryu’s j.HK) from far away is risky as you have to time it tighter so the invincibility goes through his foot. It’s much easier to make your hit box connect with theirs without trading when they are close to you. So instead of your kick hitting their limb, you hit their torso, or atleast close to it.

But DP late as possible if you can. If you have meter, EX flame kick is the most reliable, so I’d use it when I can. If not, HK version is great for anti air.

MK version on the ground since it’s only 1 hit and does the most damage. Most of the time you don’t get both hits out of HK on the ground to make it do more damage than the MK one.

IMO, don’t use the LK one, ever. The invincibility just isn’t long enough, at best you will trade with it.

Thank you guys, now I understand.

What is Feilong’s best simple combo? is it just high punch then rekka’s or is there another deadly and easy to do combo?

And any idea how to deal with M.Bison’s headpress? i fought a guy that always do headpress and having problem hitting him while he did that, i did the flame kick but goes to trade and i lose more hp than him

You can…

-backdash on his descent towards you and he’ll land right in front of you which I usually throw out (:hp: xx Rekka Ken). The beauty about this is that it’s a knockdown and you can dash in to keep the pressure on him.

-Jumpback :HK: before he reaches you. Good alternative when you need to create space between him and you. Problem is, Fei needs to get close.

-Neutral jump :mk: - Haven’t really tried this but from what I’ve read or heard, it seems to hit clean and works well for spacing.

-And if you’re really feeling gutsy or flashy. You can simply walk back (don’t backdash), again he’ll land in front of you. Dash forwards and Tenshin him.

Final Note: Keep in mind that he’s going to try to trick you once he’s realized you know the answer to his Head Stomp.

I did them both and i just realized when you mention walk back, sometime feilong was on blocking stance and sometimes he walks backwards, any idea why? or is it because Bison did it with a punch instead of the kick version?

May I add you as friend please

Sure, you can add me. Just note, I’m not the best Fei Long out there or anything. I’m average (if even that, lol).

Active frames puts you in block, I suppose. The headstomp allows you to walk back whereas the punch or DR puts you into block.

If you can’t walk back, you know he’s going for the DR. If you can, he’s going for the Headstomp.

On a side note, I’ve been trying to get stronger with my pokes so I’ve actually been trying to play a few matches without throwing out any rekkas, CW’s or flamekicks. I’ve noticed I rely too much on Fei’s specials and almost barely on his normal moves. Basically try to win my matches with normals (inside blockstrings, of course) only.

Once I get past that, I’ll start working my normals with Focus Attacks and cancelling my normal moves to get a more aggressive approach.

Thanks mate, i’ll add you tonight if my wife lets me get online :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not that good either, just started playing Fei after ATL_R3DD whopped me
His Crouching medium kick works super well up close also his overhead, i just don’t like his High kick (sometimes i press forward by accident and he did that 2 kicks).

I barely use his ex moves, usually i save it for the super, any suggestion when is a good time to use his ex? and how long does it take for you to tenshin then combo to connect?

Which EX are you referring to?

And what do you mean by how long does it take for me?

I’ll do a crossup j.mk > s.lp xx EX Tenshin…

cr.lk, cr.lk xx EX Tenshin

lp Rekka > mp Rekka > Ex Tenshin…

Is that what you mean?

any of his EX

I meant connecting a hit after tenshin, i have never used it at all.

from s.lp to ex Tenshin can it be broken? ie. ryu does a shoryuken after you do s.lp

from rekka to ex Tenshin it doesn’t count as combo or does it?

does ex Tenshin gives you invicibility frame? or it just gives you extra distance as i know his regular Tenshin sucks.

and his throwing range is to short too :frowning: unless he has kara throw (which i do not know how to do it)

HAHAHAHA, I found a new trick for Fei Long !!! perhaps some already know but hey its new to me :stuck_out_tongue:

you can actually duck all fireball attacks (including Ryu’s super and ultra) but not Sagat’s low tigershot with his personal move #4 (I think or was it 3, any how it is the one where he sleeps on the ground)

Timing is very early, going to test it to see if it can evade Blanka’s rolling attack tonight

from s.lp to ex Tenshin can it be broken? ie. ryu does a shoryuken after you do s.lp

Yes it can with special moves or by jumping

from rekka to ex Tenshin it doesn’t count as combo or does it?

not really, It’s a reset

does ex Tenshin gives you invicibility frame? or it just gives you extra distance as i know his regular Tenshin sucks.

Just the small amount of extra range

and his throwing range is to short too :frowning: unless he has kara throw (which i do not know how to do it)

s.hk~lp+lk, not much range but better than nothing

lol PA 5 is a great move just don’t get yourself in trouble with it since there are better options getting past a wave of projectiles

hahaha yup, but it looks cool and imagine what they are going to say if they know that say Ryu’s ultra just passes away like that and seeing Fei sleeps on the ground

Then again, what are the odds Ryu would throw an ultra at random?
And you pretty much have to do the pa before his ultra.

Still, if you can pull it off, the Ryu player will probably just abandon the match… lol

hahaha yeah, its true we don’t get that much often but i did it yesterday  cool stuff

probably he drop his jaw thinking its going to be a free hit

Wow, didn’t think about that. Using taunt to bait an ultra.
Well, after the projectile has passed, it’s a free hit for YOU then.
Great stuff.

Well not really a free hit cause i was cracking up and laughing and had my controller down
