Fei Long Moveset/Attributes

Discuss the character’s entire moveset here, including normal moves, special moves, super moves, and all the other miscellaneous stuff like focus attacks, ex moves, jumps, and throws.

Also list attributes such as dizzy count, lifebar points, character size and special hitbox properties.

Once a full movelist including frame data has been provided for the character, this post will be edited to include all of it, with proper credit to the guy who copied all that stuff from the Japanese guide or whatever.

I’ll update this post as all the info comes in so no one has to scan thru xx amount of pages for info.*

Why… why…

:uf:

:uf:…

why? Didn’t we conclude this was bullshit in like… 96?

Oh lord, not again!

Well I agree with that OP. Its just stupid to make moves more complicated than they should be. A move should be complicated enough to not do it on mistake, but not so complicated that it stops people from doing it when they need it.

Being good at the game shouldn’t have anything to do with your ability pull off moves, but rather your ability to use them when needed. This is why it was fixed in HD remix.

That’s fair. I withdraw my argument for another day/thread.

SFIV Training Manual Page

Pretty sure that not all hits of chicken wing break armor. Maybe only the first hit? I vaguely remember a Cammy/Fei vid where I think the last hit got focused. Gotta find it…

EDIT:

Doesn’t look like he has a Chicken Wing attack, more like a flying to drop kick attack :stuck_out_tongue:

chicken wing getting nerfed kinda depresses me…

EX CW can be comboed after, point blank lk CW can be punished.

What parts of Chicken Wing hit overhead? I’ve seen the last hit crouch-blocked in the Fei/Gen vid.

It looks like the question should be asked here since it could help others out … but I’m trying to get used to the new “old” chickenwing motion. Is there a common direction that people usually miss when doing the chickenwing?

I’m trying the old motion out in Classic Mode of HD Remix (since it’s the same input) and maybe they eased up on the motion for SFIV (input window remedies) … but does anyone have tips on what I could be doing wrong with the motion? The usual result is Fei jumping up diagonally towards the CPU with a kick. I’m at about 3 chickenwings for every 10 attempts at the moment

Appreciate any help since I’d like to be down with Fei Long’s basic moveset before SFIV comes out.

Well, the Chicken Wing definitely broke armor in the second 1UP Game Night vid (one of the matches toward the end):

Only the first kick hit, though…have to go back and make sure it wasn’t reversal only…

Make sure you’re beginning from directly back, and when you end the motion, hold it at the :uf: point and be quick to hit K before you feel you’d leave the ground. Exaggerate each point as you do the motion too. You have to make sure you hit every point as you make the motion.

It doesn’t have to be done at lightning speeds. In-fact, you can do the input at a slower pace. That may be best until you get use to feeling what it feels like when you succeed.

u guys do realize that sf4 motions is a shit load more forgiving then ST motions. so its a lot easyer to do it.

please no motion talk :frowning:

As to the 'wing, according to that official guidebook link, he has no ‘glassbreaking’ moves. I seem to remember that too… was it the EX version that broke?

Fei Long Footage starts at 40:30

~Can’t find the 'wing breaking armor now.
~EX flame kick is 3 hits

It happens at 42:17 in the video. It looked like the first hit.

Sorry for bringing this up again but could a 270 motion also result in the flying kick to come out?

Had to look that up. 3/4 of a circle, would that be easier for you?
