and sorry to seem all thread-nazi, just wanna keep it focused on Fei’s actual moves, y’know?

frame data?
quick post after like 2 minutes of messing around:
rekkas are unsafe, all versions. ryu can do reversal dp every time
command grab is pretty slow, im guessing 10 frames at least
linking close fierce after fierce chicken wing is really hard
juggling the ultra does crap damage
close stand jab links to close stand fierce easily, couldn’t find any other verifiable combos into rekka. dunno if close jab can be crouched
low strong links to low strong/low forward, both of which are super cancel-able (not specials)
low jab seems really slow and probably not even advantage on hit. seems bad for option select throw breaking
ex rekkas is still just 3 rekkas, but each hit adds flames to opponent
jump mk is a really good cross up
Seriously? NOOOOOOOOO.
Guess it’s a combo / punish only move then.
Use low short instead of jab, it’s really good and can be linked up to 5 times I think? lol
Also, good news on his jumping forward. Had heard earlier that it wasn’t so good for crossup.
I’m keepin’ my eye open for frame data, once I see some I’ll post it up.
Unsafe rekkas is a surprise… people with review copies were saying the first one was pretty safe.
I know ex rekkas do more damage for the same number of hits, do they have armor or any invicibility?
Fei Long is my favorite char since I discover him in SSFII. Unfotunately in the turbo version I never managed to do his chicken wing so I gave up using him… Thanks Capcom USA for the easy way to do his flying kick in SSFIITHDR : again a great pleasure to play him. Now I must practice seriously the hard move for SFIV…:annoy::arazz:
Been messing around with the command grab. Slow, as has already been mentioned. The EX version definitely has more range, not sure if it gives more frames afterwards, doesnt seem like it. An example of the range difference, FA level 1 gets blocked, dash cancel forward into normal command grab, the grab whiffs, but hits if you do EX version.
Been using it after f+mk to some degree of success, very few other normals leave you in range to do it after.
That’s gonna be really risky against opponents. The overhead doesn’t leave you with much advantage, even on hit. Good to know with the range but don’t foresee that being a common or reliable setup.
You’re probably right, the CPU seems hesitant to try reversals after the overhead, am pretty sure I would eat a lot of reversal SPD’s and DP’s against human opponents.
Well, I guess that leaves you with the mixup of block or command grab. Or maybe flame kick or command grab after overhead?
I think reversal throw beats everything but flame kick, will test more later to see what works, but I think flame kick FADC is the best option to keep them from pressing buttons and maintaining pressure.
anything on his health/stun?
Just tested, health is normal (1000), while stun is slightly better than normal (1050)
I’m surprised no one brought up shortcuts yet.
What shortcuts can Fei do with his moveset?
Hopefully someone can find a shortcut with Chickenwing. :lovin:
update to what i posted earlier:
^ Hey Buk, can you test out any shortcuts Fei may have?
Not all that special but I noticed it (also noticed with Dan and posted in that thread) but his ultra does not armor break, now my friends FA couldn’t hit me between the hits but there is a good chance something like a boxer ex dash punch or some shit would.
Zangief did his running grab and I ultra’ed, then got thrown
Im not finding many moves that cancel easily into his flamekick. S HP then flamekick seems to work sometimes? A bit unfair cause the shotos can cancel almost anything into anything
