Correction, it was PA #5 that Fei goes to sleep on the ground and it evade all fireball attacks except for Sagat’s Low Tigershots, Sakura’s EX fireball and Akuma’s Air fireball
hey guys I discovered something or should say stumbled on something the other day, it may be new or you guys may have already discovered this, but i was playing a match the other day against a Blanka user and I did a CW just as he was about to hit me, and fei ducked right under the rolling ball.
I’ve adopted that thought philosophy as well. Less is more…
You need to use Flame kick from a crouching position and very late to be effective
It works way better from a crouching position meaning you should use the shortcut to perform it.
And don’t forget st.HK

Has anyone ever done an Air Focus Attack?
For example, right before landing I hit the Focus Attack against someone’s AA.Visually, it looked like Fei’s in a midair crouch block pose but with FA properties. It’s kind of a brief second but the focus charge continues even when he’s landed.

somehow i don’t survive without using flame kick, and i only use ex flame kick to punish whiffs
While trying to flame kick a jumping opponent I sometimes missed the motion and instead successfully went right under my opponent jumping attack with cr.MK, and hit him as he touched the ground
Do you think this can be reliable ? Gotta give it a try in training mode
Online, it’s a viable. I don’t think it’s a good tactic offline at all. Their foot seems to come real close to the ground.
I can totally understand. It’s definitely viable. I’m not knocking it at all. For AA purposes, my style of play has transitioned me away from that as an option it seems. I notice myself using it on wakeup or in a combo more often now.
I fell for that recently and I do think it’s a bad habit.
The 40 (60 ?) added damage ain’t worth the 1 ex bar.
You’d better save it for Super / Ex CW or AA Ex Flame Kick
it does 200 damage just ex flame kick but i don’t use it just ex flame kick, i added hp then ex flame kick, it does a nice 300 damage
cause most of the time, i don’t really have much chance to use my super but if one whiffs then surely i don’t do just that but doing a bnb ends with super
but of course if you don’t want to use your ex meter you can always do another combo
but sometimes an extra 40 or 60 damages does make a big difference in the end game
If you’re going to do a bnb with super. The best option would be to start off with cr.lk > st.lp > cr.mp xx super.
OMG st. HP > HK flamekick or EX Flame kick don’t work sometimes against Sagat…because of his weird hit box, you’ll only get one hit of the HK/EK flame kick and the other hits whiff… It’s bad enough that Sagat has HP and damage advantage over Fei and now Fei can’t even connect his most damaging regular combo on him. UGH such BS I swear!
It actually happens to a few other characters as well, or maybe the position is weird when I do that.
Anyway, I’d try using cl.hp>mk fk, or just use hp>rekkas instead when I remember it. But again, can’t believe there are more and more BS coming out from that ass-face.
Btw, sometimes when I use fa on Elf, and going for cl.hp>hk.fk combo, the fk will totally whiff because Elf got pushed too far away by the cl.hp. Kinda weird…
I’m starting to think, what if we picked a high tier character and main him/her… nah, just him, there’s no female top tier characters afaik. Anyway, you picked him instead of FeiLong, say, Balrog, or Sagat. Would we play noticeably better? Could we accomplish more?
Not that I regret picking FeiLong, but couldn’t help wondering when someone talked about tier list again.
I tried to find another main but couldn’t find the one that plays similar to FeiLong. Maybe he’s a more unique character than I thought.
I actually thought of the same thing and picked up a sub-character (Gouken). Helps keep the game fresh for me i guess and i agree there really isn’t another character that plays like Fei.
Picking a high tier character doesn’t make you more successful anyway… all of our bad habits usually stick with us no matter what character we use. Just gotta analyze yourself and find out what you need to work on or figure out what to do against the ‘high-tier’ army.
Yah that will be an on going war, but think of how good it is when you beat a high tier whore with your Fei Long.
I play most of the time with Fei Long but because I play with alot of friends (via Irc or offline), they’ve gotten used to my habits and basically find all the flaws with my Fei. Not to say that I don’t try to change but hey, whatever right?
When I get frustrated I switch over to Guile. It throws them off for a loop only because my playstyle with Guile is completely different than with Fei.
And no, I don’t play turtle Guile. Yes, I do know his bnb combos and am semi-aggressive with him.
if you do this then i suggest you make sure you press the hp button for super other wise only the first hit connects and they can block the rest
