i disagree with this. i think sent/thor/hulk will devastate teams very quickly. DHC’s, THC’s, X-factors, resets, assist kills…lots of ways to extremely capitalize on mistakes. mvc2 sent/hulk/glitched juggy was a TERROR if you didn’t pay attention to what you were doing. it got owned otherwise, but if you got caught slippin, ggpo.

I think that team might actually work, since hulks gamma wave assist can cover thors approach and his projectiles, toss in the sentinel force assist and you might actually be able to play keepaway with a team of bruisers lol. Plus thors mighty tornado might dhc into hsf actually, God lord.

Thats good to know i guess, but what applications do you think this will have? Can’t really think of any off the top of my head.

Mind games, mostly. Jump in, anticipate the anti-air, activate df Mighty Strike but charge it until the AA whiffs, punish.

I’m pretty sure charging the H version of Mighty Smash will give more hits and damage. Dunno about what else though.

Random guesses:

  1. More hits/damage (as mentioned)?
  2. +frames on block?
  3. super armor?
  4. protection against projectiles?

Won’t know til someone tests for sure.

Thor can Kara his Mighty Punish giving it huge range

No superarmor. Just a lot of priority.

Unless kara’d, Mighty grab has crap range. BUT if Kara’d off of crouching fierce (or whatever the move is) it has VERY good range.

Wow Thor is looking pretty good. Especially in the corner. So much for all this previous theory fighting of him being ass. Those kara grabs have sick range.

Mighty Strike doesn’t give Thor any armor/protection while charging it. They tried on the stream. However, after when he propels himself forward he gets a huuuggeee amount of lightening effects all around him. Much more than the standard version. I’m guessing the hitbox is much bigger, going by that. They didn’t test if it ignores projectiles once he’s moving. Hopefully it does and/or it gives him +frames on block. Either way, I’m hoping it will be a good way for Thor to get in when he has an assist cover while he’s charging it.

Thor’s normal command grab still has really shit range. So weird, because when Seth was showing it the range was nice. I’m wondering if there’s a newer build floating around with Seth, and we won’t see it until a day 1 patch. lol conspiracy.

However, as mentioned the kara grab range for his throws (command and super) is huuuggeeeeee.

Can’t use flight during air series to extend his air combos. His flight is too slow. I kinda expected that but nice to have confirmation. However, he can use flight at the end of his air series to set up air-to-air command grab resets–again, as expected. He might be able to use certain assists like Dante Jam session in conjunction with flight combos, but we definitely need to test that.

Mighty Resets! Combo into Mighty Smash in a corner, jump, Mighty Hurricane Reset, Air Combo, Mighty Tornado, wait, Mighty Hurricane reset.

I think Thor will rule the corners where resets and kara throws thrive.

Yea man, Seth went out of his way to show that the range on his command grab was much improved since the older builds. Weird shit.

team “Brute” in MvC2 which consisted of HULK, Juggernaut and colossus was a very effective team, there are no bad combinations of teams in MvC so long as you know how to play them effectively.

Hmm, yeah, I really don’t get it. Even if the range was glitched again, it wouldn’t be THAT consistently glitched. Something’s up, we need to get a word out to Killian.

I’m still laughing about some dude asking on the stream if his taunt (Mighty Speech) was safe. SAFE FROM WHAT? It’s a TAUNT that builds meter. You think they’re gonna give him a move that does no damage, builds meter, AND he can’t get hit out of? You’re killing me b.

Granted, you can cancel out of it, so you’re not entirely vulnerable, but still… It’s not safe because it’s a TAUNT.

I mean, I guess you can bait some stuff with it if you use it at fullscreen, but that’s the same as doing anything. lol.

Niitsuma did say they didn’t stop development when the game went gold.

…But it was the retail version, and Joe was there, what, last week? Why the hell would they re-nerf that?

They obviously couldn’t have re-nerfed it. But either we’re seeing something wrong ( maybe Seth was using the highest range version of his throw and we’re seeing the lowest range version in the stream ). Or there’s a build discrepancy.

Impossible, Joe used all three ranges. All were bad.

but you can kara throw. judging from the range seth was atempting the kara with his broken hand, looks like you can get light SPD range.

Who cares. Kara throw is where it’s at.
