What is thor’s best assist against projectiles, and against rtsd pressure. I’ll be using cap, stark, and thor. But I want to use cap’s charging star for anti-projectile coverage like when I want to fire proton cannon randomly, I haven’t decided if I wanna use stark’s uni-beam or repulsor blast since I’m not sure what assist is best for me with thor in this case.
Anyone know if Thor can OTG with his down/forward Mighty Stirke in the air?
For example if he does air series–>S, can he use the down/forward Mighty Strike to OTG the opponent before he (Thor) lands on the ground? I know he can use Mighty Smash to OTG instead, but I don’t think he can re-launch after that–maybe he can in the corner though (someone correct me if wrong).

he doesn’t get much love at the events and when someone does play him
it usually doesn’t end well for thor…
I highly doubt anything of note will come out for Thor anytime soon. At least till after release. I’m interested in him because he’s new and he may be overshadowed by some of the stronger looking new grapplers as well. Haggar and She-hulk are looking pretty decent. I just think players wont be used to his style. Seth likes him but he may be trying to hype Thor up a bit.
Yea don’t expect anything till after release, people mainly use him as an assist character, closest thing to competent thor gameplay i have seen is this [media=youtube]L-anSkHaEGY[/media] , im looking forward to seeing what ultradavid can put together once he gets his hands on the game for a while.
Thor is one of those chars who we won’t see the best of untill everybody gets training mode. Wouldn’t expect much from these events cause everyone is just doing the same thing.
Oh and no grabbing or whatever you guys are on about can not be done as a character as they are coming in. As soon as they land however…different story.
I’ve been on a quest to figure out who my inaugural MvC3 team is going to be. And on this quest, I’m stopping by Thor. I like big, powerful, high-stamina characters (I’ve grown to adore T. Hawk in SSF4). I’m thinking that Thor may be a solid character to use. Just wondering who you guys think would be decent partners for Thor. Preferably in a big-man team or something of the sort. A friend of mine and I joked about Sentinel/Thor/Tron Bonne. And I’d be giddy like a schoolgirl for that kind of stamina, but I’m not too sure how good the synergy is there.
I don’t think Thor is going to be optimized on a team of all heavyweights–that’s just too much of the same, and too easily countered by the right team or strategy. Sentinel might work, as he works with everyone and deals mostly with long range, but that may or may not be the optimal pairing. Some of the ones I’m thinking of include Wesker, Super-Skrull, Amaterasu, Hsien Ko, and maybe Joe.
Hsien-Ko has been one I’ve considered. Trish is another one who I’ve thought about and could mix things up. I’d LOVE to get arthur in there somewhere, but I just don’t see that happening
I dunno, I think he could work on a well-conceived heavy team. IMHO the most important thing to look for is assist synergy. Do other heavy characters have assists that will cover his weaknesses? Does Thor have assists that will cover their weaknesses? Also, keep DHCs in mind as well. I think those are the main things that should be considered when looking for his teammates.
We’ll see how it turns out in actual play though. :lol:
can you guys honestly believe some people hate the fact thor doesn’t have a level 3 hyper combo?

all of his hypers cost 1 meter
and they’re all good at what they do
