Thanks to everyone who showed out for our first official get together! Everyone had a great time and some really good matches went down. We will be doing it again next Saturday. Thanks yet again for another awesome gathering! The turnout gets better and better each time we have it. So much good shit went down this time. Thanks to KOLD for getting the Facebook page together (great design by the way :)). *** BIG*** thanks to Josh for throwing out his offer for buying more equipment!! We had some great discussions late last night about future accommodations. We took into mind all of your suggestions and are looking at eventually getting an additional EVO monitor to get another setup going. Josh, James, and I are working on the budget and will announce any new equipment ideas/purchases as things come together. I donated my 360 TE Stick as a permanent in-house stick to the Saltmine last week. We also had a **TON **of stick parts donated to the Saltmine thanks to Ethan, Brian, James, and myself. I also donated my soldering tools and supplies as well. We literally have back up sticks, buttons, quick disconnects, wires, etc. for anyone in need. There was an excellent level of play going down in all games last night. I’d definitely like to say GGS to all! There were a lot of new and old faces that showed up last night. Than you for showing up. You guys really made the event successful. Thanks again and keep spreading the word! See you in the Saltmine next Saturday! I totally forgot about last week and my phone was removed so I didn’t get messages either. Tomorrow, though, I already have my alarm set, so I am definitely coming until work at 10. I plan on getting one of those Asus EVO monitors as well so I can provide one more setup with an Xbox. (I don’t think I’m the Josh you’re referring to. If I am just call me Kruger.) And get that facebook page posting about casuals on the group page, that was the whole point wasn’t it? And who is JoeSchmoe? Do we know him?
Glad to see you made it! The Josh guy I was talking about is the dude with the beard. LOL. That would be awesome if you got another EVO monitor for the setup. I know you guys had to take off earlier, but we did actually get some use out of the smaller CRT set ups. It was actually really nice to be able to have four setups rolling. The eventual plan would be just to have 4 evo monitors and then we would be pretty much at max capacity. I unfortunately wasn’t able to talk to you about it, but Ben said you do some streaming. Any ideas you would have for us to get a setup figured out would be great. I’ve been reading the 8Way Run streaming guide (a bit older but still some good stuff). Let me know if you have any ideas. The mysterious JoeSchmoe showed up! LOL. We played some great games and it was cool to hear he’s headed to Evo. Looks like he will be a regular and will supply another PS3 for the setup.

Almost all my questions were answered that night! Haha I stream a bit but only from my laptop itself, I don’t have a capture card or know anything about recent tech but it wouldn’t be hard for me to figure it out. If you have any questions or want me to get something running just text me or ask on Saturday. Getting a poverty stream up is fairly easy.
From what that guide says, and other guides on SRK say as well, the best card we could use for this is this one. I have a small mixer that may work for our purposes amongst my DJ equipment, I just dunno if it will work with everything we have. I’ll bring it this Saturday so you can take a look at it.
As for stream graphics, I’ve been working on those steadily since Saturday night, I’m hoping to have the full set done by this Saturday.
OMG… I haven’t seen this at all until today. I can’t believe I didn’t though. I’m from Watertown SD and that not too far from you guys. I’m a Part of Delta Red Squad if anyone don’t know DRS, Look up Masta CJ. Any who, I usually don’t have a ride up there but I will say that I do have a stream set up that I could bring with me at all times. Gotta wanna know the set up for out there so I would be able to come. When is the next get together?

As for the stream, I’ve been working on a set of graphics to go with Saltmine streams, and we would like to do our own setup still, so maybe you can touch base with Mike and I and give us a couple hints at what we should be doing?
WOW . . . a lot of action here to respond to LOL. Ok, a couple things to get us started. I did a little more research on streaming devices as well and the Blackmagic looks like the way to go. We will discuss the whole streaming thing this Saturday. I think we should give Krug3r’s poverty stream a shot first. If we could get Doctor_Rouse there one of these weekends he could just play and see our set up first. Then after getting an idea of what we have, we could plan on what to do and see what he would like to bring/supply/set up. Let us know when you can show up Doc and we will get some plans together. I will talk further in depth equipment-wise with Kold this Sat. I will talk to Krug3r about doing a first/test stream at our first meeting after this Sat. Bring any ideas you have this Sat and we will go from there. I definitely love what’s coming together here
Also, unrelated to the Saltmine (mostly), just finished finalizing and posting the info for the next tournament at Section 9. Those of you who have been coming out and making those tournaments a reality, you have my most sincere gratitude. Hopefully we can get some of the Saltminers to come out and show the strength of what we got. You can find the thread for SRK here, and the facebook page for the event here. Thanks again to all who showed up! It was awesome to see all 4 set-ups being used SFxTekken got some better representation this time around. There were some pretty damn epic Marvel matches taking place over in the corner. A ton of salt from all us Marvel guys, but killer games all around. I really look forward to doing some kind of AE ranking battle next week. After discussing it everyone seems to really be interested and on board. Thanks again for the great participation and see you next weekend - June 30th!
