Fallout 3

Sadly it’s unscaled 720p :’(

so I got to megaton and I didn’t have high enough explosives or repair to do any of the shit there(including asplode the bomb) so I’ve been wandering the wastelands(currently doing the “Find Ian” sidequest from that one town that starts with an a).

So far I’m diggin it, I’m having trouble deciding whether or not I want to blow up megaton or not…

I plan to finish up my quests in megaton. Kill the sheriff with whatever flamer ammo I have left. (hello big guns 40) and then jack his hat, rifle and blow the place to a heaping pile of corpses.

So, what job did you guys end up with after doing the g.o.a.t.? I was upper management. I love the introduction part. How they put the character customization in was pretty cool and makes you feel a bit closer to your character. I thought it was pretty cool. 3rd person view looks crappy. What difficutly setting are you guys playing on?

Do you guys think that like every other game Bethesda has made… Fallout 3 will have expansions?

Boy this game is dissapointing, it’s a good game but it’s way too similar to Oblivion and a lot of the animations, character models, textures, gameplay, ect are pretty dated. I’m playing on the PC with everything jacked up to the max and I’m thinking I might aswell have gotten the 360 version. I’m pretty iffy on the combat too, enemies move way too fast and the VATS (or whatever) system can be pretty annoying cuz’ you can use up all your AP with a enemy just a few feet away from you and miss every shot. If you are facing a group of enemies, that pretty much means it’s time to die and reload your last save. ugh…

I’m not saying it’s a bad game, I probably played it for like 5 hours yesterday and I’m feeling the urge to play it now. However if you’re overwhelmed by all the game games being released this holiday season, you should pass on Fallout 3 for now and just play it next year.

Are the rumors about this game sucking on the PS3 true & if so WTF?

I was going to give it as a gift for PS3 but if its shitty I’ll get something else…

Well GS gave the ps3 version 8.5 LOL!

Is your skill level in what ever weapon you’re shooting at the bad guys high enough? If its not then of course you’re gonna miss.

So far, I’ve done 7 of the 9 missions for Moira. I like the game but I don’t really like it.

Im really happy with this game so far. It has some of the stuff I liked about oblivion, but its vastly improved, plus the setting is way better. Oblivions setting was kind of crappy, things were too bright or to dark and never really felt very epic. This games visual feeling is just much better overall. The VOs are great imo they have Liam Neeson which is awesome, they have that guy from stark trek generations, which is awesome.

The quests are fun, I like how do doing different things gets you different rewards, like a house versus a monetary reward. Im not too far yet, I spent to much time running around the waste beating the shit out of raiders with my baseball bat and hockey mask, casey jones style. I like that melee is actually pretty good against people with guns if your good at finding cover and such. Though I think nothing has been as satisfying as popping someone with a sniper rifle from forever away.

The skill and leveling system is far superior to that of Oblivion so far as well for anyone worried about that. Doesn’t seem like you can fuck your character over as much like you can in oblivion.

I hope as I play through this game continues to be tons of fun, so it will warrant another play through. I know I already missed stealing the bobblehead on my dad’s desk, I also killed mr. marcus or whatever his name was, so maybe next time I’ll work with him and kill the sheriff, instead of having him kill the sheriff and then me killing him. haha.

Also conversations with moira are both annoying and funny at the same time. I suggest always doing the optional parts of the missions, its worth it.

Anyone found the schematic for the Railway Spike Launcher yet? I’d really like to have that, my Repair skill is at 70 right now and it’s itchin’ to make something other than a bottlecap mine.

Loving this game so far. I have a feeling i’ve spread my character too thin though, I’m putting points into lots of different skills. I think i’m screwing my character over in the long run.

I played it for about 4 hours last night with no problems on my ps3

I’m really liking this game but my character runs too slow and the fps combat feels a bit clunky but I’m putting most of my points into melee strength getting sledgehammer kills is the best.

lol I’m beefing up unarmed so I can pwn with the power fist, shit looks fucking AWESOME.

A quick note: Power fist/brass knuckles/punching all works off of the Unarmed skill. If you were putting points into Melee thinking it would help out your power fisting then you’re mistaken. Don’t let this happen to you!

I have to get the news relay and I’m in the west wing of the museum but the stupid thing just points me in circles!

VATS sounds like a good implementation in real time of the old combat system.

I watched some youtube videos, in one of them they got a crit kill with a teddy bear rocket launcher.

Yeah, that’s the Rock-It Launcher. You can get that schematic from Moira very early in the game.

Edit: I have SHIT TONS of remote sensors, cherry bombs, and caps, but where can I find a ton of lunchboxes? Bottlecap mines are fucking broken, something like 300+ dmg, wtf. I’m really glad I went heavy for both Explosives and Repair. That said…

Grenades are really good in this game, but not always in situations where you’d think they would be. If I see a dude up in a window, I can’t toss the grenade in with him, it never gets that high in VATS. It just hits the wall and lazily explodes by me. Shit’s retarded. I couldn’t throw a grenade up one story at a fucking BALCONY.

Yay for Speech craft, shit got me 500 caps for disarming the bomb.
