Fallout 3

I got him. He’s pretty cool. He always knows the best time to come in and finish the job in a pinch, I swear.

Yeah Reilly’s Rangers armor is easily my favorite armor in the game, plus Talon company and Regulators are always chasing my character, so I can keep it at max nonstop with the talon shit for repairs.

The Super Mutant Overlords(with tri-beam), those Albino scorpions(I’ve only encountered one of them), and Enclave Hellfire(cause they’re NEVER alone) are all mad tough.

I hit level 30, the Almost Perfect perk, I think it just overridden my 2 special stat bobble heads. I say oh well. Since that perk popped up though, I basically wasted 8 or 9 levels of Intense Training perks that I could’ve used for some other cool shit. I also wasted perks on Little Leaguer 2 of them, and Puppies!(cause I don’t even have dogmeat tagging along) I say oh well again.

This is “technically” my OG fallout 3 playthrough though(since I quit on the 360 ver only partially through and sold that copy), so my shit is jacked up in some places like my barter is stuck at 80(no bobble head yet I dont think), speech as at 80 forever(but I got that mediator thing to put it over on neutral). It’s just live and learn for me in this.

Whatever happens, happens. Game is too long for me to ever play through it again, especially with even more DLC coming out? I’ll just keep adding on, to the shit. imo there’s basically no reason to even play through again from start if you got the PC version, because you could probably just fuck with the console to fix shit if you’re that hard pressed. Only reason to get a runback is if you trying to change gender up(that’s what I had did, since my very first time playing the game before I sold the 360 version I had some mad max dude, then on PC got this asian ninja bitch).

btw I gave Clover the chinese stealth armor w/shishkebab. Yo there should be a way to tell your crew to not actively engage unless you do so first, so you can just sneak around stuff a lil bit better.

Hard to answer because it’s one of those “love it or hate it” things. I picked it for the lulz. If you don’t have anything better to pick it’s worth it.

Haha the main reason I’m going through again is because like you I picked intense training eight times with my other character. That and I combined a retarded amount of rare weapons/armor by accident. If I screw up on something now though its oh well lol.

Yeah it’s such a shame they put that perk in there, I might just take my intense trainings out of perks using the console and just replace them with the perks all the perks I’d have put in their place. Though I’m just probably going to say fuck it, it’s not like my character is constantly getting raped.

I dont’ remember if this was asked before but, are you playing on PC or 360?

360, otherwise I would’ve done what you just said lol.

Yeah, finished everything the other day. Getting 100’s for all skills was pretty easy (started with intelligence at 7, only found 90 skill books, and I somewhat evenly distributed the points). Also got 10’s for all SPECIAL stats. I ended up with a beastly rifle (using VATS almost exclusively)/melee character. Deathclaws still raped me after all this x_x

Oh and the power armor you get from The Pitt is easily the most badass.

Broken Steel was awesome. Scrounger perk came in handy when I found some more alien cells. They also give you another alien blaster

I’m level 20 (= no DLC) and there’s only one way i beat deathclaws:
Hit repeatdly one of their legs until it’s crippled, then run like hell and aim for the head.
Almost got crazy when trying to get to vault 92 and was in Old Olney.

dart gun is a godsend for deathclaws
although being heavy guns proficient, it doesnt take too long with the unique gatling laser (name escapes me now), mini gun, flame thrower or rocket launcher

I didn’t know you could collect more than 10 ingots and get more stuff in The Pitt. lol. I got 97 total and I don’t know where to get the last 3

The Perforator (after 70 ingots?) is an awesome version of Infiltrator. It shoots straight and it is silenced, which means you could snipe from hundreds of yards without alarming anyone.

I’m approaching level 26 but all skill except barter is 100 now. I hope it isn’t buggy or doesn’t crash when I get to that part.

When Operation: Anchorage drops on the Playstation 3, I’ll be re-inventing my character. Take a look at my build. It’s going to be a melee/Energy Weapons build designed to be a derivative of the Brotherhood of Steel archetype using Cross as a reference, except her base stats aren’t as good as mine.

spoiler

I’m at the crossroads of Broken Steel DLC where i have the option of blowing up the Enclave Air base or the Citidel. I’m thinking about blowing up the Citidel for Callagan’s Magnum (The most powerfull .44), But is it worth losing the Brotherhood of Steel and Star Paladin Cross?(The best with energy weapons, Big guns, small guns),

Jericho could handle big guns and is very tough once he reaches level 20+ (requires evil karma)

Star Paladin Cross dies easily even in level 30. Also once my karma dips to neutral and evil she will just simply stop fighting while there’s enemy engaged and she eventually dies! What a stupid ugly cunt.

WTF is up with Dogmeat now? He simply can’t be killed! I was on level 24 only and I couldn’t even kill him with multiple nukes (Experimental MIRV). lol Now I got Puppies! perk and he’s just virtually immortal. I was just in stealth mode crouched watching while he took on 4 deathclaws at very hard, took him forever to kill them but his health didn’t even reach the halfway point!.

Toughest companions right now with all 3 DLCs I think are (from toughest to least):

  • Dogmeat at level 20+
  • Fawkes (any level)
  • Charon/Sargeant RL3 (level 20+)
  • Jericho (level 20+)
  • Star Paladin Cross (Tough in the beginning but doesn’t really get any tougher once you reach 20+)
  • Clover (I haven’t tried how tough she is once you reach level 20+ though, she keeps switching to melee and gets killed)
  • I haven’t had Butch as a follower yet so I don’t know.

Why are all female companions really ugly? I always gotta give them masks. lol I’m tempted to add body and face mods but I don’t know if those are compatible with Broken Steel.

Found this on the underground railway on the way to Adams Air Force Base:

May want to put a spoiler there. But I got the Magnum. It is meh. Wouldn’t do that again.

I think my Fawkes is bugged. A Super Mutant Behemoth snuck up on us and attacked Fawkes who had an Albino Rad Scorpion on him. He didn’t lose 1 bar of health…

There’s more DLC coming out though, so you might want to keep the Brotherhood around imo.

There’s actually a garden gnome above them. It looks like he put 'em there lol. I can’t remember where but at another point you walk into a bathroom and a bear/gnome are playing chess.

I shot Fawkes with the MIRV three times and he took no damage lol.

Someone critique my build.

^ Are you getting the updates? Why not just make the character geared towards them and then finish when the updates come out?

Point Look comes out next week. I might have to get a bigger hd for my 360 .-.

WHAT THE HELL?!??!?!? IT DOES?

I have been living under a rock for too long.

It’s out on Tuesday friend!

Too much intense training. Especially since at level 30 you can auto raise them all to 9.
Other than the fact that Charisma isn’t 1 (I’m not a charismatic guy :razzy:), it’s pretty good. Also, luck is WAY low.

Didn’t take any useless perks, which is good.

In short: More luck, less Char, less IT. It’s also hard to judge without stats from skills.

I’ve been thinking of a nuka cola grenadier build that includes demolition expert, pyromaniac, some vats/critical stuff and quantum chemist.
In my main I had explosives around 50 and big guns around 75, and when I took pyromaniac my nuka cola grenades were rivaling my fat man (since they do fire damage) I figure with a full explosives stat and the bonuses (two +50%) they will do savage damage just tossing them around, let alone before sneak attack criticals, with grim reapers sprint and large supply of grenades (because of quantum chemist) I think it could be pretty beastly.
The only problem is you need to get to a pretty high level before you can take advantage of it…and it is still a lot of nuka cola to scrounge.

Lower your Charisma and take black widow (assuming you are playing a female character). The damage bonus is nice and you get some extra dialogue options to compensate for the lower CHR. Charisma is probably the worst stat in my opinion. You never really NEED it…it can make your life easier…but so can any of the other stats.
