So I got the new DLC and made a new character. I have enough points for either The Pitt or Operation: Anchorage.
Which has the most useful stuff later in the game?
The most fun?

I know that The Pitt gives you power armor of some sort while Operation: Anchorage gives you a Gauss Rifle and a few other things. All in all, I think that you would want to go for Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, and Broken Steel in order.
The Pitt > OA in every way possible. The Pitt might be kinda tough if you have a low level character though.
Unless you’re sneaking then get Anchorage first because that Chinese stealth armor is bad ass.
Another Q, since I restarted my char and going to max out all my skills, do you get skill points for leveling up from 21-30?
Also, if I max my skills and can’t spend my skill points, does the bug still exist where you can’t exit?
I would assume that yes, you do, although I can’t confirm it for sure.
What you don’t have the PM?
In an interview I saw on youtube, Bethesda says you can.
I tried to grab Broken Steel off of windows live again today and it wasn’t there. This whole DRM and Securom stuff that goes on to prevent pirating, just reinforces pirating because they don’t have to deal with these things. Broken Steel is already available to PC users that pirate the game, whereas those that have the legit game and have to purchase the expansion can’t even get it right now.
Personally I liked the stuff I got out of Anchorage, because it was useful to my stats and how I like to play. The answer to this question will vary imo.
I’m trying to think, which rifle is better: Reservist rifle, or the victory rifle?
Cop the Lincoln Repeater. That shit is BEASTLY for headshots. Ammo is a little more scarce.
I’m currently going around and getting random named weapons. Just got the Kneecaper and terrible shotgun. Good times.
Leigh, have you gotten the Vampire Edge? It’s not particularly special, but it’s a badass name.
A3-21’s plasma rifle is better. If your energy weapons skill is 100, and it is in good condition it can kill deathclaws in one critical headshot. It would pretty much be on par with the alien blaster.
Yeah, that shit is whack. I use the Fisto! and that one sword that’s on fire. I can’t think of the name currently.
That would be the Shishkebab. I told you it was that good shit.
I’m actually thinking of ditching the game until I can cop the downloadables, then starting from square one again, going for the best possible perks for a melee-focused character. Fallout 3 experts, help me out. How’s this look?
S.P.E.C.I.A.L. starters:
Strength: 6
Perception: 3
Endurance: 6
Charisma: 9(for role-playing)
Intelligence: 9
Agility: 4
Luck: 3

Level 19: Intense Training(END)
Level 20: Ninja
Tag Skills: Explosives, Sneak, Repair
Other Skills: Melee Weapons, Speech, Lockpick, Science, Medicine
I’m debating Unarmed. I hear it looks badass as all hell to beat the absolute dogshit out of Super Mutants with your bare hands, and then there are the Deathclaw Gauntlets to consider. I would just have to give up one of my perks for Paralyzing Palm. What do you guys think?
Also, I’m going to be maxing out Sneak and Lockpick as soon as I can. Once I do that, I can more or less gallivant about doing whatever I want, but more importantly, I can get every issue of Grognak the Barbarian, which will level my Melee Weapons skill to 100 without me having to lift a finger.
no sniper or slayer =(
What does Lobelia need Sniper for when it’s all melee, and, there’s no Slayer perk in the game.
I’d take out the Intense Training(END) for Bloody Mess, and one of the Intense Training(AGI)'s for Finesse. I guess you need critical hits or you’re going to be wailing on stuff for a long ass time.
I ain’t no expert at the game(I’m not even finished my playthrough), but Sniping(Gauss and Reservist Rifle), and Melee(Shishkebab and Shocksword), is the main shit I rock. So it’s easier for me to give some tips because melee is what I use too.
late EDIT: take out another IT AGI for Silent Running
i know
just referencing old memories
… Didnt even know this thread was here…
Cool. I didnt realise Fallout 3 had raped so many other people’s lives as well.
It raped me for a while, then I beat it. I will go back for the expansions but I know I am going to get sucked in again.
Holy shit level 30 perk automatically raises all your SPECIAL stats to 9.
Because I’m not going to be entirely stealth-focused(only getting Sneak because all melee specs should have Ninja), I don’t need Silent Running right away. Most of my sneaking hits will be done with grenades anyway, which I lob at my enemies from a safe distance. Call me a dipshit for saying this, but I can’t really feel too stealthy when I intend to rock power armor and a sword that’s on fucking fire for levels twelve through thirty.
I’m trying to see what my perks for levels twenty through thirty will be. Anyone care to help me? Here’s what I have so far.

If have a female character black widow is pretty good.
If you want 10’s (as base value) on SPECIALS you’re going to have to get the SPECIAL-related bobbleheads AFTER you get the almost perfect perk.
Action boy/girl is great with grim reaper’s sprint.
