The dog is kinda random. I found him near a broken down nuka cola truck (near Paradise Falls) fighting some deathclaws lol.
I’m biased because I think FO3 is pretty fucken weak but a lot of people are complaining about the play time and that you can’t really do anything after it ends, considering how it’s just a “simulation.”
PC users are just as annoyed since they have to actually pay for it and that you need GFW to get it in the first place.
So if you’re on the PC, just download the user mods, they’re far better than Anchorage.
Really? People complain about the play time? I think I already got my moneys worth at 20 hours. Im not even close to finish with the game yet.
Pure truth. If you shoot straight through the main elements, then yes. The game IS short and lame.
If you play through it and explore like you should (considering the fact that you dropped a nice chunk on it, as well as the fact that it’s a damn RPG) then you can EASILY drop 50+ hours on this game.
I had to update to the latest patch to play the DLC which fixed all the crashes but fuckin slowed down the VATS It used to be very fast, when I initiate VATS I start clicking targets immediately now there’s a full second wait before I could click anything. Really annoying. I hope they fix this later.
DLC goes by pretty quick (even at Very Hard) although you get some items after. The upcoming DLCs sound way better than this one but this one is alright for 10 bucks I guess. (I hope the next ones are also 10 bucks).
I started with a brand new character at level 1 and went directly to do the DLC simulation. You get to wear a Power Armor immediately (without visiting Citadel) right after you finish the DLC so that was great. I like the new scoped gauss rifle (energy weapons) but it really is just for long range. This is what the sniper rifle should’ve been. New chinese stealth suit is very good too, you immediately go into stealth mode (invisible) every time you are crouched plus you can stack lucky shades and a +1 PER hat (although it looks stupid) even though the armor looks like it covers the character completely.
Also started my first evil character. I don’t know why I didn’t do it before but this is actually fun. lol Blowing up megaton was pretty cool (make sure you steal stuff first before you do! including that bobblehead).
I still have to buy this game and wondered what they’re bringing outside of Anchorage. I borrowed it though and I still want to finish it.
I thought they were gonna make it so you can keep playing after the ending or something and changing the level cap because when the developers were asked what did they learn from this game from their fans, those were the 2 things they said. So maybe there will be some decent changes to that in the near future.
Generally speaking, you’ll find Dogmeat in the Scrapyard, south of the place where you gotta disarm all the mines.
DLC was worth it but only because I like Fallout so much. It seems kinda steep at $10 for only 3-4 hrs but you get some bitchin’ gear at the end. I just hope the next one isn’t another simulation.
Can pretty much say the exact same for The Pitt.
I expected it to be much bigger but oh well. New gear is cool and all but doesn’t help much when you’ve finished the game already.
So I finally started this up again. I’m about 15 hours in, level 9. Going for evil. Wish I could have gotten that bobble head in megaton. I fucked up on that one. I’ll probably get the bobble head achievements on a different play through with a good character.
My random advice to you is (if you don’t know this stuff already)-
- Save all of your nuka cola quantums.
- If you plan on getting the level achievements just make a separate save file at 13 and 19 and when you get really close you either donate to the church until you have good karma or steal a whole bunch of random stuff from Dukovs place until you have neutral or bad karma.
I just reinstalled Oblivion. I actually think its a slightly better game.
Yo, apparently I missed the bobble head in megaton before … you know.
Anyway, the vault tec CEO will probably be the only achievement I miss. How long do you think it would take to go through and get all the bobble heads on a new game? I’m planning on starting a character that’s a righteous mother fucker, so I can see that side of the game since I"m an evil fuck right now. I’ll probably skip most of the side quests though, and just do the story mode so I can get the bobble heads.
How long will that take?
They said the game is about 15-20 hours long just doing main quests.
I left that dude alive for the quest “You gotta shoot them in the head”. I killed every other guy but I was like “I can’t kill this dude.” Just cause of how pimp his place was, and because of his light fixture in the middle of his house.
most of the bobble heads you won’t find doing the main quest though. they’re scattered all over the map
Any good builds out there for melee?? Right now I mainly use small guns, minimal sneak, science is at 50 and repair is jacked through the roof but I want to focus on melee for my next guy. So any idea what works well in conjucntion with melee, like perks and whatnot?
PRECIATE!!!
I went back and made a unarmed build with sneak and Explosives. A little rough at the start but once you find some spiked knuckles or Fisto (forgot where it was) Shit is good to go. Help Banon in Rivet city and get the Death claw schematics and its ggpo.
Cant remember my specials of the top of my head (at work). But it was high endurance and intellect.
black widow
Intense Training X 2- Luck and agility
Iron fist X 4

Demo expert X 3
Action boy/girl
silent running
Get Charon and dog meat early to help you out.
I got back into Oblivion… and seriously, I think its a much better game. Don’t get me wrong, I love FO3, but they just put so much more into Oblivion.
Cool. I appreciate it.
