Fallout 3

Beat the game in 55 hours. Very hard difficulty setting.
Enjoyed it really much, and i’ll play at least another character ^^

Here’s my char:

Just joined the bandwagon…installed it on my macbook pro at work…so I know I won’t be getting much, if any, work done. :[

@previous post,
on bootcamp?

yeah i timed my playing so that i would be level 20 right before i did the final quest.

btw, supposedly if you edit a certain value in a config file you can reset your current level to something lower than 20, letting you bypass the cap. this is for PC users though.

**Picked this game up Friday. Haven’t had a whole lot of time to put into it just yet, but so far I love it. I think i’m going about things the wrong way like George W. Bush on a Segway though because I STAY getting murdered. I left the vault and went through the school. Ever since I left, i’ve been getting my nuts thrashed. Is it a good idea to go do some quests in that first town before I start wandering aimlessly? I don’t wanna see the ending anytime soon. I wanna get at least 60 hours out of this game.

BTW, this thread needs more spoiler tags. **

Now I have an excuse to play this again. In December.

Oh hell yes. Thanks for the info.

Sorry dude, just read your post. Yes, on boot camp. I don’t have the newest MBP that just came out, but the graphics get automatically set on High. Looks nice. :lovin:

I got hecka shotgun shells and no shotgun. I think I missed something like Bill Laimbeer behind the 3-point line.

Even as a 360 fallout 3 owner, I really wish that ps3 fallout 3 owners would get downloadable content as well. :\

Yeah man that shit’s bogus. Like my PS3 copy didn’t cost 80 dollars too. Bethesda can lap my scrotum for that shit.

Anyone having problems with NPCs disappearing from Megaton? I actually read about this somewhere else, happening quite often with Walter. He’s just never around in the town anymore, and they said that it’s due to a bug when NPCs get placed onto the map (they sometimes get placed onto inaccessible places and just fall to their deaths).

So…what can PS3 users do about this? I can’t complete the 3 pipes quest and probably something else.

Also, the guy from the Church is no longer around…not sure if it’s because I disarmed the bomb or that the glitch occurred to him as well.

Really? I have yet to roll across a group of raiders without at least ONE of them having combat shotguns.

…I hate those motherfuckers. Every one of them.

**I might have come across some raiders with one. That was probably one of the times I got fucked in the game like Jennifer Aniston’s love life during the production of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Matter of fact, i’m sure i’ve come across someone with a shotgun. I lost my life shortly thereafter.**

I love this game! I’ve already put in 50 hours into the game and i can’t get enough of that railway rifle! It does shitty damage but it cripples limbs really well. I agree the story is short, but the game is really long if you like to explore every nook and cranny and do all the mini/freeform quests. Also, Moira is annoying, so i left a bottlecap mine in her pocket… then i reloaded and left a nuka grenade in her pocket :looney:

I finally found a shotgun, but it’s a sawed-off. I’m struggling to stay alive on quests and shit, but managing to get through them. I think i’m hanging out in areas that are too strong for my character or some shit. It’s pretty rough like life in the ghetto.

my unarmed character is doing ok

i’ve learned he’s not too good in the wilderness cause ppl can get tons of shots in before you close in. also the deathclaws

also he’s not so hot vs rocket launchers either

good thing i got heavy weapons and explosives as backup skills

but nothin like just goin up to a raider and punching him in the gut and killing him in one hit

Get a partner for those long-range targets. Jericho and Charon work good. They also help carry all those extra weapons/ammo you find along the way.

Also if you have unarmed, you should also have the Bloody Mess perk. Nothing like making people EXPLODE when you hit them.

How Do You MAAAAKE Your WAAAAY In The Ghetto??

 Yeah. Same happened here. Free roaming comes with consequences. The path of the main quest tends to have a certain unspoken level requirement. If you take on an area that’s COMPLETELY out of your league or take on a side quest you’re ill equipped for, the game will hit you with some vicious frontier psychiatry. (e.g. Me going to Fort Bannister at level 10 in damaged leather armor, thinking I’m going to lay the town out with my shiskebab.)

GC!? Said it best. Snag that perk and get a pal ASAP. Also, do you have sneak or are you just rolling up on people and jawing them?

i just go in and kick ass. no stealth, not patient enough. example i went to lincoln memorial and punched leroy in the face. then i ran up the steps and beat up all the slavers.

if i do another play through with unarmed, i think i’ll go straight to dad’s vault (skipping gnr, rivet city, and jefferson memorial), rescue him, take him to project purity, so i can get power armor training and get the power fist. then i’ll go and get faust as my follower. the problem is i’m already level 14 and i’ve just been using spiked knuckles with no follower. i can definitely do better next time.

i’m not a big fan of the gore so i don’t like bloody mess, even with the 5% damage.
