lol i guess i suck. i tend to avoid fast travel because i’m just hooked on exploration, but the random encounters really take a toll on me.
I have 10 on strength and maxed out melee belive me going up to anyone and giving them a beating with a sledgehammer never gets boring (plus it’s hella useful too.)
Endurance ehhh didn’t bother to waste anything on it melee+small arms FTW.
Saved before and went into Vault 112, loaded shortly afterward. Awful fucking mission.
I tried to build a character based on stealth and small arms but I don’t think I like it al that much and will probably either start over from scratch or complete the game with my current set up and just start over after that.
endurance ups your unarmed skill which is why i was going to max it for my next build
I had a character was that 10 end, 10 str, 100 unarmed, 3 perks worth of iron fist and parlaying palm, topped of with the shocker which is a unique powerfist. The slow motion deaths NEVER got old. With shit tons of AP and bloody mess, I was pretty much playing a fist of the north star RPG.
unarmed is just too good anyway
never need ammo, power fists are cheap to buy so that you can use them to repair
and even spiked knuckles do up to 30+ dmg per hit at full condition
I’m very early in the game (haven’t even gone to GNR building yet).
I was wandering around and Dogmeat got himself killed chasing some ghouls. It was the second time he’s gotten himself killed by wandering off and fighting everything, so I’m over it and moved on.
Yeah next time through I am going ninja. For a basic rifle though Hunting Rifle + shotgun assist is too good.
I went high CHA, PER, & INT, with points pumped into AGI through Intense Training Perks.
Silent Running at level 12 is great. You can literally walk up to some enemies and pop VATS for a bloody mess (great perk, that, too).
Strong Back fixes any issues low/av. strength causes (carrying stuff, mostly).
I have yet to see any real reason to pump up any other weapon type beyond 40ish.
Small Guns or Melee seems to be the way to go.
As far as weapons, I go combat shotgun + sniper rifle as my main combo, with a hunting rifle for the lesser enemies (ghouls, animals etc.), and a Chinese assault rifle just to use some of those thousands of rounds that I’d sell otherwise.
Any peeps Bobble Head hunting?
So far, I’ve got the Lockpick one, and the Small Guns one, which are great ones to find early on, as I did. :lovin:
Medical one is at the start of the game, STR is in Lucas Simms house. I have about 7 of them now but I don’t remember all of them. I got a lot of them from the vaults.
Also, my friend was telling me to make sneak work well you need to turn off your pip boy? I didn’t even know you could do that? Anyone know how to do it?
Also, if you like combat shotguns, make sure to go to greenmills raider camp. There is a merchant in there named smiley I think? Kill him, hes got a super nasty, nasty, terrible shotgun.
Dont turn off Pip Boy just dont use it, when you use it a green light comes on.
Oh ok, interesting.
Thank ye sniper perk, makes game so much easier.
I think sneak is only affected if your pip boy light stays on (hold down the pip boy button).
no, I think he means your pip boy light. This is activated by pressing and holding the pip boy button instead of just tapping it.
As for bobbleheads:

Honestly, I think all builds should involve maxing your int, getting the extra skill point perk and getting comprehension. The rest is up to you.
So for melee/unarmed you’d want it to start like:
STR 6
PER 3
END 5
CHR 5
INT 9
AGI 5
LUCK 7
Perks
2 Intense Training (str)
3 Intense Training (str)
4 Educated
5 Comprehension (save books you pick up til you get this)
6 Iron fist
7 Iron fist
8 Iron fist
9 Toughness
10 Strong Back
11 Finesse
12 Life Giver (have to have picked up END bobblehead to get this one)
13 Fast Metabolism
14 Adamantium skeleton
15 Intense training (per)
16 Better Criticals
17 Intense training (str)
18 Paralyzing Palm
19 Intense Training (Luck)
20 Ninja
From toughness on those are really just to make your life easier, since you’ll be taking more damage as a melee character and you’ll probably be using heavier equipment. If you’re doing fine without them then feel free to get something else.
This also doesnt factor which skills you picked since you have enough to max anything pertaining to bread and butter melee builds and THEN some. If you went science cyborg is a good choice, if you’re evil then perhaps cannibal, pyro, or demo expert for their respective skills.
Your ending stats should look something like this
STR 10
PER 6
END 6
CHR 6
INT 10
AGI 6
LUCK 10
These numbers assume that
A) you got all the bobbleheads, and that you immediately run to rivet city to get the int bobblehead at level 1 to ensure you get the most amount of skill points possible.
B) you got the lucky 8 ball from timebomb in Big Town
C) you got the Ant perk to increase your perception from grayditch
I think Im going to give this a shot for my next playthrough, let me know what you think or drop some ideas for your broken build!
I beat this game yesterday. I played as an absolutely evil person who kills everyone in towns after completing the quests they gave. Worked out pretty well for me.
The ending was atrocious though.
I’m playing it again, only this time I’m going to try and be somewhat neutral. I’m doing a “Kenshiro” build, where my only weapon is my fists. Its working out pretty well - I can take down Super Mutant Masters without much trouble with 90 Unarmed/9 STR and a Fisto!. The disadvantage, of course, is that I’d have to use guns to take down people from a distance (people with Miniguns/Missile Launchers can really fuck you up). And…that’s why I have Jericho.
But yeah, I’m having tons of fun with the game, and its been a while since I had this much fun with a RPG.
just beat this finally
22 hours in and after having all of that imba armor/weaponry the game turns to cake (100 on energy probably contributed). no one here’s really commented much on the story. did anyone else feel the ending was kind of just anticlimatic or abrupt? i mean i know there are 3 times the amount of sidequests but i felt so uncontent with all of the possible endings.
do the sidequests reveal more about:
li’s relationship with dad
exactly what the mom died of
more about vault-tec and the vaults
geck
chinese communist invasion
and all that shit i did when i escaped 101
TUNNEL SNAKES RUUUUULE
i am really hoping fallout 4 directly continues off of 3.
Still pissed about the level cap. The game just died for me once I reached level 20.
Beat the game today. Ending was a little disappointing.
Was level 15 when I finished the game completely, but it was literally the last guy I shot before the ending that leveled me to 15.
