Holeman got taken out by Crow in a Lars mirror. JFJ almost put Nin in losers in a really close match that James messed up at the end.
I don’t think Tokido will get top 3 if he keeps playing Bob. At least 5 of the other 7 players know how to beat Bob, or should. Nin is probably guaranteed top 3 though. :shake:
It might not mean much, and people might say it didn’t mean shit…but ya think Justin wasn’t “worn out” as so much he had added pressure of representing EG at EVO after a very public exodus from Empire to EG? Like I said, it might not mean much but I think somewhere in the back of his head he was thinking of winning not for himself, but to prove his decision to leave the Empire was a good move.

Oh shit, I figured people had heard about it.
Late in June (story on EG’s site has it at June 24th) it was “announced” that JWong had signed on to be with EG (hence the EGJWong name) after leaving the Empire. I think it was last week or so there was a podcast done where they talked with both Marn and Justin about them leaving the Empire and asking them about if Empire took money from winnings to pay for bills and other such things and if the Empire was all on the up an up.
So with all of that going on, it isn’t too much to think that maybe Justin was trying to win not only for him, but for EG and to legitimize his decision. I mean, he was a favorite to make Top 8, and he’s out. TvC, he’s in loser brackets. High player turnout or not, this doesn’t seem like the Justin Wong we’ve seen in the past…
FWIW, I hate JWong. More so for that emo ass haircut he has…

I think its safe to say, that with the turn out of the top eight this year, that it may not always be go to go with the obvious choice when predicting brackets. If you were to tell me that JWong was going to get sent to losers and then not make top eight, i would have told u to stop lying to me.
I’m happy for Mike Ross right now but he has a tough fight ahead of him. Should be an exciting finals to say the least
