props for the predictions. Nice calls.
Ugh, that’s such a hard one to call.
I called Infiltration before I even knew he was going to Evo to make the top 8. As a Chun player, i want to pick Shizza, but just as a fan of the game, I want to pick Infiltration, he is honestly the best Akuma I’ve ever seen or played, and is proving it. Whoever wins, I hope it’s a hype match.
Mike Ross goes to losers. If he doesn’t, wow. Vangief loses to Ricky. and Cen over Gamerbee, although Gamerbee could pull another upset.
That top 8 is 75% shock for me. I was for sure Daigo and Infiltration would be there, but I’m surprised that Shizza made it, even though he is an amazing Chun. I was honestly hoping he would, but I figured he wouldn’t make it past top 32 or so.
Yeah, interested in knowing what the final bracket looks like for all games not named “Super Street Fighter 4”.
I’m also interested in this, I would laugh if justin doesn’t make 1st in anything this year
I think gamerbee has proven by now that any win he gets isn’t an upset. Dood eliminated ed ma, JR and justin wong.
Top 8 for Tekken 6:
Winners
Mr Naps (Norcal)
NiN (Korea)
Devil Jim (Texas)
Tokido (Japan)
Losers
Crow (Texas)
KOR (Texas)
Rip (Socal)
JFJ (Socal)
Don’t forget Mr. KOF who defeated Ed Ma. Mr.KOF lost by one round to Gamerbee.
Ok my bad, I had heard earlier that gamerbee was the one that beat him, didn’t quite fact check. >_>
Still I don’t think bee over cen would be much of an upset.
Anybody know the top 8 for HDR?
-DJ-
Gamerbee just blew up Sabin in 2 money matches 5-1 and 5-2 in addition to taking out all these big names like Eita and JWong. We could even talk about how he gave Daigo so much trouble in there long sets that was posted on youtube a month or two ago. I think he’s the clear favorite in most peoples opinion in his match with Cen.
There is an archive video in the media libary several weeks ago with Cen against Sabin in a Sim mirror in the Tuesday Break. That’s an epic battle which Cen won by a very narrow margin - with luck.
His Sim is not better than Sabin, no way. The problem with Sabin in this EVO is his lack of confidence in his Rose, and when he starts questioning himself, he always went back to his Sim and play turtle, that’s how he lost.
If his Sim will play Cen’s Sim 100 times, he probably will win 70-75 times.
Cen on the other hand, always destoryed by Ryder and Sabin in the break and often lost to Chris Hu also, his Honda doesn’t have good footsie and the reason for this success this year in EVO is because of :
- his aggressive playing style - which always will surprise some really great player and don’t know how to react to him in a short 3 game set.
- he doesn’t have much pressure, I am pretty sure top 8 is well above his goal.
- luck is also a factor, I don’t know how many Abel he played in this EVO, but if you look back his performance in the break the last couple months, basically he got destroyed by Ryder every week. His Honda has pretty bad footsie game.
Being said that,
Tuesday the break is a very nice and enjoyable stream to watch, you will see some very high level plays everyweek and I think overall its probably the best regular weekly tourney. Their regulars like Sabin / Ryder / Cen and even Chris Hu did pretty decent to well in this year’s Evo, with a bit of luck in the draw, I think Sabin and Ryder can be easily in the top 8 also.
more super 4 action.

Thank You sir!
Can’t someone just post the top 8 for all games?
Ahh, so much wrong info.
I don’t know why such an obvious thing needs to be said but even if Cen’s Sim does beat Sabin’s Sim or vice-versa, it doesn’t prove who has the better play against other characters outside of Sim.
And to whoever is making the lamerboi comparison, just because Sabin lost to Lamerboi and Cen beat Lamerboi, doesn’t mean Cen’s Sim is better than Sabin’s.
Sabin’s Sim is better than Cen’s.
Why the hell would Gamerbee winning over Henry Cen be an upset?
id still like to know marvels top 8
from eventhubs, heres HDRs top 8
Winner’s Bracket: DGV, Snake Eyez, Tokido, Jason Cole
Loser’s Bracket: Daigo, Afrolegends, Alex Valle, RyRy
that match with justin andgamerbee was dumbfouding and shocking, i thought wong would be in the finals. but its a good change of pace. when someone said “good game” to justin i heard the dissapointment and gloominess in his voicewhen i was standing next to him after leaving the ballroom going back to my room. and another suprise wasno empire arcadia players are in the semi-winners & finals.
the FIRST MATCH of sabin vs lamerboi was probably the most exciting match I had seen. I know its fun seeing comebacks based on people doing random shit or whatever but that was the most interesting match I saw all day to me.
What controller is Shizza using?
I hope Gamerbee wins it all! Expect a massive influx of Adons on PSN.
