Thanks Dream and DXP for clearing up some details about the ultimate sticks. Like i said, im very very glad we will be using switch sticks. I just cannot see how people can like the 360’s.
DXP : We should be ok as Sabre and I arrive the same night. I am not sure when I am leaving to go because it is an 8 hr drive from Nashville for me, so I might be there even earlier.
King of Bums: YOu do realize a table does not do anything, right? Cabinets are hundreds of pounds, which basically means they are very stable if you decide to mash and do hard uppercuts and spastic moves. A lot of arcade players (MVC2 players among others) will tell you how difficult it is to have “keep a grip” on the stick if you are playing in tight situations. It’s an added unwanted problem in the back of the mind of a player to have to hold the stick lightly and not play the way they are used to. The only solution is something that weighs a lot, concrete stand is one thing, but it will never be the same.

Agreed.
I spaz on sticks, and a lot of times, I actually lose grip of the stick while doing the CC in my av. It’s a hassle playing on the floor, in my lap, on a table… any of that stuff.
Too bad CvS won’t be console, but I’ll actually play other games that I don’t even play at MWC just to play a tournament on a cab.
Console = :tdown:
lol what you said about playing on floor is true i just cant get used o it especially if you have bone problems havoc you going for the whole weekend?
Yo, king of bums! I have been looking for someone to challenge at cvs2 since it came out! I play everybody in this piece of shit town I live in but nobodys good enough…I am a pad player by the way I’m not that good with sticks…anyways i was hoping I could play you at evo. Whaddaya say? I need a good challange man
have any of you guys registered Evo North?
they have changed the web site, but it looks like the registration form has not appeared. I am just wondering if someone has already done it.
Wiz said that it should be openned sometime today, so just give it some time and I’m sure it’ll open up soon.
CVS 2 is on console though. Originally it was Arcade.
Wilson made some good points but like I’ve said plenty of times before…the console versus arcade contingent can go on forever. Like I mentioned in my GGL article interview you have to adapt to where the majority is at or simply get left behind in the shadows. Yes console is where its at now unfortunatley but it is what it is. My only gripe with the whole situation is that originally it was arcade format then gone switched to console but thats understandable because there arent enough boards and added with the up in attendance that Midwest will be getting they have no choice…understood. However and dont take this the wrong way but alot of console players are spoiled. It happened at Final Round when 3S was arcade then the console players complained and now midwest where console ppl were complaining about it being aracde.
Arcade players (though many dont like it) hav/have to adapt to console and they say very little to nothing about it. However Midwest Championship comes around once a year and is now the only aracde major in the US while all the rest are console. Aside from FFA,edt:TGA and Chinatown Fair thjats all thats left. My whole point is this…there are 50 biliion console tournaments a year and in a ratio of console to arcade tournaments its pretty obvious where the mainstream takes over. If Midwest is Arcade and certain games are aracde then deal with it and vice versa thats all im saying.
Also I can take a puck shot about the console players being spoiled part, its all good I can just chuck it up as the ongoing Console/Arcade Wars Saga!:looney:
Yeah, I meant too bad CvS will be console…
Jeron: It was never stated that CVS2 would be arcade this year, only “arcade or console” until we made a decision on the boards. It is just such a hassle to get those boards in general, and after last year’s attendance with CVS2, it makes sense just to go the console route for it, but you know as well as I do I PERSONALLY would rather have the arcade version there!
There will be a CvS2 cab there though, right? Just for casual?
I’d like to at least be able to MM on cab.
Havoc: There will be one there for casual arcade play, yes.
So, how are people supposed to register online if there is no link to register online? Anyone know what is up with that?
I dono, it will be up soon, dont worry.
There is a problem with the online registration, we hope to have it fixed shortly.
I don’t know if this has been covered yet, but are any of the cabs for atleast 3s head to head?, just out of curiosity.
unless they ship tons of them in they are the traditional american style one screen and you sit right next to your opponent.
they do have the bigs ones though so you do have room (not like those old tiny cabs)
Thank god, cause the 3s cab we have in annarbor is like shoulderxshoulder, and barely works.
Since it will be on console it will be bring your own pad/stick. However, most people are generally cool about you borrowing a stick/pad if need be (Unless they need it for a match they are currently in.) It’s best not to have to rely on other’s to be able to play, but if you absolutely cannot bring either with you, I’m sure some of the fresh players will help you out.
IS there any chance that mvc2 will be console?
