Evo Game Ruleset (Now Live!)

With the influx of people asking about controllers setups for Evo…I suggest there be a sort of general rules for controller/joysticks used at the events.

What happens if you copy the HDD content containing the unlocked SF4 to the HDDs of the other PS3 consoles?

I don’t own a PS3, so this is just an idea from someone unfamiliar with the system. :stuck_out_tongue:

Using the built in backup process in the ps3, it wont copy the save, but will copy everything else.

better start beating the game 20 times on all those ps3s. You could probably hire someone to do it.

If you fly me down to Vegas a few days early I’ll help unlocking them on Evo’s systems.

I know, I’m beating a dead horse but why don’t we just use Arcade rules for SF4, meaning that non console characters are banned to include Akuma…or we just go with what we have. Or we can use Gamestop rules whare all locked/secret characters are banned!!!

Because Evo is a console tournament.

Console only characters that were ready from the start in CVS2 weren’t allowed. And Gill is not that bad. If you know how to parry then Gill is on a level playing field…

You really are just kicking the crap out of that horse.

Evo is a console tournament. We no longer follow games from the arcade to the home versions for arcade accuracy.

And the horse is now alive. Just let it run away, now. This debate is age old and the above should be all you need to know.

You can sign in as the same user with the purchased costumes on 5 different consoles under the same account.

I know because I have 2 PS3’s and download the games I purchase online for both using only 1 account.

Each game can be activated on up to 5 consoles under the same PSN name.

You may have already figured this out, if not, now ya know :P. Wish I could go, I’d love to compete in SF4 and HDR but don’t got the money to head to Vegas.

I didn’t want to create a new thread for this but why hasn’t there been tekken at evo for the last 2 years?

actually, tekken 5 dr was at last years evo. t6 was already out at this time but was arcade only and had no US release.

t6 BR is out now but again no console/US release yet.

evo being console only means no tekken. maybe next year will have BR since its coming to consoles later this year after evo.

so why no t5 dr?

I’m guessing because most Tekken Players dropped it to play Tekken 6.

Tekken was at the last two Evos. Wtf.

Ah my bad. I was reading jchensor’s blog and it said

“Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection - My letter to the Tekken community: “Where were you?!? Why didn’t you show up? I know Tekken 6 is coming out but… it’s not even out yet! Is Dark Resurrection so bad that it warranted being completely ignored? Was there no motivation to come out and play at Evo at all? Can someone please explain to me why the Tekken community bailed? I’m actually really disappointed by that, especially since I talked them up so much last year about how dedicated they were to their game and such. Is there something I just don’t know? – James””

So I assumed that there was no Tekken at Evo

by that time the Tekken players will have dropped that for Tekken 7

I hope there will be a judge or someone to watch over the street fighter 4 matches in case people use turbos. I know for a fact there will be people that use auto fire because I’ve seen youtube videos of high GP people doing it, and just today I went to a tournament in california and some guy was using auto fire guile and balrog couldn’t dash punch against it.
