MvC2 had a 10 year run, CvS2 had a 7 year run, the quality of the games is far more important than the quantity of games. It’s not like we have seen everything we have seen in AE, I am still waiting to see Uryo’s Sakura in EVO and of course there will be balance patches to make Yun and Fei Long more beatable. But more importantly if no one wants to play the game there’s no point in putting it in EVO, and as far as I know KOF isn’t even Blazblue’s level of popularity in the US.
i really hope evo 2k12s lineup isnt really so bland as to put both ae and xt and not have kof, thats the only fighting game coming out that im really pumped for
Ballz 3D
Street Fighter 1
Super Mario Bros Wii (Fuck you, watch UFGT’s Random Game Tournament. That shit was hype)
Capcom Fighting Jam
Ocarina Of Time 3D Speedrun Tournament
Best EVO of forever.
I gotta admit, watching SMB Wii on the UFGT stream was pretty hilarious. And thanks for the correction Stuart.
I want to see Daigo vs Funkdot in Street Fighter 1…
Because no ones plays SNK games. Also, people are going to realize how ass KOFXIII is once they finally release it on console.
I’ll like to hear why KOFXIII is ass, because so far I have heard nothing but positive reviews from long time KOF fans.
The way I see it these 4 are dead certs for inclusion:
SSFIV:AE 2012 Edition
UMvC3
SFxT
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Anything else is questionable. Soul Calibur IV got its chance at EVO2009 and never returned again, that makes Soul Calibur V questionable. People seem to be convinced that MK9 will die, for good reasons, but we’ll see about that. Blazblue will likely die. No KOF has ever been played in EVO so I will be rather shock if KOFXIII is played in the next EVO. As for Skullgirls… do people actually plan to buy it?
Actually I won’t mind them limiting it to 4 games, if it means them organizing more exhibitions that matter. A SF4 country team exhibition would be badass and I can’t believe it hasn’t been organized yet.
SFIVAE Rebalance
UMVC3
MK9
BBCS2+
TTT2
Evo is about uniting the whole fighting game community, therefore its roster should reflect it. IMO, MK9 and BBCS2 have a very strong chance of returning because of this, especially considering their amazing top 8’s. I don’t think KOFXIII, SCV, or Skullgirls (lol) have the same pull as these games, and I agree that SFxT makes the roster redundant. If there were 6 games I’d expect SFxT to take the spot, though.
I’m pretty sure 3rd Strike Online Edition is not going to be on the lineup. It’s gonna die once SFxT comes out in Spring IMO.
I think most of these are pretty spot on, with maybe one surprise game? haha
That means a lot coming from a guy who plays WWE Allstars… talk about a lost cause for a shitty game.
This is legit hard. I’m trying to think like the Cannons and Wiz.
For certain…
SSF4AE 2012
UMvC3
TTT2 or T6
Pretty good chance…
SFxT
3SOE
SC5
Little chance in hell…
Skullgirls
KoF13
BBCS2
Opinionsssssss
IMHO for next year.
AE2012
SFxTekken
UMVC3
SC5
MK9
KOF13 (just to give it a chance). Plus this game could pull in more players from different countries. Bring the international hype.
I don’t think Skullgirls, BB or 3rd strike OE (people got bored of the game before, and it’s the same game now. I like 3rd strike btw)
Maybe if they had a situation like back in 04 or 05, when ST and VF4 finals were on Saturday night, KOF13 and BB finals could be then. They would had to get a bunch more stations maybe though for this.
Or hey, maybe Sega will release VF:FS (yea right), haha.
BTW, I think the delays in the tourny were because of the TTT2/SC5 and 3rd strike OE exhibitions. I assume those won’t be there next year, so there would be time for 6 main games.
I also don’t think TTT2 will be out on console in time for EVO.
I really have no idea where people are getting the idea MK9 and BB are going to die before next Evo. Is everyone aware they’ve still got character DLC and other constant support coming?
I wonder how the point system will be revised before the next EVO.

If 3S were to come back, only viable option is to have it run in a Team style tournament.
I don’t know about BB, but MK9 IS going to die exactly because of the DLCs and other constant support. Those are just making the game go from bad to worse. Listen to the whole of this if you haven’t, in particularly the part about why Mortal Kombat DLCs weren’t allowed in this EVO:
http://shoryuken.com/2011/07/25/mrwizard-talks-evo-2011-on-the-original-gamer-podcast/
thanks for that, now i know to ignore everything you say
-SF x Tekken
-SSF: AE re-balance
-UMvC3
-Tekken Tag 2 if it release couple month before evo
Other games fight for the couple spots.
I think you’re implying that WWE All-Stars is a bad game.
You better not be implying this.
I’m aware of this, and I fully understand why they weren’t allowed at Evo. But they’ve been patched up now, and they’re being allowed at the Sin City Heat by popular demand. By the time of the next Evo, I have no doubt there’ll be a somewhat unbalanced DLC character just released. I have no doubt they’ll be banned. But the point is by the time of Evo, the characters released now will have been fixed up. Its a perfectly reasonable way of getting things checked, its how mobas like DotA and HoN check their characters out after their internal testing. You release a character, somewhat checked by your own guys, disallow it in tournament play until you’ve got it reasonably checked by the community.
Mind you, your ‘bad to worse’ comment makes it sound like you’re already biased against it, so I’m not sure if there’s any point of me posting this.
